Hello all! We are three student researchers at Flagler College in St. Augustine, Florida. Historical reenactment and interpretation are a major part of St. Augustine life (the oldest continuously inhabited European-established city in the continental U.S.!), so for an anthropology class we've decided to study both communities, locally and nationally, face-to-face and online. I've been a pirate in hiding for a while now, only in the last year or so have I been coming out in public more frequently. My name is Jason and I write programs for apple devices. I currently live in Orlando, but the wife and I have plans to move to St. Augustine. We love St. Augustine, it's a city full of history plus the wife already has a job there . If by chance you find your way in St. Augustine I definitely recommend the Pirate and Treasure Museum. It's a little small, but it offers a big experience. Anyway, just thought I'd introduce myself to all you pirates out there.

For those of you who know my 10 year old nephew is dying of cancer. He is hanging in there and wishes to touch as many people as he can before going to heaven...his words. Those of you who've been around know we've done this for the last several years with a reasonable amount of success and a few of us/you were looking forward to it again this year. I have a booth at an event coming up but I've never had to set up a "period" style vendor booth before. I have a basic white pop up canopy and plenty of decorations for the tables and lots of props but need something besides the canopy for this one. Ahoy mates, More information will be coming shortly, however I wanted to post now and let you know that one of our own Pirate brothers has suffered a tremendous loss. Many of you are good friends of Captain Bad Jack, who is the lead singer of the very popular Pirate Band *Pirates of the Black Swan* Last Saturday his home was destroyed by fire and while most importantly his wife made it to safety, it took the lives of his 3 dogs and 7 cats. I have a pattern....1750's Officer/enlisted/civillian coat pattern in a size 42..... I used it to make a caot pattern fo myself. I am a 46 in the shoulders and modified my fabric a tad.
