  1. I know Jeff MacKay also sells a flintlock Carbine on his 'Pirate Trading Company' Website for $475. I'll post a link below since there are like two pirate trading companys and I always have a hard time differentiating between the two. Thank God for Internet favorites. http://www.thepirate.../flintlocks.htm
  2. Do ye have any pics? There's a treasure chest I'm trying to fill, but I've had to prioritize with me purchases and haven't bought any coins in bulk. And what kind of coins are they? Doubloons? Escudos? Pieces of Eight? Luis D'Or? Moidoras? Crowns? Or Sovereigns?
  3. I've read this book and I must say it is a very entertaining read. Mr Duffus makes quite a few valid points. And even if you don't agree with what he claims about blackbeard, the book and what he found out is still fascinating.
  4. Oh good lord... my best friend is gay and if he finds out about this I just know he'll tell his friend kaylee and they'll wear this just to get my goat.
  5. I took a look at the pics you put on facebook, very nice. Once i have some more money, I'll probably have you make me a custom Dussagge. but with a wooden handle I love dussagges, they're so cool, very unique, both artistic and a nasty peice of work as far as the blade goes.
  6. Yeah, the Treasure Beach part was very origonal, and very good, sadly I quit reading the last one about half or three quarters through. I forget why, but it was getting really good.
  7. A spaniard is fine, there is actually already a female spanish type captain in the first novel. But I should tell you, although the world this is set in is parralell to our own, it is more of a made up fantasy world, so while there are nations similar to countrys like England, France and Spain, it is very different. The Spanish parrallel nation is called 'Hapsburg' but they share many traits of Spain and her colonies in the 1600s, coincidentily, this is set in what would be the age of buccaneers. If that is acceptable to you i will include you as a once Hapsburg Admiral turned pirate guilty of embezzlement and with the other traites you mentioned.
  8. Interesting, your character is scottish right? There is a time in the book when i try to illustrate the nature of the main pirate haven by describing a pirate who frequents it and flies his kilt painted with a skull and crossbones as his jolly roger, sound like something you might do? or would be interesting to you?
  9. do you have a ship? if you're not a captain i could add you to the main character's crew and you may be a recuring character... or perhaps your cameo is a departure from the main character's crew and you heading off on your own?
  10. hmm... i could make you one of the patrons of a Tavern on the main pirate haven, give you a line to say in relation to a particular event or story the main character is telling? would that be alright?
  11. I actually alredy have a chinese fortune teller who travels with the main captain and writes prophicys for him, but the main character does spend some time in the barbary coast, and I have considered adding a ship of Sea Rom or sea gypsys to one of the books, i might be able to add you, just give me some character info.
  12. Iron Hand be a Lowdly-Quiet man of Mystery. He runs his ship like a Mercenery Hessian with a Grudge against the World, but he treats his crew with respect, as long as they do what's required of them. He's honest to a fault and able ta lie his way out of any situation, I mean twist the Truth when necessary. He's a good Captain to have as a Friend but a terrible one to have as an Enemy. He loves ta drink but expects his men ta be able to act soberly. There's non meaner and non kinder. Slow and Sure he is and rarely made the fool, least not more than once...Savvy? Very nice, I can definatly use this, I actually like this enough I'd put you on the fifteen men council but unfortunatly, I can't because I don't want to be unfair to anyone.
  13. I am currently working on writing a pirate/fantasy novel, hopefully a series, set in a parrellel world in the Golden Age of Pirates and I need to fill some character space, if anyone is interested in making a cameo in it I'd be welcome to mention them in passing in one of the books. but I can't reveal too much about the plot since i'm a little paranoid someone will steal my ideas. But if you are interested you should post here and give me some info like your pirate's mannerisms, nature, what they're known for and theur their ship(s) and its name, class and armenement.
  14. Nice costume mate! It's nice to see some variety and not the typical frock coat ensemble!
  15. alright just posted a new topic about the Devil's Brood. hopefully i'll get some takers.

  16. It is pretty good though right? This lass can spin a right fine tale o' the sea! I think there's also a sequel series to the Liveship Books. I ran accross a book by her in Borders... I think. It was called Dragon something. I picked it up and read the inside and a lot of the same characters from Liveship traders are present.
  17. Oh that is a beautiful Chair!!! I''ve been meaning to get a throne for my Captain's Quarters, too bad I can't have that one!
  18. I have read two of the the three Liveship books. They were pretty good, but a tedious red sometimes. And later in the series, as more characters are introduced and the plot develops, it jumps back and forth a lot so it's a tad hard to keep track of some things. But I do think they were a very entertaining read.
  19. Am back in school and I will declare a business Major so I can build a pirate festival on the Great Lakes.

    1. Lady Alyx

      Lady Alyx

I wish they would take the old Ports o Call in San Pedro and transform that village into a Pirate Village..surprised the Disney folks have not thought of that yet

though it would be cool for places like Tortuga to be restored to their former piratical glory.

  20. Am finally getting plans together for a meeting of the Devil's Brood Ohio, and have invited a couple crews to join , one said no, the other is pending.

  21. I once made a leather scabbard by taking some suede, folding over the top opening and stiffening it with more leather. Then folding the suede in half, putting with grommets on the edges, then I laced the grommets together with leather strips and I had a tube, then I curved the l;ine of grommets near the bottom and trimmed it so it was straight, with a curve that closed, It worked pretty well.
  22. Why not name it "Blood and Thunder" or "Madagascar Blood" ?
  23. The man stands after barely avoiding the misfire from the pistol, "I shall deal with ye later! He bellows, and leaves, Perrie! he shouts to one of the men at the longboats, We must be out of this wretched town and back anbord the Newe Moone by sunrise or else the dons shall have our heads!" "What of le brig Capitaine?" Asks the frenchman. "That Trojan horse be damned! twas nought but a tool to get into port! and as long as we are here, let us see what wealth Santiago has to offer!" a the crew from the brig, ninety pirates storm the fort and take the town, it is put to the torch, and the pirates march down the coast with their newfound plunder until they reach a small cove, anchored within it are a great 46 gun war galleon and two sixteen gun brigs. The pirates load up their plunder and set sail, leaving the burning city behind. They steer South, for Port Royale. "Capitaine, do you intend to go after the man who took the brig?" "Hardly" I reply, "The blasted thing was so leaky when we bought it in Port Royale it'll be on the sea bottom long afore they reach land, though I would like to discuss the Code with that rogue who took the Trojen Horse, He's fairly resourceful if he managed to out-wit jenkins, though the fool takes my orders far too literally, I said to aid me should I be in trouble, not bring the whole damn crew ashore. Hm... mayhaps an alliance can be forged." I mused as we sailed south, "Ship Ho- looks like a brig!" "Orders Capitaine?" Perrie asks. I consider it "General Quarters, guns ready and stand by to aid them if this is indeed our friend from Santiago but be wary."
