Ok I've been out of the advertising game for some time... ANd I'm wondering as to which consumer level video equipment can give the best resolution, reproduction and flexibility for making videos and such... Chole..... You out there??? I know you have some background here??? I'm looking to create some promo trailers and vinnettes... And also be able to put some on the web. I know the sound recording is usually garbage for may of these.... But since I've been out of the game for the last couple of years, things progress and become obsolete fast!! Any advice

I was standing on a loading dock yesterday with a guy, and while we were talking a bald eagle flew overhead about forty feet up, fairly close. I think it was a younger one, wingspan probably less than four feet. The WI DNR has been reintroducing them in the area (central state), although they're pretty common on the Mississippi. It was cool to see, and they really are majestic birds (despite Ben Franklin's low opinion of them). It's nice to see that kind of natural beauty in the course of a day. Made me feel good.

DJ KEKE-LUV holds this world record no one else in the USA holds. This is what happened, last Monday April 2nd in my city of Spokane Washington DJ Keke Luv raised money for a child abouse foundation raising over $10,000 by playing on the air for 125 hours with NO SLEEP. The rules went as fallowed: - Must play song no shorter then 2min and no longer then 6min - Must talk after every song and say the time so you know it's live - Has to play music even when off the air during a commercial - IF HE FALLS ASLEEP HE IS OUT Well he did it, went 125 hours with no sleep. It was kinda funny near the end of it because he was getting a little loopy and weird www.live1045.com

...that it's directoer, Bob Clark was killed this morning in a carsh on PCH when he was hit head on by a druck driver. Also killed was his 22 year old son. At least he leaves behind a Christmas classic we can all still share during the Holidays but I doubt that is of little comfort to his family. Just sharing. We all feel pretty awful around here today. He was a good, good man.

Well here are the rules men (or women ) grow out your beard as long as you can and take pictures of the progress. Even style it different ways would be fun to see. I just started growing mine but plan on reaching 1 - 1 1/2 feet long! (if you think this would be better in the beard poll go ahead and move it)

Every once in a while we all get to experience a kind of surreal accomplishment that we would have laughed about as children. For me, it's cat litter. Yes, after years of making art for several dozen small projects with meager circulations, I am now beginning to go national on a cat litter bag. Flattering...? Yes...but in a very surreal sort of way. I mean, my art is now advertising a product that felines the world over will be pissing on. It occurs to me that my art now leans towards performance art in that respect. Still, I am flattered to learn that the shelf tags that accompany the product are being stolen on a regular basis by an admiring public. Odd, but t…

This is a game (I guess it's a game) where you list something you're working towards explained in two parts. Part first - Near: a small thing you're working on right now. Part second - Far: the overarching end you're trying to get to by completing the "near" part. I guess you should only list one thing, although I haven't a reason to make that a specification of the game, so feel free to ignore it if it makes you happy. I'll start: Near: Building a shelf on wheels to fit in one of the doorways to create a "pantry-effect" and also add a hidden door to the room. (No, I don't know why I'm adding a hidden door to my kitchen - someone suggested it and I just sort of lik…

I tried this years ago in a different forum and it was a big hit so lets try it here. RULES: 1)One person asks to see a picture of anything (try to think of something crazy, funny, weird) 2) The person below respawns when they find and or take the picture by posting it then asks to see a picture of there wish, and so on and so on. HINTS: Makes the game a little funner if instead of finding the pictures online you take them yourself. LETS GO!!! I want to see a funny looking cat with something on it's head

I just saw these certifcates for crossing the line(equator) for the U.S. Navy that is in our maritime collection. They're from the 1920s. Very colorfulsigned by Davy Jones himself and signed by his scribe (Davy Jones) Neptune Rex King of the Raging Main. I'm going to try and get a copy and/or post an image. It may be awhile since it isn't cataloged yet.

I'm adopting Red Cat Jenny's idea from her "Pirate Plunder Collection" post. Here is the deal, I'm moving into my own place, yep finally getting out on my very own and I want to make a pirate bar. I've been asking friends for help but they are few and not "pirate" enough. So here is the deal, I'm looking for wonderful things to put around the bar from coins, sailor rope, shells, jewls (fake), old rum bottles, pictures of you in your garb to fram around the bar, ect. I'd happly send you items in return, depending on what I can find. Even a thank you letter. I have a P.O. Box that I can PM you if you just PM me Thank of it as a moving out, 21year old birthday wish.…

[Editor's Note: This was split out of the Gas Prices Thread. I read a lot about successful people and I thought it might be an interesting thing to discuss on its own merits.] There was a study, and I forget who did it, but the results showed vast majority of the very successful people throughout US history came from the most desperate circumstances - deaths in the family at a young age, every malady you can think of, desperately poor beginnings - you name it. Yet they rose above their situations to succeed. If you want proof that you can succeed despite whatever you're facing, take your problems and find someone who had the same problems that you're complaining about …

I just received a notification that Firefox wants to update itself and It reminded me that I switched from Windows Explorer to Firefox about 3 months ago after over a year of subtle nagging from a friend of mine. I should have switched that year ago instead of resisting. No more banner ads! Yay! (Sorry if I sound like a advertisement, but it really seems to be every bit as good as Explorer in most ways and significantly better in others.) My only gripes are that you have to download a bunch of add on programs to make certain things work (like removal of banner ads - which, so far, appears to be almost flawlessly executed) and that certain things just flat don't work. For…

Anybody up for mentioning movie quotes? Not necessarily pirates films. This needn't be a contest either, just something that sticks in your mind. OK, The Big Lebowski: Jesus Quintana: You ready to be fucked, man? I see you rolled your way into the semis. Dios mio, man. Liam and me, we're gonna fuck you up. The Dude: Yeah, well, you know, that's just, like, your opinion, man. Jesus Quintana: Let me tell you something, pendejo. You pull any of your crazy shit with us, you flash a piece out on the lanes, I'll take it away from you, stick it up your ass and pull the fucking trigger 'til it goes "click." The Dude: Jesus. Jesus Quintana: You said it, man. Nobody…

Anyone want to play a song lyric game? Someone writes a few lines from a song and then everyone else trys to guess what song it is and who sung it. Once someone gets the answer they get to ask the next question. I'll start: I know someday you'll have a beautiful life, I know you'll be a sun......
