  1. I kind of had to snicker a bit when I checked out your website. A ketch? Ah, she might be wooden, but small . :D

Nice little ship though, too bad it won't float in Lake Casitas, as dry weather has dried the lake up quite a bit, and it's fairly shallow now. Bound to get stuck in the mud.

Well, I can tell you're no stick in the mud, but watch out, we're really good at tying people up.

  3. Dwayne's last name is Matthews.

Lives in Capistrano Beach, CA. (I have his address), great guy.

You can see him and the rest of us PRP'rs at the San Jaun Capistrano event on Oct.25, at Mission San Jaun Capistrano.

*Thanks for the link to the front page McVox!

  4. Well what can I say, just go to : portroylprivateers.org

We are the BEST well known group around - thanks to Christine and other hardy souls who started it. 'Nuff said.

I joined a year after it started.

  5. Well, since I can't figure out how to get to the HOME PAGE FRONT, as there seems to be no link here....

Anyway, Louie Lambie is a longtime member of PRP, we gals in the group call him "Pocket Stud", cuz he's shorter than me (I'm 5'3") and he's a real nice guy, though I question some of the gals he has dated, including the current one....

Since I can't see the home page, I don't know who else is there.

Hey Jamaica, where's a link to the HOME PAGE FRONT?

  6. I've worn both belt and sash around my waist. Makes for more colorful pirate, though it of couse isn't quite historically correct (was I ever a correct pirate? Naw)

However, many pirates did have some sort of sash over their heads, around their necks (hence the coming of the wild west) for instant quick ties, sweat and gags for prisioners.

  7. Well as much as you all like pain, not me! Sure I'd love to get a very small one (a pentacle with celtic knotwork over my left breast), but I cannot endure the pain, much less the sight of a needle and blood. I give enough of my bloodletting when I make me costumes!

Also, once you get a tattoo, you are unable to give blood at the blood banks, and in my case, my partner who does do that sort of thing, wouldn't be able to donate either, as being with me ....well that's what the law is here in Calif.

But hey, I got one of those fake tattoos with the skull and swords from POTC, works for me!

  8. Being from Calif. , the Wedge is located in Huntington Beach, Orange County.

    Nowhere near San Diego.

Hmmmmm, me thinks kids aren't being real good to their parents.

  9. :D PRP use to have a big bag we carried every where with loaner gear. Got to the point is was too much to drag around, and too big to store in our trailer for the group. Not sure if or what happened to all of it. Haven't seen anything in quite some time.

But, trust me, if you are on a real budget like me and many others, thrift stores, garage/yard sales are the way to go.

  10. I know these aren't pirate related, but there might be some ladies out there who might be interested.

The prices are reasonable considering you'd be paying twice the amount from other costumers. If you are seriously interested, please send me an email.

    Thank you,

  12. I saw that ship you're talking about at the Michaels here in Escondido. Very cute, almost bought it, but after hearing the song "A Pirate's Life For Me", and hearty but twangy 'yo ho ho and a bottle of rum' all over the store for hours on end, it decidedly would drive me bonkers and run for the raspberry vodka!

  13. Here's one that just came off the top o' me head this mornin'

Be a pirate, be a pirate,

    There's nothing like a pirate,

Sailin' an robbin' with no regret,

It's here I'll hang me hat, well met,

    Another day, another dubloon,

Ne're a need to ever fret,

    I'll be a pirate, Yes a Pirate,

'Till twilight nears, and me life be at rest.

So what can some of you do? Try and keep it clean! I know, it's hard but there's younsters reading these posts too.

  14. Well there's an interesting item in the new 'Renaissance' magazine I got the other day. It talked about Shakespears day when clay pipes that were found from the time were holding traces of cocaine and marijuana. (Article on page 20) So maybe those pirates were really 'swishbuckling' around!
