This is the "Two-Word, Alternating-Word, Word-Association" thread. It is like the One Word word association thread, but there is more to it. Every time you post you post two words unrelated to each other, yet related to the two unrelated words posted before you. There would be an invisible X between the post before you and your own post. From the post preceding yours, the first word connects to your second word, and the second word connects to your first word. Say the first person, me, begins with: Tree--Refridgerator The next person associates a word with the last person's second word Groceries-- and then follows that with a word that is associated with …

Ahoy, me lovelies! I notice that there's quite a few other women among the pub members, and I thought it might be nice to have a place to discuss girly things (with pirate overtones, of course). After all... the sea life can be tough on a grrrl! The sun and salt wind can wreak havoc with your skin and hair ... not to mention what haulin' ropes does to your nails. Happily, the sea also provides some lovely spa treatments to soothe our bodies and souls: bath salts, natural sea sponges, seaweed facials, etc. Personally, I suspect I'm part mermaid. I love to soak in the bath! And, I noticed that Lush Cosmetics was also aware of many women's pirate fantasies, coming out…

So you are at the Ren Faire. Maybe you have enjoyed a little beverage. You feel a wee bit naughty and you are a pirate. What have you done?

As it is now harvest season, and I am buried in tomatoes and cukes, I was just curious as to who on the pub also likes to garden? What do you grow? Veggies, herbs, flowers or all three? What do you do with what you grow? Maybe toss in some of your gardening tips, or favorite varieties of plants.

On Sunday, at Capt. Grey's house there was a pool party and Pinewood Derby race for the San Diego Star Wars Society group. I worked hard on my car, I sawed and filed, painted and decorated my own car without the use of fancy dremel tools and gadgets that others had. Here's the pictures, oh and my car WON! It's my mother-in-law's 70th birthday soon. I need to think of a present. I decided to try a Google search, but it wasn't helpful. I can't quite see her wearing the 70th Birthday Middle Finger Salute Thong Odd to think she's the same age as Kris Kristofferson. She behaves more like a contemporary of Queen Victoria. Oh sigh, Hester

And what's really sad is that there really are people who do this! I've heard it a lot stuff like this on my many visits to Disneyland. Guests will ask a Cast Member what time the 3:00 parade is or a Cast Member will be standing at the register, be wearing their name tag and they'll be asked if they work there. My mom had that happen to her when she worked at JC Penny's years ago. She had her name tag on, was counting out the register when this lady asked if she worked there. My mom looked at her and with a straight face said, "No, I'm robbing the place." The lady said okay and then walked away. *shakes head* Geez! lol!

I work in a business office and while at work I like to dabble in computer graphics. I was at one time a graphic designer. My home computer is still not functioning correctly so I don't have the graphics programs loaded to use. Here is my dilemma. I have created something in PowerPoint (cringe) that I want to save as a high resolution jpg. So far it hasn't worked to my satisfaction. If I remember correctly PowerPoint (cringe) graphics can be copied and pasted into Illustrator or some other vector graphics program and saved at a higher resolution than from PowerPoint (cringe). Can anyone help me out? Is any designer willing to even open PowerPoint (cringe)?

Have you ever been forced out of a place you call home without cause? Lost in a vast ocean and searching for something to cling to? Looking for an Island somewhere to roost until you can find your way home again? I felt like that this morning...

What an odd pairing eh? This was during Comic Con last month in the evening for the Masquerade. This Barbossa was part of this Pirates cast that put on a funny skit. They told the whole story of the first movie.....in less than 5 minutes!

We've started the very, very beginning steps for housebuilding. Okay, just clearing out some of the brush and scrub where we want to build, but you gotta start somewhere... This will be the view off of our front porch, of a lovely pasture -- will often be plowed and not that lovely to some: You can't see it in this picture, of course, but directly ahead will be the Brazos river, easy walking distance past the treeline: And this is what I really like, what will eventually be the view from the back porch: And the machine we're using to clear the place, gotta love a Caterpillar:

My companion Boats whom I have been with for 12 years finally gave me a real ring. It's to solidify our realationship- I gave him a beautiful ring for his birthday back in March. It's a solitare 1/3 cut Marquise diamond on a white-gold band. It's gorgeous and I just keep looking at it....ah......yea baby! I finally got a really good sized diamond! Whooo-hooooo! Just for the record, I cannot get married. If I do I will loose my SSI benefits upon which I survive- because the State and Government would assume Boats could cover my costs, which he can't. But if we ever win the lottery.... :)
