  1. That was incredible, hitman, wonderfully said. A "huzzah" for you and all truckers!
  2. That's really cool. I love Johnny Cash, he reminds me of my grampa.
  3. My favorite would have to be "If I ever leave this world alive", tho I'm also very fond of Whistles the Wind and The Rare old Times. Has anyone ever heard the song "The Mariner's Revenge" by the Decembrists? Kinda creepy, but excellent.
  4. I like their definition of a privateer.
  5. Ouch. Really sorry about everything. I hope it gets resolved allright.
  6. It sounds fascinating, but there's no way I'd watch. I'll admit, I'm a chicken when it comes to the supernatural. I wouldn't sleep for a week. Especially since I haven't quite been able to decide yet if my house is haunted.
  7. One would think that more people would dress up on a college campus, but myself and my roommate seem to be the only ones. I'm wearing my medieval garb today; tonight I'm a Siamese twin.
  8. I'm ready for this election to be over; I'm just so sick of hearing politicians flinging mud at each other, and people arguing that if you don't agree with their point of view you must be stupid, and just politics in general. Not that all that will really end after the election, but hopefully it'll be a little less tense! I shoulda been a hermit.
  9. I'm not expecting trick-or-treaters; we live outside town. My friend Sam and I are going to be Siamese twins, joined at the hip. Last year we went Christmas Caroling on Halloween. I don't think we'll ever be able to beat that. I really don't know if we'll actually go anywhere, we're still debating.
  10. *raises her hand* :) Not really so gross. Didn't they find them in food stores, sometimes, along with the weevils? And even if they do turn into flies, the flies will lay eggs that turn into maggots. It's a vicious cycle. Still, imagine having to pick through your food to find maggots to put on your wounds...
  11. Sterile only immediately after it leaves the body, though.
  12. ^Yeah, I'm organizing the books in the attic into a library over Christmas break. I'm such a nerd that I'm really excited about this. <I'm really really cold right now, and while I love cold weather outside, it should not be allowed to come inside! >Like or dislike cold weather?
  13. I can just see the faces of my landlady and her husband when they find a Spanish flag in their yard. I don't think I care about the jewelry, but I want that claymore that he's got!
  14. If you're going to punish someone for crime, it should be a punishment. The prison up here has cable tv, a swimming pool, and tennis courts, warm beds and 3 good meals a day. The average citizen does not have all that. Why should prisoners?! Bring back the cat-o'-nine-tails!
  15. Yeah, the only problem with that is that Lincoln wasn't actually particularly interested in civil rights, that's just the spin that history has given it. But other than that, yeah, that's pretty bizarre.
  16. You picked a good time for it too! I don't know what the weather is like where you are, but here it's cold. Have tons of fun!
  17. That's how we got the coon, too. My brother found her on the road one night, coming home from fishing. After she got big enough to fend off the dogs on her own, we left her to run around outside all the time; coons get crabby if you keep them forever, so this way she could choose her own way about leaving. Haven't seen her since last winter. She was a cutie though. Those little paws...so much like baby hands! And when she felt like frolicking, she'd go bouncing across the floor like a rubber ball; it was hilarious! I miss her.
  18. That's very, very good, and very, very true! However, there's something about Ren Faires that I still enjoy!
  19. The most unique pet we've ever had. This is "Coon-child." In some ways she was almost like a human child; the little hands that just want to touch everything, and cling to you when they're afraid. An amazing animal.
  20. Well, I don't OWN any boat, but my family has 2 canoes. And I live on the best canoeing river in the US; the Missouri. I know naught of sailing, but now a canoe, I know my way around that.
  21. Makes me less disappointed about being single. Being incredibly picky has it's advantages.
  22. I wasn't even a twinkle in parent's eyes when Star Wars first came out, and didn't actually sit through and WATCH an entire episode until I was in 8th grade. My dad rented them and made us watch them, and I was hooked. Forever. Watching Star Wars with my bizzare roommate always brings up fun conversations, the comment I remember most being, upon watching the Death Star explode "It's just like Christmas...blowing up!"
  23. ^As in death? Quickly, by being shot in battle. You don't have to wait around for it in prison while they decide when they're going to hang you! <I cannot make good spaghetti sauce, but the only person who makes better apple pie than me is my mom. >Have any weekend plans?
  24. Finally decided I should look it up! Taken directly from sca.org: "The SCA is an international organization dedicated to researching and re-creating the arts and skills of pre-17th-century Europe. Our "Known World" consists of 19 kingdoms, with over 30,000 members residing in countries around the world. Members, dressed in clothing of the Middle Ages and Renaissance, attend events which may feature tournaments, arts exhibits, classes, workshops, dancing, feasts, and more. " I was wrong, it does include Renaissance, and evidently it's anything pre-17th century. I've a friend who wears Roman garb, and other's who push the "pre-17th" limit. It's pretty broad.
