Note, this post was taken from the Flying to PiP thread by Mission and put here in a topic created by Captain Sterling. My biggest problem is that I dont know of anyone near me that I could swindle into doing that...apparently I need to work on my pirate skills (persuasion). It would save me a heck of a headache trying to get a gun and a sword through security and trying to explain why...NYC TSA...ugh! If anyone happens to know of someone passing near the state of NY that wouldnt mind hauling one more case to PiP for a few coin, please send me a PM so I could "persuade" them to give me a hand if possible.... closer to the dates....there will be a flurry of folk kickin up details...of how and whenn their gittan all thars stuffs there....from hitch hickin to sailin down...and several just UPS there stuff down so its magically down there when they show up

VERY good article. And yet another vivid illustration of the misleading nature of "mainstream" news media. I've heard from alot of people about these pirates, but never once until this article the reasons... and valid ones at that, that made these men turn to piracy. "There are Pirates and Emperors, but they're really the same thing." Another thing that I often point out, as alot of the time "pirate personae" are ridiculed and frowned upon in the local SCA circles, is that one nation's hero is another nation's criminal... or Pirate. thats funny....many SCA circles are ridiculed and frowned upon in the Re-enactment venue!?!?!

Weeeeellllllll.... were not suppose to tie anything to the trees...... So I won't say anything 'bout that........ But there are some 2x2's available for those of us that fly in (they also do American Civil War events at the Fort, and they are poles for that camp).... and if worse comes to worse, we can walk to the hardware store and buy some 2x2's and then just donate them to the Fort....... I think I would probably end up doing that...another idea that I was wondering about was this...more than likely you have a TSA approved case for carrying your sword and pistol...so it must be a pretty lengthy case no? Why not find a way to collapse the poles or use these ones (Tent poles from JAS Townsend) and place them in your gun/sword case? Has anyone done this? Just curious cause I am seriously debating doing that (making my own) and I want to see if anyone would have advice?? i have both...the extra long 63" hard gun case...and the colapsable poles.....and i fly to PiP with ...neither i usually pass them along to friends driving down and they have hauled them for me.....a but of a logistical nightmare....but so far has worked out

ahh....i think she needs to look up the word ..."PYRACY" in the dictionary?!?!? the reporter also asked our group for some quotes......we most have made to much sence...we wer'nt quoted!?!?! for example....does anybody think it interesting that the exact same thing is happing....same tactics...same route...same big countries being hit by small nations....same ends...same means????....so...the world has learned NOTHING IN OVER 300 YEARS!?!?! mark twain once said......history dont exactly repeat itself...but it sure do ryhme!!!

And when you say "their plannion on playin" who are they...exactly? nope...caint make Blackbeards this year....or any other while its on the Wifes Birthday.....thinkin they did that on purpose!?!?! and the Arhangel crewe is still invited to participate within the FIGHT SCENARIO...not all can make the trip to Blackbeards....so whom ever is left....can still participate in Port Washington....but for me???.....i'll be stayin home that weekend. "THEY" be the fight choreographers....my buddys from when we were infants and learned to sword fight together oi...Lady B...pm me with yur e-mail....i send ya a copy only place they have openings left are for "shooters" pretty much same as last year

Well, Capt. Sterling, thee be quite the gentleman, and you've truly tickled my fancy, that you have.Truth be told, I be in a tiny humble abode high up overlooking the water, living on an isle with all me windows open year-round to catch the breeze skimming through. Actually looking at this I think we do not want it, too much modification required to fit an adequate number of cannon yes...but plenty of room fer a "boat load" of muskets!?!?!

i have seen the "beckets" used as more of a way to lash to each other or for stowin away...not so much for lifting...while on board....how many times do you have to lift once its stowed??

wed b y noon.....leave monday...shortest possible time to spend...and ya still feel like yur missin stuff fly into KeyWest ifn ya can...nice view...mere minutes from fort...but gotta stop for a cuban coffee on yur way in airlines are usually ok with the weapons...as long as in a case...lockable....as checked baggage....and declare whats inside...they usually laugh at ya...and handlers caint hurt themselves with it....course flyin into keywest is a small,small plain plane....will have to watch weight restrictions...their kinda mean about it also...keywest airline is a very laid back airport....first time down their lost my bag...the one with all the gear!!...say it happens all the time...got it a day later wot to bring?? a drynkin vessel....and sumpthin to pass around..... come ta think on it? you just bring spirits ta pass...and sit next to me...i gots a drynkin v essel....HA!!

Hell no... not until he's got them perfect...yer doing fine, just the way ye are... but if they look perfect..how can ya tell there are hand sewn? why go thru all the headache...if noone notices and just thinks ya cheated cause they are so nice??? my great Aunts used to hand quilt so beutifuly...that you would have sworn it coulnt have been done by hand....and so lost money at auctions...cause they didnt "LOOK" hand sewn!?!?! !?!?!
