If no one has your name or phone number then you don't have to join in. This is meant to become better aquainted with the friends you have made here. If you don't want to join in then by all means, don't.

Harry had suggested a fire away from the camp. Perhaps nearer the center of the fort.

Looking past her reflection in the window she spied several hats that caught her fancy, what color, what style, how could she choose? Then focusing on her reflection Murin noted that she looked rather like a lad at the moment. The extra fabric of the waistcoat hiding her shape and the long breeches covering her legs, her hair pulled up and tucked under the rather large brown hat, and badly worn shoes on her feet. She stood there for some time looking from the hats to her reflection and back. She then turned to William. "Tank ya Capn' I shall purchase a hat." The Captain stepped back and motioned her to the entrance of the millner's shop. She smiled softly, "Nay suh. When I've time t'shop. I wouldn' wont t'keep u'n Mista Pew frum ya business while I fuss or such a trifle." She interrupted Captain Brand before he could object. "N'I tink Ill wait til afta I've seen t'betta shoes." Looking at her feet he smiled, "Aye, shoes," he looked up "and clothing that is fitted to you ...lad." He winked at the girl. "Then you will buy your hat." It was statement not a question. Her smile broadened, a smile unlike any the Captain had seen from her yet, as if a burden had been lifted from the lass. Her eyes, honey colored in the sunlight, brightened, her lips usually full and a bit pouty pulled open to reveal a row of bright white teeth and she laughed. She actually let out a laugh in the presence of the captain. There was no tension, no feeling of stepping out of line. The laugh of a woman free to do as she pleased with her life her possessions. She looked directly and intently into the captains eyes, "Aye suh. Den I will buy at least one hat!"

Roberts was a wonderful distraction, tall, broad shoulders, that luscious head of dark hair and blue eyes. Silkie liked the man, he was good, she could tell, she has a sixth sense about these things. ...Oh no, here she goes again. Laughing she picked up a bit of egg on her fork and offered it to Roberts. She still needed a face to face with Tar. If he was going to make her stay behind he was at least going to tell her why.

Just got off the phone with Patrick Hand. Talked about sewing, garb, PiP, messy offices, productivity, RPG's, the Pub and how great it was that William started this because we hadn't chatted since PiP. Patrick Hand Siren Big Norm William Red Wake Callanish Gunner Mad Matt Blackfoot I have Dorians number but I will wait until tomorrow to call ...he is at work. Wouldn't want him to get fired. :)

"I won't be able to come visit you and Katie tomorrow" "Why" "I have another doctors appointment. they want to do another scn on that growth to see if it has grown any" From there it deteriorated into health talk and some I miss you's etc. Big Norm William Red Wake Callanish Gunner Mad Matt Blackfoot

Murin had meandered up the street inspecting all manner of commerce; butcher, baker, tailor, cobbler, ...this was just one of many shop windows she had taken time to gazed at. She stared into the millinery shop window mesmerized, even when she was a free woman in Ireland she had never seen such things displayed so! So much to see and do just in this small length of street. As she starred at the fine hats in the window she felt someone come up behind her and her hand slowly went to her valuables in the pouch that hung inside her shirt making sure they were secure, not that any one would be able to get to them without her knowing. She could not tear herself away. These "hats" such beautiful things. The captain spoke from behind her startling her to attention. She turned to him again, her brow furrowed. "Aye?" The lass had not owned anything in the past three years and never had she dreamed of owning such fine things prior to her enslavement. Her mind fogged at the thought of how much wealth she now carried, not all she possessed either, and her hand returned to the pouch that hung inside her shirt.

Roberts flashed a smile so disarming Silkie almost forgot what was on her mind, almost. She demurely returned his smile, turned away coyly and blushed, batting her eyes all in one well practiced motion so smooth it looked natural. For now she would enjoy the lads company following Red Cat and Tar until she could speak directly to Tar. Roberts would be would be her way out of immediate confrontation with Tar but he would face her, one on one. She was not to be brushed about like so much dust .
-
Looks like your lad Roberts is there. Silkie observed with a gleam in her eyes and the slightest lilt of teasing in her expression towards Red Cat.

Last year William told me the same thing. I did not buy the ticket so far in advance but I did commit to buying it. Thus having it set in my mind to do so. I went with somewhat appropriate period garb and I had a grand time. So make the commitment to yourself to buy save the airfare and have the garb. You will not regret it.

Sleep came quickly ...after a few tankards of rum. Sunrise came even quicker. Silkie rose with the sun, her eyes dry, her mouth tasting like something had crawled in there and died. Starring at her reflection in the mirror she wondered again what she was getting herself into. She poured some fresh water into the wash basin, washed, pinned her hair up, dressed in her roguish best and headed back to the docks hoping to find Red Cat.
-
Silkie blinks, her eyes watering from the smell of the skunk pelt that she can not see though knows it is there. Nach bhfuil fáilte bréantas. What an unwelcome stentch! Laddie! Wash d'pelt r'buy a round ...otter wise yull bae stanin ere alone fer quite some time. She rubs her eyes with the back of her hands and backs away about three yards.
-
Silkie rolled her eyes at Red Cat and turned towards town. Could use some sleep? Could use a good stiff drink is more like it! What demon had possessed her to attempt to consort with this group? If tempers were always flaring and heads butting she would be better off waiting for the next opportunity. She had no designs on becoming rich from the adventure. The adventure was what she was after. Treasure, although appealing, was not her goal. Sleep, if it came at all, would be a welcome change to the madness. Perhaps things would clear in the morning when she returned to the docks.

I have two canvas tarps down there already. Since I will be camping in Callanish's castle I won't need them for sleeping (the one leaked anyway!). One has some small text spray painted on but if we keep that side down all should be well.

Jim, I am humbled by the actions of your and your wife. These children now have a chance at a happy healthy life. The fact that they sleep through the nights speaks volumes in itself. Thanks, to you and your wife. Thank you both for being heros in this world, thank you for these lives that you have taken in, and thank you for providing hope not only to the little ones in your care but to those of us, who at times, need to see the glimmer of your shining example. This will come back to you ten fold lad.

Perhaps we should consider several threads. Title: The Mercury 1720 Careening Camp PIP 2007 Sub title examples (others would know better than I would): -Props (What is needed to make the camp look good) ...anyone have a ships bell? -Feeding the Crew (Gear, food, fire, etc.) -Guns and Powder (Who's got what?) -Our Story -Working Camp (What Activities can make the camp look more realistic) -Fire ants ...hunt and destroy! and more if needed. This would make it easier to keep track of specific things. For instance people flying from the west will be unlikely to bring props but there is alot of talent out west, they can take on the story. Some of us from the east may be driving and can supply props.

Silkie stood silent for a moment. What ever had possessed her to try and join this team seemed to elude her for a moment. She needed to leave the land to ride the waves again, that’s what. The man who at first welcomed her in her enthusiasm now wanted her to stay behind? Fine then, she’ll stay. But she wanted an explanation. Captain Ransom," she waited to be acknoledged "I will indeed address Captain Tar as soon as I can find him. Would you kindly take me to the relentless?" She looked at False Ransom directly and did not blink at the smoldering embers behind the womans eyes.
