I drive a bright blue, white-topped '76 Dodge Aspen. I've never seen another one like it. I've never had a problem finding it in a parking lot either! I used to call it "Blueberry", but after the deer committed suicide on my car, my sister dubbed it "Blue Crush." Not because it got crushed, but because it crushes things.

Leather. I love it. Not the kind that's used in cars or furniture, but the kind that you wear. It's best if it's brain-tanned, and has been smoked. Also...and this one's a bit odd, I suppose...I love the smell of horses. They have their own peculiar smell. Mmm, and wild rose hips.

Thanks Chole...it was a long drive, but definitely worth it! I may have to come back next year. Oh, the stories...

I would also like to say that it was a great event, and wonderful to get to meet some of ya'll. However, my camera and I were still getting used to each other, so my pictures didn't turn out very well. If anyone has some good ones they could sent to me, I would be very appreciative!

How acceptable would it have been to go about with one's hair done up, but without a cap of any kind? Or was it just not done?

I put up my Christmas tree yesterday. It's a little bitty cedar that my dad and I found in the road ditch. I still haven't decorated it yet, but it's just as well, because my roommate doesn't like the smell, so I'm going to move it upstairs.

I'd put up a vote for Mel Brooks. And Graham Chapman, he was my favorite of the Monty Python guys.

It's about mid-30's here. Not cold enough! I want snow, dangit!

I'm currently in South Dakota. There's less of us out here, so we tend to travel farther for events, and so I've gotten to know people from South Dakota, North Dakota, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa, Canada...odds are we know some of the same people.

I'm planning on coming...I really can't think of a better excuse for skipping classes on Friday! (Possibly Thursday too...that's a long drive.) I won't be piratically attired, but will be my usual Anglo-Saxon Aethelflaed-self. And I'm really glad I've got an entire month's Christmas break to make some new garb!

I turned 22 yesterday. Not that I consciously, actively did it, but it happened. I suppose that counts for something.

Makes me really glad I was raised by old-fashioned parents. That's just all too true.

My own opinion is that strictly as a historical source (I agree, it's not too good on geology and science), it's no worse than many others. While it's debatable whether certain events described actually happened, it's also known that others did. I'd say it's valuable as a historical source when it's also compared with other sources...but you have to do that with all sources; I've read few that don't get at least something wrong.

I really liked it. I concur, they had to have hired some spectacular athletes--some of those jumps were unbelieveable. I was originally concerned that it just wouldn't be right to have a blonde Bond, but he pulled off the part well enough that it didn't really matter.

How would you keep it closed? I don't see buttons or laces or anything...a belt?

Being ignorant of such things...which part is old fashioned, and which is "new," at least for it's time?

I agree with ya though...when you say you'll do something, it's only right that you DO it. I have a hard time with people who don't keep their word.
