Sorry if this was already posted somewhere else or this is the wrong place for this... http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/world/africa/article6864367.ece Pirates choose wrong target - a French warship - Times Online In the darkness of the Indian Ocean, a bulky French refuelling vessel looked like easy pickings for two boatloads of Somali pirates as they drew alongside early yesterday. The brigands had started their usual pre-boarding drill, letting loose with Kalashnikov assault rifles, before they noticed the 40mm cannon and missiles on the deck above them. The fat merchant ship was, in fact, La Somme, the 18,000-tonne flagship of the French naval operatio…

If you look to the left there you will see my rank as plunderer...yes it's true, i'm no longer a first mate and have been promoted here on the Pub. I promise this time, my promotion will not go to my head. I plan on keeping myself grounded. So with that, I would thank all the little people whom have helped me this far azlong. I know, i know, all the first mates are wishing they could be in my shoes right now, but like verything in life, you have to earn it. So thank you and if any of the lower ranked sailors out there need any guidence from a "plunderer" please feel free to just ask....I'll only make you get my rum every so often and wash my dirty slops. Please don't thin…

So I've put a few things up on the wall.. My map of Ireland circa 1693 ( birthday present), mounted my Doglock under the map. Put a few of my misc out for display, What do you think? Still have window treatments and such to put up and few more pistols up for display... I built a wall safe and hinged a pic frame over it......see?

Well today I managed to almost finish the cutting, grinding, and sanding of the walnut stock for the new doglock pistol. The barrel and lock now fit nicely and the trigger guard is formed in wax so one more casting and she should be ready to complete.

I wish to redeem my good name, after the lurid tales circulating about the pub, regarding my fascination with ladies' bodices. While it is true that I have been known to scamper about certain women's foredecks, my visits were never uninvited, and I would never force myself upon a lady. Thomas the Tit Mouse, Esq.

As the greatest holiday in the Whole Wide Worlde approaches us under billowing sails, it is time to ask the company...What's Yer Favorite Pyrate Phrase? Could be from literature, like, say..."Bring aft the rum, Darby!", or historical, like "A short life and a merry one!", or it could be one entirely made up. And as I be the bloke askin' this, it be only fiar, belike, that I be the first to toss out a phrase. Collect them all, and be the first on yer block to be the first on yer block. My fave is one I made up: "Scupper me hide!" Of course, working in a library as I do, sometimes I say "Scupper *yer* hide, ye bilge-breathed barnacle encrusted lubber, ye'd best be bela…

09-09-09 Not only does the date look good in marketing promotions, but it also represents the last set of repeating, single-digit dates that we'll see for almost a century. For those of you like me who like those funky iteresting facts.. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/32735942/ns/technology_and_science-science/?gt1=43001
