If you want a "true" queen anne pistol you need to look at Blackley or Rifle Shoppe although you may be shocked at what the price of a rough kit costs.
-
A great idea, unfortunatly as most of the India built guns are hand built there are no 2 that are the same and you can't claim one is safe because the same model passed. Anybody desiring to fire their gun safely should have their gun proofed. Now that this has been brought up what would you charge to proof a gun?

Thanks

What book is it that those illustrations are contained in?
Thanks!

To be honest I don't know. I saw them somewhere and saved them to my computer.

Maybe these will help

There should be a distinction made between the pumps failing and generators/engines failing. Without power they couldn't run the pumps.
-
My information is from the crew, and I believe what they had to say. The pictures of the Bounty "sunk" while stille being on the surface would support what I said and not a hull failure.

GAoP (golden age of pyracy) generally accecpted to of ended around 1720. I figure most weapons that would be used by pyrates during this period would be ones that were in common use no later than 1710-1715. This rules out many of the weapons on the market as they are listed as being something that was just being built in the early 1700's.

I heard the ship would "flex" in 10 foot seas and the majority of the leaking came from the decking and not the hull.

We have found lead sheeting on the wreck we are excavating (Spanish Galleon Sank circa 1733). On some of the pieces of lead there is what appears to be a burlap impression. The holes left from the nails indicate this would have been between the lead and the hull. Most are about 1/16 inch thick but some pieces have been found that are closer to 3/16. Most do not have any impression of burlap on them.

Thinking about heading there this year for the first time.

Single sliding pan Spanish miquelet lock on an over/under carbine/fowler.
-
Wait till you see the next fishtail that's in the works . . . much much shorter and a much much much larger bore
-
Probably the most common double barrel design was the side by side with separate locks (KISS). After all that is what developed into your modern double barrel shotgun.
-
ahh well if you want to include double barrels you have the options for a double barrel double lock (over/under or side by side), swivel breech, or my personal favorite sliding pan. Actually in the next year or so I may have a puckle gun built, a nock volley gun and an over/under sliding pan built . . .
-
When it comes to Queen Anne pistols I like to simply and only classify those that have the integrated side plate and turn off barrel as "Queen Anne" As far as GAoP multiple barrel guns go I have heard there was a forerunner of the Nock Volley Gun (7 barrel shoulder fired carbine), There is the "Puckle Gun" (rotating drum swivel cannon capable of 63 shots in 7 min), and here is a picture of a snaplock pistol for you as well
-
The "boxlock" that is the primary style of lock used in duckfoot pistols was not in use during the GAoP.
-
Would you let these two aboard your ship? Do you think it would still be your ship at the end of the day?
That gun is way to pretty . . .

Dang that first picture makes it look like my tent is on fire.

95 % of what I have is not for sale. the only way I usually make any money is by adjusting others weapons flints etc. Im sorry for the confusion.

Pirate Ship Defiance

Ive been thinking of converting my sailboat into a pirate ship as well. She is a 31 foot C&C sloop I figure by cutting out the cabin adding in a gun deck, reworking the aft deck would become a sort of quarter deck. Adding a bowsprit, top sprit gaff rig, topsails etc complete the rig. As far as armament I already have 4 bronze swivels, multiple large small arms and would be outfitting the gun deck with 4 bronze 6 pound carronades. After sketching het out on ACAD she would be beautiful and around 50 feet overall. Pretty much making her into a costal raider I know she may not be authentic and be fiberglass but Im just a simple pirate working with what I can.
