  1. Absolutely positive about the ship. Pornos filmed on the Picton Castle: Pirates Snatchbuckler Conquest I also believe Hooker and Peter Porn were also done aboard that ship. There may be others, but these are the ones I've seen.
  2. Welcome to the Pub! With a name like that, I'll be sure and stay out of your way....
  3. Welcome to the Pub! So how about telling more about yourself?
  4. I have a katana where the black cloth has been removed revealing a nice wooden handle. I'll gladly let it go really cheap---how's $15.00 sound? (Doesn't include postage- but probably around $6 to 8 dollars) If anyone is interested, send me a PM.
  5. In the Renaissance era as it came to a close, many gentlemen wore breeches just like those, but most did not have the over fly cover of the buttons. The legs either buttoned at the just below the knee or were tied. I have a pattern used by the St. Michael's (Military Guild at Southern Renaissance Pleasure Faire) for the pants they use and it is virtually identical to what is shown in the picture of the Barbossa pants. The thing about all that gathering in the waistband, is unless you are somewhat thin, it will most certainly make you look overly large in the hip/leg area. When I've made breeches like that for people (myself included) I try not to gather too much material into the waistband to help create a smoother appearance. I'm also real fond of elastic waistbands (oh the horror as other costumers lament out there...) so it's a whole lot more comfortable and besides virtually no one sees the waistband depending on how the rest of your garb covers it. The latest pair of pants I made are much longer, so if I were wearing boots I could tuck them into the boot tops. I also used black grograin ribbon for the ties instead of buttons. You all have to remember, not all pirates were in the Carribean. In that area you would probably be wearing lightweight materials as opposed to the English coast where the weather is much cooler. Also, fashions were handed down from one person to another. So it could infact be true that Dutch, German and other countries would have clothing from there in GoP.
  6. I'm afraid if I made bead fan pulls, my cats would never get off the dining table....
  7. I actually recognized in the film and in the credits was Billy Bones - ah knowing your real name Billy Bones, made me smile widely when I saw you as mentioned as a sword fighter - and the first one named in the credits for such.
  8. John Young, you amaze me....as an intelligent life form.
  9. Just wanted to say to Mad Jack, thank you so much for the phone call and making my weekend great!
  10. Here in Calif. you have to be 18 I think to purchase guns of any kind. Don't know about other states. No, you don't need an orange tip on a black powder replica. That's mainly for younger kid's toys that look so real the cops mistake them for real.... I'm sure you'll hear from a whole lot of others on this subject.
  11. Oh dear! I had no idea you were ill, but I'm glad to see you back! Stay healthy!
  12. ...and here I thought the glove bit was a sign to Michael Jackson....
  13. Bet none of them know (except the real crew of the Picton Castle) that the ship has been used in porno flicks. It's sort of getting interesting....jumping into a swamp of poisonous snakes isn't a real smart idea....I wonder what would have happened had someone actually gotten bitten.... Though the Captain is a nice site for us women to look at, he's a jerk. But you know, I have to give him credit for trying to buy off the bosun to keep an eye on the rest of the group. What a pirate!
  14. Sparrow is my choice. Let's face it, this guy can make it up as he goes along.
  15. Over the last few days we've had some minor earthquakes. The other night I was in the bathroom taking a shower when an apparently decent one came through (4.0). Never felt it. Sitting at the computer this morning and just a few minutes ago, we had another quick jolt (about 10:22 AM).....as I continued to type a response to someone... Every time we get these, I just look and wonder "is it going to get any bigger?" Small ones are nothing, it's the ones over 5.0 that are very disconcerting. Having been through the Northridge quake when I was living in Tujunga (east San Fernando Valley/Los Angeles), I can say I've been through the worst of a quake. I'll take the small ones any day.
  16. Somehow I just don't think the color is very pretty.....
  17. Ah geeze Jack, you gotta quit trying to use the jousting stick on kids! I'll give you a ringy-dingy soon. Rumba
