  1. Happy birthday William! May the warm winds always fill your sails, treasure fill your hold, and love fill your heart! :)
  2. That first one is EXACTLY what I'm looking for! Thank you Quartermaster James! I also once saw one with a double-headed eagle. Anyone ever seen that one?
  3. Ahoy mates! I am doing a bit of research on 17th and 18th century Spanish naval cannons, and I am looking for any clear pictures or other depictions of the various coats of arms that were engraved or cast onto the barrels. Black and white line art would be fantastic, if anyone knows where I might find it. Thanks so much for any help you can provide!
  4. I am sorry too, Dorian. Very much so. I offer my sincerest apologies to you, to William, and to anyone else who I may have offended. I spoke with rashness and haste, and I regret every word. I had no right to be angry with anyone but myself, because I alone am to blame for all of this. I will be mailing your package tomorrow; I have finished your cartridge box, but I am including a couple of extra little things that you may like as well. I hope they may be of some use and interest to you and I hope that when you see them you will know that I am sorry and truly wish that we may be friends again.
  5. I intended to post these last night, but the batteries in my camera were dead and needed to be charged overnight. Cartridge box is nearly finished; the stiffening slats for the flap are almost all stitched in here. The toggle button and its loop still need to be dyed and attached, and the wooden box glued into place inside the leather shell, and just a little bit of touch-up with black dye where the leather needed to be trimmed a little. Dorian, it will be finished this weekend and shipped no later than Thursday of this upcoming week. I am sincerely and deeply sorry for any inconvenience and worry I have caused you by my tardiness in getting your project finished, and I hope that you may find it in your heart to forgive me for my wrong.
  6. More akin to presumptuousness than assumption on your part, sir.
  7. Don't you already have Braze's flag? . . . I mean I thought saw it on Facebook. No, I haven't seen it, mate. We finally got Jules', but as far as I know, we still don't have one for Braze.
  8. Look mates, allow me to set the record straight. There has been no exchange of money between Dorian Lasseter and myself in regards to one of my Whydah cartridge boxes. In trade for one of my cartridge boxes, Mr. Lasseter sent me a simple small wooden fid which was not much more than a sharpened stick, and it had a small pewter St. Barbara medal attached to its end with a length of artificial sinew. Neither item in and of itself, nor together, were equal to the value of one of the Whydah boxes, but I agreed to make one for Dorian simply because I want him to have one of the cartridge boxes. Yes, I am overdue in getting it out,and I sincerely regret that, and I apologize for it, but the box is nearly complete as I write this. I will post photos of it this evening to show its progress. Mr. Red Wake, since when do you presume to have any idea when any item in my shop was crafted, and furthermore, what business is it of yours for that matter? For your information, probably 95 % of the items that I have posted pics of in my shop were made several years ago, some as many as ten years or more. Some of them I have just recently gotten around to uploading the pics of. If I have completed any orders before anyone else, it is because those orders were paid for in cash and put food on my table, savvy? Sam is also correct in his post above, in the photo Mr. Lasseter linked to, I am demonstrating a method of attaching a toggle to a cartridge pouch that Sam manufactured himself, not me. The only thing you, Mr. Lasseter and Mr. Red Wake, will end up accomplishing with what you are doing right now is to succeed in pissing me off enough that I will simply send the little wooden "stick" back to Mr. Lasseter and sell this cartridge box when I finish it to recover what I have in it. Attacking me and even going so far as to question or ridicule my religious beliefs will not succeed in achieving what you want with me. Mr. Lasseter, I want you to have the cartridge box, and I want you to enjoy it. They are handy little cartridge boxes to be sure. Again, I offer my apologies for the extreme delay in getting it to you. I am man enough to admit my wrong for taking so long, and I am working hard to finish it now to make things right if I can.It is the last Whydah box I will ever make for anyone, and if you still want it, I will have it done this weekend and shipped by early in next week. If not, I can send your stick and medal back. Just let me know, as I am fine with whatever you decide.
  9. Stynky, am I gonna have to come up there and throw you in a sack and bring you to the pirate festival? ;) You might just have to do that. A few days ago I closed on buying a house here in Newnan. . . me treasure resources are a bit tapped out now. Congratulations my friend! Newnan is only about an hour and a half north of me...have sack, will travel...LOL
  10. Stynky, am I gonna have to come up there and throw you in a sack and bring you to the pirate festival?
  11. Stynky, so far the Leviathan members planning to be there are Willoughby Caught, Jeff MacKay, Morrigan Quicksilver, and myself. Grab Cascabel and Braze, and the three of you come on down! Heck, it's practically right in our back yards!
  12. I prefer a short hanger or cuttoe for close quarters fighting. This is my personal sword "Naja", a short, stout cuttoe. 23" overall length with a 16" blade. Almost more of a "Boucan" knife than a cutlass. Each of my crew are issued and armed with identical blades of this type. It is forged from the leaf springs of a military jeep and is based on a design by our friend Matt Stagmer.
  13. Ahoy mates! It is my understanding that several of our number will be in attendance at the Southern Pirate Festival in October. Since that may be the case, may I suggest that we use the opportunity to have a meeting of the Order, as it were, and discuss a bit of business amongst ourselves? Topics such as electing a captain, which directions we would all like the Order to go, etc. I realize that it is hard to get us all together in one place often, due to distance and finances, so perhaps we could seize any opportunities we have with each other to converse amongst ourselves? Just a suggestion. Your thoughts?
  14. I actually saw this blade up close at Fell's Point...what a BEAUTY she is! I love the grip! This would be a fine weapon for any sea captain!
  15. Oh no! I'm not questioning your design at all, Adam! I love that design, and I love this particular shape of blade. I am simply wanting to know if it is ok to use it for the 18th century, because I would like to use a knife like that for myself as well.
  16. My son once had a rigging knife that was very similar to the one Adam has made here. It had the same shaped blade, but it had maple scales pinned with brass pins to its tang. At the pommel end, the tang extended past the scales and was bent into a loop to accept a lanyard. The whole knife had a definite hand forged look to it. Here is a quick sketch of its profile, except for the lanyard loop, which I forgot to sketch. My question is, would this style of knife have been used in the GAoP, or the 1700's at all? Just wondering. I forgot to add that the knife was not large. It had a blade of about 4-1/4" and its overall length including the handle was 8".
  17. William Red Wake is indeed a master flag designer. His are the absolute best I have ever seen. If you wanted to take your design and have it crafted into a real flag, the Pyrate Trading Co. whose link you have posted here is a fine choice! I know the owner, Jeff MacKay, he is a fellow member of the Order of Leviathan/Devil's Dozen and is an exemplary fellow! Plus, he makes the finest pirate hats on the market... Be wary Captain Midnight et al - Captain McKay heads up the honorable, PIRATE Trading Company which should not be confused by the dubious Pyrate Trading Company of Shawnee KS , that may have struck a reef and sank. Jas. Hook Aye, Hook, you are right, I do believe I have gotten the two confused! Thank you for clearing that up!

  19. What's involved mate? I think Stynky would make a fine captain, but should he not wish to do it, I would definitely be willing to step forward and cast my lot if the Brethren would have me...
  20. Aye, The Cursed Few would be interested for certain. Keep us posted, mate! If you hold it, we will come.
  21. I'll be at the Beaufort, NC event in August, and also the Bald Head Island event. I hope to cross paths with ye..... >>>> Cascabel Cascabel, when exactly is the Bald Head Island event? I might be interested in coming to that one...
