I don't recall ever seeing them referenced in anything I've read.

Ok, it is in my rental queue.

Secret confessions time... I have not seen Captain Blood. But I been tempted many times to read the novels. Which actors out there have flair? How about Dude who plays Wolverine in the Xmen?

Evidently Philly is pretty uptight about those sorts of things too. Or at least the Franklin Institute in Philly is. However, I would also like to add that the people who dealt with us reenactors were kind beyond words.

I love this time of the year... actually I find Fall to be the true "Most Wonderful Time of the Year." Pumpkins and falling leaves just go hand in hand with flintlocks and cocked hats and spooky stories, wouldn't you agree?

these are pretty neat... you can view either the original document or a transcript... http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/pathway...questions.htm#1

Fantastic. The kind of place I could call home... So what model Canon did you buy? I picked up a new camera at the beginning of the year. Went with a Sony Sure Shot. And I'm not so sure about it. I miss my Olympus UltraZoom. I think it took better pictures.

Old school D&D dwarf... made of *gasp* LEAD! by Minifigs, probably around 1980.

Hey, talk about being late to the party!!! Happy Birthday Rumba!

Oh, and that is the one I was referring to in my first post. Even if the Reenactor Lore about the breech plugs is true, it is still a decent pistol. I have two. Picked the last one up about 7 years ago for $100, and it was not MiB.

Someone is always paying attention...

40K. Never got into it myself. But I know lots of people who are. I love their LotR minis. If I had spare cash, I'd be buying those things left and right.

Seriously. For that matter... it is beyond very cool!!! I'm envious; I'd give my left arm for talent like that. Uhhh... except... yeah... I've admired your stuff for awhile. I think you may have posted a link to it years ago. Maybe in a "what is it that you do thread. As far as the game system Universe uses... pretty neat. Percentile systems are nice. And ye gods... I like action point systems, but I can't even think of the last action point based game I played. Probably FASA's Star Trek RPG. That was mid-1980s. But still, it works. Especially if you have a mechanic that handles interrupts. Recently, I've been looking at Spirit of the Century. Once D&D 4e gets a little stale, I want to do something less crunchy. Spirit of the Century is designed to be light on rules, with portions of the rules emphasizing the part the players take in the story, giving them ways to actually change the storyline through a mechanic called Fate Points. I think that's pretty neat.

From the description (old, Japanese) I suspect this is one of the ubiquitous Tower pistols made in Japan in the (late?) 70s(?). Reenactor lore says these babies should not be live fired due to poor manufacturing techniques. I've been told the breech plugs were either welded in place, or even worse, just shoved into the barrel. If you ever intend to fire it, especially live, do as Callenish suggests.

One possible solution that might make everyone happy... or not... notice at the bottom of the page, dead center, is the clickable text Lo-Fi Version. It leads to a VERY minimalist version of the Pub. Those who don't want lots of color are free to choose the Lo-Fi version. Cool function. I really like this software. Good choice Stynky.

My first mini... probably purchased and painted circa 1976. http://www.piratebrethren.com/dnd/my1stmini.jpg That's another reason why I like gaming. It provides my artistic side with an outlet. And I have to admit I miss painting minis. I have a whole boatload of pirates that I need to paint someday.

My pleasure sir. Yeah, we don't take ourselves too seriously. At times, our games probably have more in common with a Bugs Bunny cartoon or Monty Python than Rona Jaffes' Mazes and Monsters. The whole object of a game is to have fun, and if I get some good belly laughs out of a session then I've had fun.

That's cool. I want to get my kids into it too. I think they'll be ready in a couple years. When I first started playing back in the mid-70s my group included two 9 year olds and a 7 year old. The 7 year old was a little on the young side, as I recall, but the 9s did a great job. Yep, 4th edition. Having tried each, I think I like this version more than any previous version except the first. They've changed quite a bit to make things easy, but in so doing they haven't dumbed it down, just made the way the system works more logical. Previous versions were rules heavy. This version seems light, but that is because more things make sense. Rules are good. Fewer exceptions to those rules is very good.

Yeah, that takes the fun out of things. Getting bogged down in those sorts of situations takes you out of the moment. Thus far, we've been able to avoid that in our 4e game. It is a shame you are on the other side of... Baltimore... the state even, because I'd love to have you join our game. I could use a second female gamer.

LOL... yeah, or so Jack Chick thought... It's a weird world... grab as much weirdness as you can and hold on tight!

What genres do you run? Do you have a favorite system?

Here's a link to a site where you can check to see how color friendly your site is to the colorblind. Remember, some estimates say as much as 20% of the white male population suffers from some form of colorblindness. Though most place it more like 5%. As for fonts... I want that cool Futuristic font that they labeled everything with in Space:1999!

Haven't seen him in awhile, but in case he pops his head in here any time soon... Happy Birthday!!!

As pirates, we could put it to a vote, in the grand pirate tradition!!! And then if the vote doesn't go his way, Stynky could shoot us all, in the grand pirate tradition!!!

My opinion is colored by my partial colorblindness. All I ask, is a tall ship... no wait, that's what Masefield was asking for... all I ask, when/if someone colorizes this place, they take a couple minutes to read up on website design for the partially colorblind.
