I be Gypsy Bladesmith. There be Gypsy blood in me so I tend to go where the bounty be good for the taking. I fancy sharp pointy things. I make tools that slip silently to there duty and some that scream there presence. I have likein for the rum and am in search of its merry. It's not me fault but was guided here by 1stMate Matt in search of a fine rum recipe. I be wanting to brew me own so wish me fare sailin and share me plunder when it be ready. Gypsy

MerryD had surgery the other day on her rotator cuff. She wanted me to drop a message here to let you all know she's doing fine. She'll pop on when she is able to. Send her your thoughts and prayers. :) ~Lady B

Maybe it just me, but it seems like everyone has times when they can use a a healthy dose of something positive. Something inspirational or sensical or even just a break from the daily rhetoric the media feeds us about terrorism, violence and threat levels - the political punditry and the fact that the number of hate groups around the country has increased by more than 50 percent since 2000, according to the Southern Poverty Law Center and all that other stuff about life that can just feel oppressive after awhile. So, here's thread where maybe when you need a healthy dose of something better, you can poke in and maybe find it. (9 hells! I've gone granola!!) The Wolf Yo…

A belated but still heartfelt Happy Thanksgiving to one and all. I do apologize for being gone so overly long. Life has been chaotic for the last few months but seems to be settling a bit. Either that or this be just the calm afore the real storm hits! At any rate, I am glad to be back among folks that make sense and do not make my head hurt with their .... issues (or subscriptions in some folks case). I be off to look over all the new things that we've here in the pub ... I've quite a bit of catching up to do on postings, I see and I've an official like posting to make to end some mundane business o' mine. Fair Winds an Followin' Seas... Captain Emerald

Some of you may know already from my facebook posts that my 9 year old nephew was put into the hospital recently for a brain tumor. Brennan had massive headaches and they went from La. to Houston for treatment. The tumor is really big and at the base of his brain. Recently he had a biopsy done and they sent him home as they awaited results.... They came in today. Brennan has a really aggressive cancer. It is so bad the Dr.'s told my step sister that they held no hope for him, that if it had been found in an arm or a leg they would have amputated the limb. But with it being so close to the brain, so big and so aggressive they think even with him starting chemo that …

After the eye patch and the peg leg the thing that says pirate is a parrot on your shoulder. I have two sun conures. I acquired them as a birthday gift, then got a book about parrots telling me they are probably the loudest parrot. So my hearing is shot and I got bird s#!t on my clothes,I didn't have to lose an eye or leg.

I've been trying to find the title for a movie I watched years ago as a kid I've asked many people over the years and no one was yet able to give me the answer. The movie is older it was in color, not sure if it was originally black and white and color was later added. one of the things that I remembered about it was their was a crazy old man that had a map or part of a map tattooed on his chest. That's all I can remember from it. Any Ideas?

Hello all, The name is Nathan (that's my real name, Nathaniel was an embellishment that sounded more period), 19, and I'm from Minnesota, USA. I'm a professional actor that wanted to make myself a tricorn hat and was led here, after reading through some of threads I thought this might be a great place to explore a lot of creativity in me that never comes out. I've always wanted to make my own costumes for different things, and this would be the perfect excuse for it, not to mention that then I would have a costume for the Ren Fest. I really can't express just how excited I am getting reading into all the amazing things that go on in this community. It's truly a wonder t…

Absolutely great to see the folks at the Lock House gathering this weekend. Blackjohn, Callenish, Saltypots, Hamish, Michael Bagley, Kate Souris, Dorian Lassiter and his lady (sorry, I'm lousy with names), Crimson Corsair - I'm sure I'm missing names here. Friday night was a bit of an adventure, camping when it's below freezing is always a special time. But great weather, some grand skirmishes, wonderful food, an new cannon tested, and some lively talk around the campfire, and of course, rum, cider, and beer. What more to ask for?? Looking forward to doing it all again at PiP. Hawkyns

Generally, I keep these things to myself, because - let's face it - is there any topic more unrelentingly BORING than one's health problems? Not really. All the same, I am having some tests this week which sound rather like medieval torture (involving needles stuck in muscles and electrical currents. WTH? Am I trapped in the movie TAKEN!?) called an electromyogram and a set of nerve conduction studies and I made the mistake of looking at what they use these tests to diagnose and there are some pretty serious things on the list and I don't want anything to do with any of them. So, whatever good thoughts you can send, prayers, spells, animal sacrifices (but don't sacrific…
