had a wonderful tyme in hampton as usual ...flynt, steel, frangelica pern, crimson and black dog, dogg, mr glass and so many other made us feel very welcome again!!! and you folks are incredible hosts for voyaging pyrates .. the trip and the company of silkie with the sale of quite a few pistols and inquiries into several more blunderbusses and pistols made the trip more than worthwhile ....anyone who has pics that can send them as attachments to emails feel free ..since my camera didn't faire too well in the rain if any of those who saw something they liked at hampton but didn't have the means to pick it up then; wishes to contact me please feel free i will again think the entire blackbear's crew for their very warm welcome and the so many of you who asked after m' mate ;young josh ....his exams went well

i witnessed several shooters loading their guns (pistols and small signal cannon) directly from a can of powder ....and they were surrounded by spectators ....i didn't see a lot of the other skirmishes since i was working in my sales tent.... but i never saw premeasured loads or safe handling other than the instance i related .....

and lass i will probably have space for you in one of the tents i will be bringing if you want a bit more privacy than a tarp so a bedroll would be all the kit you'd need to camp :) -
i agree with you patrick ...from what i saw the last time i was there were some unsafe black powder practices ....i would like to see everyone drawing paper cartridges from a centrally controlled dispersement source ....with colour coded loads for pistols or long guns and pre-measured foil packed cannon charges and i agree with the need for safety inspections ..... the best way to keep everyone safe and secure is to have a standard that is to be followed ...also reduces the possible liability to ourselves and to the public.......

there are several motels within walking distance of the faire ...and flying into BWI batlimore/washington or into philadelphia international are about equal distance from the faire the one advantage to philadelphia would be direct train access to within 10 miles of the faire ...a reasonable taxi ride ...
