really?.....i have flown with a duffle bag...a BIG duffle bag...chock full of swords and flintlocks.....i mean full of them....when i checked em....they gott quite the look...well as did i...i was dressed as a pyrate at the time.....but long as i declared them (as reproductions)....on checked bags....no problem

where did ya get yours that they had to shipp seperately??...got mine from Middlesex...just missin the flint and ready to go havent had an issue yet with the dog...even tried it straight down...and no issue....tho i could see if it was a bit loose...have ya tried tighten up a bit?? damn...hate to have to git a dog...for the dog!?!?

ok...saw a sutler who had 2 types of thrums.....domed or sugarloafed...... are we asumming the "sugarloafed"...is the more appropriate style of thrum???...or is any style appropriate??

I don't know if a monmouth can be modified, but when I made a thrum cap, I started by knitting a monmouth cap, and every 3 to 4 stitches, worked a half hitched 6" to 8" chunk of yarn on the "working yarn" into the cap. I made the cap almost twice as large as I wanted it finished and then felted it by running it through the washing machine and drier on hot.... The biggest problem with a thrum cap is that it it way too hot to ever wear (even in Winter)... and people keep asking you about a "Bad hair day"..... yah...but since me "golden locks" were stolenat PiP....been needin a "welsh wig"...or a foppy one...to look presentable again....

...just cant figure out how to make it pay yet...huh?? where do ya think all the good stories comes from??

ok...i know i asked this before....but where did scurvy Hanna git the thrum??....i am lookin for a pattern....or a dealer.....tried to contact the one in United Kigdom...no reply... can a monmouth be altered into a thrum???

linnen workmans cap probably dont want to go this route.....
