In addition to the City ripping up the sidewalk in front of the house immediately to the south of me, the next door neighbours on my north side have contractors on ladders drilling holes in the 2nd storey of their house for some reason. Installing an awning, maybe? Retrofitting for earthquakes? My house is desperate for me to finish the spring cleaning (but I don't want to). Friends have decided at the last minute that we should attend the anniversary event at our old high school this weekend (in another town and I don't drive) so we've been e-mailing madly trying to make the arrangements. Need to buy a baby gift. Haven't sent my m-i-l's Mother's Day gift yet, or my s-i-l's belated birthday gift. Need to buy two Father's Day gifts. Need to buy dance slippers for the ball next Friday. Need to give up eating entirely, so that I can look slim for the "surprise" high school reunion this weekend and fit into my Regency ballgown the following week. My sister phoned yesterday, to whine about how whiney our elderly mom is. Phoned my mom to check on her, and yes, she's particularly whiney at the moment. Need to visit her this weekend. Have to finalize our summer holiday schedule and notify those concerned. Have to book a flight for August, and arrange an anniversary party via very long distance. Hmmm... wonder if it's too early in the day to start drinking Pimm's? Perhaps just one glass with my lunch. Never traveled this far without my husband along, so it's very weird for me to be packing, and he's not. I AM the disaster scenerio queen, and have run through my brain every conceivable problem, disaster, snaffoo, that could occure. If something does happen - I'm ready everything from getting on the wrong plane, to going down in flames! LOL Funny thing, once I get on the plane, I'm fine. It's just big commerical airlines I have issues with. I've flown with my Dad in bi-wing planes with open cockpits, where you wear the goggles like Snoopy. I flew to Oregon and back in my Dad's Cessna 180 and loved it. Even flew it for about an hour. Everything 'll be absolutely fine Ransom. :) Thrilled and eager t' see ya at Port Washington! Yer gonna have a blast! Currently... I'm just going. Not in any bad moods or whatever. Not on major highs either. Happy for Port Washington this weekend. Want to see PotC AWE again, not sure when though. Classes are rather mellow this semester: Drill Team, Trail Riding, Western Horsemanship. Had fun this morning playing a makeshift polo riding bareback with cheap lightweight brooms and beach balls. T'was very fun. Tomorrow... is a water balloon fight... bareback! Hoping to finish my new waistcoat by this weekend. I, unfortunately, won't have the new frock ready... nor other new outfits ready. Bummer. And I was hoping to have a Davy Jones outfit done by now... hahah! Yeah Right! That one is proving to be more of a challenge than first thought. I knew it was going to be a challenge, but didn't expect it to be THIS challenging! I survived the trip to Florida and Kentucky. Didn't get to the Magic Kingdom to go on the PotC ride. Bummer. I was denied that joy and Bday wish. Hopefully I will still be able to go someday soon. Went camping this past weekend with the family. TOok my cat, Magellan, with...and he did fantastic! LOVED camping. I'm thrilled cause I had imagined Magellan as a good pirate kitty to take to events. He's a rather friendly kitty and gorgeous. Loves getting out and about, car rides.. Chiropractor says I have a couple of pinched nerves, and that the coughing was probably the last straw so to speak.
