I write in the pirate hunter's smarter brother within the rabble rousing forum. I have a keg of fine Madeira and some homemade Sangria for my friends. Muchas gracias for the kind words.

A short, stout old salt strides into the pub. On his belt, opposite his cutlass, he wears not a flintlock but a battered (but well-polished) tinwhitle. He strokes his beard and casts a gleaming eye about the room. "Ahoy, me hearties. Seamus the piper at yer service, and it's a very good day I be wishin' ye. "Professional musician by trade, Gentleman o' Fortune by choice, I be. Organist, whistler, piper and more, arrr. "These days, me service be giv'n in th'Hallow'd Halls o' Higher Ed, far from the briny deep, in the mountain and forests o' th' Pacific Nor'west - but to the sea me heart belongs. "Glad to be makin' yer acquaintences, says I."

Today I started crew training for the Kalmar Nykle in Wilmington Delaware. First day was orientation. * Applications and other paperwork was reviewed, we were given our "Crew Training Manuals"and our pet rope, had ID photos taken, assigned to mentors and toured the grounds and buildings and the ship. This is "Bert" My pet rope, along with the manual issued today. Bert will be with me all the time so they told us to name it. Bert seems to be very happy and has not attempted escape. I don't need to keep him on a leash because he is one. * They started with the introductions of the paid staff and the "mentors" and experienced volunteers. * We split at that …

So I eventually got around to making an introduction. I keep on getting too easily distracted here. Anyways, I'm 17 and am currently serving in the British Army as a Tanks Driver and soon to be Gunner. (That is assuming I stick it I may end up transferring into the Rifles to be with my Brother). My love for Pirates admittedly came from watching the Disney Pirates of the Caribbean movies and as you can tell from my username I have a fondness for Captain Avery. Anyways erm...if you'd like more information then feel free to ask =]

So to enjoy the summer I'm spending most of my time on the lake. Since I don't know how to swim I bought a raft that I float in to enjoy the waves, the water, the laziness. My buddy and I go to the lake with our tricorns on, i guess pirate garb on the water is a big hit and makes people smile. So do you have any stories of you on a normal day in your garb out on the water and what were peoples reactions!?

And not buying any virtual rounds. (It may just be me, but I think virtual rounds are silly.) My Misson ID has reached the coveted 1000 posts and the cool skull icon, so in keeping with the ancient tradition that I just made up, Misson gets the double skull and that ID gets retired. Misson is a(n allegedly) French surname, so I chose a French given name that fits my motif. The noted Captain Misson had no given name recorded and since he was fictional, there isn't any given name to research and discover. (I, of course, am not Captain Misson as I've never been able to reconcile myself to such a lofty title that I in no way deserve.) And so on and so forth. Mission = Car…

The first round of the Pyrate Sketchbooks isn't quite over yet..... but it was soooo much fun, and starting the second round on Halloween is just too much fun to pass up...... I think we have all the problems ironed out.... (more in a later post) Here's how it works.... Everyone that wants to participate, post thier name and approxamately where they live.... (so I can figure out the most efficient mailing route) Then you get a sketchbook (more about this in a later post) You do about 4 - 6 pages of whatever you want in the sketchbook... kinda set th' mood.... On or befor the first of the month, you mail the sketchbook to the person after your name on "the List".....…

Yar,I am an female adult of 37. My name is PrairieDuck, but people call me Ducky. I hail from Illinois,United States of North America. I'm tired of being a soft landlubber, and want to live the life of a pirate instead. One of my favorite movies is Cutthrought Island. I'd love to hear stories of female pirates. This avatar will do until I can loot one from PhotoBucket. And oh yeah,I like ships and treasure too.

Ahoy to all. Thursday I was in North Liberty, Iowa to help with festivities. RAGBRAI (Registers Annual Great Bike Ride Across Iowa) rolled into North Liberty yesterday with at least 20,000 cyclists. Granted only about 15,000 stayed in North Liberty the rest either stayed elsewhere in surrounding communities like Coralville or Iowa City or Cedar Rapids or elsewhere. Or even called it the end of the line for them. North Liberty came up with a theme for this grand event... that theme was PIRATES! Yo'rs truly couldn't pass this up when she learned of it and have been in contact with someone for a couple months to help out with the grand event. Yesterday it all mater…

I am home safe and sound, hope all of the folks that attended have the same good fortune. Special thanks to Rats and the Crew of the Archangel, and the Great Lakes Pyrates for putting up with me all day (not too many folks can do that ya know! ), and making my trip up there a very special and memorable one. More later, but it's time to crash. Bo P.S. If anyone got any photos they would be willing to post, my Blondiewench and the kids are chiding me hard for forgetting the camera. Any help would be greatly appreciated! They are on me pretty hard about the beach and battle. They are already planning on going up with me next year. Thanx!
