  1. figure the draft of your vessel, where you might anchor to insure you were at a safe enough depth. picking something dropped overboard might mean (providing it sank) to a depth of 30-40 feet on a galleon.
  2. My first thought would be ship design. What ships pirates would have acquired, how they may have modified them, and how "pirate hunters" would of sought ships to combat them.
  3. The drawing to myknowledge originally came to light on the pirate brethren. There are rumors that when they were doing the excavation of Port Royal they found hundreds of boots in the cobblers shop. The best "period" boot I have found so far that doen't cost too much is from Loyalist but I would be prepared to wait. I have not seen these in person.
  4. I got your pictures, they do help a ton. Confirmed most everything I thought about, did raise a question or two about how the safety works.
  5. Ive seen their kits online and have been very impressed with the look of them but have not ordered from them in the past. Maybe you could help me out, there is one piece I am unsure about. On the tang, there appears to be a screw threaded into the tang from the inside. See the small screw end behind the screw head.
  6. I got real hopeful there for a second that you might have some information I didn't have. I take it theres no chance of getting the guts for these pistols?
  7. I haven't been able to get thru on their phones for quite a while. I stopped trying a couple weeks ago, I will renew strength next week.
  8. I would love to see some of your documentation for: Attention Collectors we have a very small amount of these left and they will be gone for good. As seen in Pirates of the Caribbean At Worlds End. New in Box made by Palmetto Italy this is a beautiful little reproduction of the Lafayette .41 cal derringer. Often carried in waist pockets or in garters this was a piece favored by many gamblers and ladies as a hide away piece. Overall length of 7 1/4 inches. Comes complete with loading and cleaning rod. Introduced prior to 1640, this is a muzzleloading gun of English origin. These guns were common up to the mid 19th century. I was of the understanding that the boxlock wasn't "around" until much later.
  9. what size are the dolphins, and how much?
  10. Thats the story of Shay's musket, we called them then built the musket around what they had in stock.
  11. The last buckle I found (circa 1730's) was small but bronze and you could just barely make out the pin that was iron.
  12. A year hah, Im waiting still and I ordered in Sept of 2009
  13. Heres the last one I built (sold) when I carried it and used it I simply tucked it in my sash. It was easier than a dragoon to pull out and stayed in very nicely no matter how I moved. Something about the stock shape just seemed to work naturally. The double Im building will be on some sort of sling to be carried under the coat more than likely.
  14. Varnishing the new seat for our tender, nice and perfect weather for painting here
  15. Tis a problem at times to want to make the real deal and have customers who want other and then be forced to either make what the want or make the real deal on your own time and money
  16. If my count is correct you have 1 spanish not spoken for, can you put me down for it please
  17. The bore is 1 inch, it is 3 inches at the breech, the barrel is 22 inches and the overall length is 3 feet
  18. nope, its a swivel cannon with a doglock on the side as per a request. I have tried to bridge a gap between the mounted blunderbusses and later swivel cannons to come up with an early version of something well documented.
  19. I've got 2010 also but have found that for printing etc most other places are geared toward 2000. No responses on the design?
  20. ACAD2000, it helps to be able to draw something before actually cutting it out.
  21. As you can see work is progressing on my projects, this shot was taken 2 days before christmas so a little bit more has been accomplished including the other lock.
  22. From the album: More fun Projects
