  1. try Home Depo or a similer store, they have ends for dowel rods for towels that would do nicely. you may have to buy onew to get the right length.
  2. As far as walking Sticks go, I'm using a broken oar with the edges of the blades and the shaft gone, I'll paint it black and add bits of decorative metal, with a knob I won't be able to do so much because the top is rectangular. I've never considered ribbons before, but I think I might wanna add them now. Lady Barbossa's working on my coat, but I am doing the 1660s-1680s so I needed an English Restoration Era Justaucorps.
  3. I've actually done further looking into this since I made this post. I discussed this with a friend who recomended I do my own regression with an antique, at least a hundred years old, to draw energy from the past in Natural surroundings. In this case it was a coin which actually came from a 19th century payroll ship that went down in the English channel, a gift from my Aunt, and the woods behind my mother's house. I am now 100% sure I was Captain Bellamy. I was advised, that memories stay with us throughout our lives, even from past lives. So I meditiated and was able to draw a good deal of memories, some very vivid, and they came to me in the same way a memory of this life would be viewed in the mind's eye. What the Phsychic told me was reinforced by some of the things I remembered, and soon all sorts of memeries were gushing back, some of which i wasn't even seeking. Furthermore, I had a very surreal experiance afterward of a storm outside after I'd gone in, and I believe that this was the remains of the storm the Whydah sank in relinquishing the last peices of my former self back to me. furthermore, I played some music while i was cleaning my house, and EVERY song that played for several hours pertained to the Bellamy/whydah myth in some way. I will eventually share the details of my regression, but at the moment I'm at a library and their computers are closing soon.
  4. I would think they'd keep the surgeons quarters/sick bay where it origonally was, or somewhere easily accessable, but protected, during a battle
  5. They are all on my flash drive, saved from when I was doing clothing searches to make the transition from early 18th to mid/late 17th century

Great Lakes Medieval Faire Pirate Weekend 2012 my mom maintains that "there is one thing more feared than a pirate... a pirate's mother" and that would be her standing to the far right. and myself at the left... there were a couple kids there so i recruited them and said we'd meet at midnight to dig up some burried treasure there.

  11. It's a pity I don't know how to upload pics to a forum... i have a treasure trove of them showing gentleman's clothing styles in the late 17th century.
  12. Firstly, let me explain by saying that if you do NOT believe in past lives or reincarnation, this may not interest you, please also don't knock what I have to say, as I only know what I've been told, true or not. Secondly, there are people who do believe, and furthermore belive their connection is strong enough to be reincarnated. And lasty, I can only get an impression for who I was, from what I was told, so because most of what we know comes from famous pirates, I can only look at them for an idea. So please share in this interesting story, and if you have your own suspicians or stories of readings, please share, I'm interested in yours too. I had a LONG talk about past lives with a psychic at Geneva on the lake and am pretty sure she is genuine.... the end result from the questions I asked her.... i'm pretty sure I was Black Sam Bellamy in a past life. she said she saw me I wareing my hair in a pony tail, had a combination mustach/goatee, which is the first facial hair style I ever wanted by the way. I also wore a lot of jewelry, and everything I do with any of my current pirate characters, was part of my past life, who she says I have a strong connection to. I was also apparently on the Coast of Maine at one point. (Ballamy came to maine and then massachusettes) She also saw me at the head of a table in a dark room making plans with men, and there was a shanty town, which could easily have been New Providence... I cammanded a three master with two gundecks, and flew the red 'no quarter flag' from the stern of my ship. also apparently, I wore a vest, but no shirt, and at sea a proper captain's coat. Apparently, i was also on my way to see my soulmate when I died. and I died 'Tortured' possibly ripped apart by sharks, which would fit in the way Bellamy died. (drowning) I was also a kind person at heart, but could do what was needed to keep command, and when you think about this, fits. (Edward England was mutinied because he was kind to captives, Bellamy wasn't, but was nicknamed 'The pirate Prince' for his generosity. I want to further place him if I can, like see if she can't make out the outline of a coast on charts in a cabin for one thing. So as I said before, If anyone one else has experiances with stuff like this, please share.

  14. I've been meaning to get my hands on a gentleman's cane for 'Shore Leave' and I found a place that sells canes with fancy metal heads.
  15. I am the type of pirate to command a large galleon.... one of the designs calls for a 46 gun dutch built french galleon. with four masts. I need a ship fitting Greyhound's character. Big, and grand, and elegant, but can turn deadly in an instant, but she is fast, she was a sucessful prototype, that greyhound stole.
  16. Once again, i am struggling with the design for my personal flagship. I tried drawing it again tonight, only to realize, that as far as the decks go, what i wanted to do with her design is very difficult to achieve the 'sweet spot' as far as where one of the aft decks end, and another begins, and the bulwarks and rails. I also remembered if would have made the ship a 3rd rate, this sweet spot woul've been achieved... any thoughts? I also don't know if any of you serious re-enacters/festival goers command large ship of the line flagship. i have only ever met two people who do. I'd be fine with commanding one if it's not that uncommon, but if it is, I'm going to have to fine tune my design for the smaller 46 gunner... So what are you commanding? Do you know of anyone who sails large warships?
  17. I have heard that some of the members of the Pub play Pirates of the Burning Sea... I am on Antigua Server and am looking for mates to sail with... If anyone is still playing and sailing Antigua, please post here, I'd love to have mates to sail in consort of. As of this post, I am a lvl 37 Buccaneer captain going by the name 'Greyhound Drummond' and currently command a Raa Heavy Frigate called the 'Bloody Defiance'
  18. Ok, this is the website http://www.whitepavi...com/pirates.htm The one i was recomending was the 'Privateer' style, but there are some nice other ones if u want something simple but nice. I also know some other sites, as well as sites that sell paterns if you feel inclined to make your own, and customize it.
  19. beautiful blade! I'm partial to the traditional scallop shell myself, but that is beautiful.
  20. If your going for First mate, you're going to want something simpler than the big fancy coat and feathered hat of a captain. I've played Mr Smee on a couple occasions and still had a VERY nice outfit... though I do prefer to play the Grand Gentleman Pyrate Archtype.... if you want, I can send you a link to a place that sells nice coats that would suit both captains and tars/ mates depending on the options you ordered. Though I will tell you, the coats are more buccaneer era, (1660s) than early 1700s
