piratescave Posted December 29, 2005 Posted December 29, 2005 Lady Pirate, check the posts about tricorn hats. Very interesting (from the beginning).
~Lady Pirate~ Posted December 29, 2005 Author Posted December 29, 2005 I already skimmed the post. Saw it a few minutes ago. Thanks for the tip though. A pirate by heart, a pirate in my soul I always steal whatever I need, no self-control I always long to sail my ship and explore the sea So you'd better beware me! Because Captain Pirate is near. And a girl too so fear Don't you dare to question me and I might let you live I fight and kill those without skill So surrender now...and bow!
Captain Tito Posted December 29, 2005 Posted December 29, 2005 I also enjoy British comedy series though. Like Are you Being Served or Keeping Up Appearances. Dunno if they air those in the US though. Oh yes m'lass and they are hyserical We have a network called Public Broadcasting . PBS for short. (that started in the 1960s sometime) which mainly gears toward Educational programming for children and adults. There are shows that the whole network will show, like the longtime Science show NOVA, and then each local channel can pick up its choice of a wide variety of programming. British comedies are a big choice. In fact, both those shows are carried by the local channel in my area right now. :) I also live close enough to Canada, that my cable network gets a CBC station, and they carry some too. I've also seen Bless Me Father, Benny Hill, Dave Allen at Large, Mr. Bean, and The Eastenders. Yeah, politics tends to be a big deal in American Media. The hard thing about all those 70s-80s mini series' was that they were SO long, and you had to have the real time to watch them, or you missed alot. Nowadays, what they "call" miniseries' are only 2 nights. Have Parrot Bay, will travel. WILL SHARE TOO!!!
~Lady Pirate~ Posted December 30, 2005 Author Posted December 30, 2005 Mr. Bean is hilarious. I saw Bean the Movie in the cinema. Really cracked me up. I'm going to Rowan Atkinson's new film soon. There's a lot of snow here so we might not go tonight (as planned). According to the weather forecast it was best to stay inside. So we might reschedule. We'll see. I'm looking forward to seeing the film. I love going to the cinema. We saw Narnia last week. It was pretty good. My favourite film this year is King Kong though. It made me cry. I'm such a sissy. That ape died and I got all sentimental. A pirate by heart, a pirate in my soul I always steal whatever I need, no self-control I always long to sail my ship and explore the sea So you'd better beware me! Because Captain Pirate is near. Captain Tito Posted December 31, 2005 Posted December 31, 2005 We've had snow, but our thing right now is ICE and freezing rain. So its not that great to go out here either. I haven't seen the new King Kong, but I saw the older 2 versions years ago on tv. They used to show the original alot when I was like 12 or 13, on Saturday afternoon movies (on the channels that didn't cover sports) The 1976 version was shown on cable movie stations alot years ago, and later on some afternoon movies. They had no choice but to pattern this remake after the original (where he climbs the Empire State Building) because in the 76 version, he climbed the World Trade Center and it wouldn't be right to do that one, even in digital graphic It is sad when Kong dies in the end. The original treated it very ruggedly, but the 76 one was very passionate about it, with very bittersweet music at the end. That version made you feel more for Kong, than the original. Oh I saw an add today for another period film, about Cassanova. I didn't catch who it stars, but its either just released or releasing in the next week. Have Parrot Bay, will travel. WILL SHARE TOO!!!
~Lady Pirate~ Posted December 31, 2005 Author Posted December 31, 2005 Casanova stars Heath Ledger and Sienna Miller. And I really want to see it! So does my family and our family friend who always takes us to the cinema. So maybe we'll go in a few weeks. Would be great. I never saw the original or 1976 version of King Kong. But I really felt for Kong in the 2005 version. It was really sad when he died. I think everyone was moved. Captain Tito Posted January 1, 2006 Posted January 1, 2006 was wonderin if any of ye may drop anchor near or abouts the shores of Connecticut USA? Aye a bit far from me. I never saw the original or 1976 version of King Kong. Aye lass both be worth renting. The 76 one launched Jessica Lange's movie career (she played the damsel). The original had more monsters for Kong to fight off, and the damsel was more afraid of him overall, I thought. :) Have Parrot Bay, will travel. Hey, did any o'ye see any coverage of Paris ringing in the New Year? I was wondering if they always make it as if they are "blowing up" the Eiffle Tower, or if that was just for the dramatics of the New Millenium back in 2000? Have Parrot Bay, will travel. I remember, I was dancing as the clock stroke midnight in 2000. It seemed fun to dance into the new millenium. Captain Tito Posted January 4, 2006 Posted January 4, 2006 I remember, I was dancing as the clock stroke midnight in 2000. It seemed fun to dance into the new millenium. Wowww I was too. We were still living in SC and right after they dropped the ball in NYC, I started Salsa-ing around our apartment. They showed coverage over here all day that year, starting with some Island out in the Pacific that was the first official "land" to ring in the New Year. With every new time zone, they showed each major city's countdown. I remember they showed Amsterdam Have Parrot Bay, will travel. Mad Matt Posted January 4, 2006 Posted January 4, 2006 Except fer 3 years, I've slept through New Years...the times I was awake, it was 'cause I was workin' You will be flogged. And God willing, come morning, you will be flogged some more.

Or was no one around? Fun they showed Amsterdam. Never celebrated the new year in the city though so I'm sure that's quite different. You might also toddle over to the Beyond Pyracy forum and check out our pyracy.com map thread. At the very least you can see who you might be near from the forum. "You're supposed to be dead!" "Am I not?"
