  1. i actually bought the disc not too long ago.... some of the characters i had a real problem with... especially the guy with the chain... kinda reminded me of those old cheesy martial arts films where one guy holds back an entire army armed with only a gardening trowel or highly proficient in using a piece of silverware as a deadly weapon. lots of imagination going on here, but geez, at least use it in the right direction... right now, i have to go practice using my caulk gun as a weapon of defense.. you know.... in case my family is attacked by ninjas or some silly crap while i'm caulking the house....
  2. but.... it does look pretty good planning on making a few for my crew sometime...
  3. actually the one in the background is a ford 1 ton 11 passenger van we've been looking for a replacement vehicle for me for quite awhile, now... spending up to 500$ in gas for further away jobs was starting to hurt too much. this one gets almost double the gas mileage.. so i guess she suprised me with my replacement work vehicle on father's day... hey rumba, wanna 1992 minivan, 200xxx plus miles, and here's the big selling point----- REAL simulated woodgrain siding it makes everyone else jealous as hell
  4. not piratical, still neat... a 2000 chevy tracker.... needed to replace the old minivan... still runs, but is getting old ( 200xxx plus miles ) just wanted to share.... isn't my wife great ??
  5. anyone bring their dog to PiP ?? are pets even allowed ??? the main reason i am asking is because i don't think our new dog would fair well at a local kennel hotel for a few weeks. we ended up with her because she was "unadoptable" at the local humane society. she tore up 2 or 3 cages (don't remember the total) , acted nuts, and nobody who saw that wanted her.... hence, she was to be put to sleep. ...can't spell euthenized (sp.?) since then she has settled down nicely....we just have to make sure she gets some excersize..... loves playing fetch !! , give her some love, and all is grand.... but, i don't think she would do well in a more restrained enviroment... anyone with pets to PiP experience to share ???
  6. got the pattern from gof's website ( gentlemen of fortune ) http://www.esotericcreations.com/index.php...rticle=12&mn=ht see if this link works.... we first made the shirt out of cheaper muslin and made a few size adjustments.... after we finally figured out the neck gussets, we got the pattern down... now, we just need to make more
  7. at the rate things are going for us, something drastic would have to happen to cancel our plans to attend...
  8. yeah, the first is "natural", but a heavier weight than the white one. all linen... prewashed it all..... boy, am i glad i wasn't the only one screwing up the neck gussets... i was trading emails with someone when they jogged a thought in my head, and i stopped my wife who was literally about to sew on the collar, and we put the gussets where they were supposed to be... seems so simple now that we figured it all out---- but, not with out help !!
  9. welcome.... first order of business, the first round is on you we are newbies here too.. lots of people to share and help in the pub... oh, make mine a bloody mary, spicy too ...
  10. here's a few more... the cuff, yeah i know... no buttons yet.... haven't decided on them yet.. maybe some rope type buttons would look good.. the collar... with the gussets in the proper place !! :) wife's chemise and skirt :)
  11. after finally figuring out the pattern, we think we got the shirts right. let us know how these look this is one shirt... however the sleeves were cut to accomodate no arm gussets... here is another with the arm gussets :) gee, doesn't my windblown hair look great ?? please let us know if we are doing fine or not.... helpful hints are never tossed away
  12. nice looking tbird..... i would think that they would fetch some kind of a good price...... how much are you asking ?? ( no sorry... don't need to spend more money..... just curious )
  13. ah !! a purist at heart drove one for years with no ac.... now if i could only get my others done
  14. what about letting them give ALL the orders.... you know, with the lines being fed to them from someone with the cannon crew.. let them feel like being in charge of the whole operation... " step lively, you scurvy dogs !!" that might be just as cool...
  15. outside tonit fixing the windows of a car and wondering what kind do others have.... daily driver and weekend warrior vehicles.. i'll start... and it is a long list daily drivers... 1992 chrysler minivan.. 200xxx miles so far 2000 ford 11 passenger weekend warriors.. 88 maxda rx7 convertible 73 vw bus auto tranny 70 vw convertible 62 vw ragtop sunroof the vw's are in differing stages of reconstruction. hoping to get the 73 bus running this year. the rx7 is for sale.. what do you guys have ???
  16. congrats will you be needing a sitter at PiP ??? i'm sure one of our crew can accomodate you
  17. RAIN.... RAIN, RAIN, RAIN.... it has done nothing but rain here in st. louis..... for close to 3 months !! the back yard is almost a swamp.... i've been wanting to pour a concrete pad for weeks, but the rain and the swampy backyard for the concrete truck, has put that all on hold... this sucks !! there is a whole slew of projects i need to do in the back yard this summer and the rain is just not helping anything.. concrete pad, 12 x 16 shed, kids new playhouse, new deck, sidewalk, more trees, bushes, flowers.... all on hold
  18. drool, drool, drool.... huh ??? oh,yeah.. daydreaming for a sec... welcome.. we will also be first timers, and lady constance is a 22 year rn. everyone here has been great dealing with questions and advice. hope we'll see ya there
  19. in missouri, but an the far side from cap't bo... st. louis
  20. sorry guy, it worked for me the other day... heck, i can't even give you any worthwhile advice hope it works sometime soon....
  21. heres a pic of clay from pyrate leatherworks at the st. louis renfest this past weekend. i met clay last year when i bought my tricorn, but have never made the connection. ok, i'm a little slow... so, here's his smiling mug with lady constance in the forground
  22. after reading this, i double checked the pattern.. yes, we had it wrong..we had the pieces sewn in wrong and assumed they were for reinforcing and not a gusset. as of this moment, lady constance is adding them in correctly, and we'll have to see how that makes a difference. are all your gathers in the back so the front is somewhat flat ?? or do you put some of the gathers in the front also ??
  23. here are a few pics to illustrate my problem... the pattern is from GoF's website link.... there are arm gussets, but no neck gussets. only neck opening reinforcing patches.. with the shoulder fabric "falling" forward, it feels tight across the back. but the collar feels right. with the shoulder fabric straightened out, the collar gets pulled back first attempt, should've used the 5" gussets 2nd attempt with the better 5" gussets, but notice the shoulder fabric "falling" forward.. shirt 2 with the shoulder fabric straightened out, but notice how it pulls the collar back too far.... the other shirts, we narrowed the body of the shirt thinking this may help, but only ended up with the same problem. only on the first shirt did the shoulders not feel like pulling.. these trial shirts are made of muslin. we are saving the linen until we get it right any advice for us newbies ??? ps--- the goofy looking guy in the pic is indeed me
  24. that's kinda scary, silkie... it's almost as if you were there watching the whole thing
