  1. Capt. Grey, Bird Haven won't save them for me anymore, and Petco won't let me have any either. When I do go into Bird Haven and I spot a decent feather on the bottom of a cage I get the gals to get it for me. Black Deacon, I don't use Ostrich or Pheasant feathers as they can be gotten anywhere, and a lot of vendors sell them. That's why what I make is so incredibly different, my work doesn't look like anyone else's. I had a picture of my stuff while at the Escondido faire earlier this year, but I can't find it. I've even picked up feathers from the ground from wild birds like the Mourning Doves, crows, and even hawks (though legally I'm not allowed to sell hawk feathers, hey I'm a pirate...). 2. Thank you all. I had a really hard time trying to decide what to do with the hat. It sat around for quite some time (gathering cat hair) while I thought about it. I had just enough of that wide trim left to do the hat with. I'm sure I'll wear it with other garb besides the coat. Oh and getting the cat hair off- (can't figure out how it got on it as it was up and away from them) was a pain in the ass.
  3. Most of the people I know who have bought rope sandals complain about them. There's no support and the rope can rub your toes and other areas of your foot into blisters especially if they get wet or get sand in them. I think leather is the way to go.
  4. (Moricktowain- I moved your topic to Raids section) Hey who cares, gets wet, see-through!
  5. Looking forward to your visit. Anyone we know of that post here at the Pub be crewin' with ye?
  6. I use to get their cataloge, but since I never bought anything I don't get it anymore. But I have bookmarked it so now I can puruse at my leisure. Thanks Silent.
  7. Well here it is, a hat blank turned into a work of art. I trimmed the edges of the brim because they weren't even. I actually sewed the large trim around the brim, but the rest I had to use Fabric-tac. I'm using 4 good size hat pins to hold the brim in place. I took them out to put the feathers on, and the brim held the shape pretty well while I was working on it. The fancy pins all came from my recent trip to Las Vegas, guady, but great. Hat
  8. Those of you with parrots, parakeets, canaries etc. I need your birds' molted feathers. Colorful feathers are the best. I even use the smallest ones that have color. My stock of feathers is extremely low. I will make you a free hat pin in trade. Please email me. Thanks, Rumba Rue
  9. Question, before I post a pic here, how do I make it small enough to fit without a whole screen full of me? Someone please tell me and others how. Thanks.
