  1. (For those just tuning in; the following takes place between 11:00 PM and 12:00 AM. My wife and Rumba have agreed upon a price for my services, which in no way would distress a late night Taco Bell drive-through. That's right - I've been pimped for a Big Beef Burrito and a large Mountain Dew. I feel strangely gratified by the whole transaction...) I HATE TACO SMELL, OOPS I MEAN BELL... I've gotten sick every friggin' time I ate their food, so I don't anymore. Del Taco is pretty good- I use to work for a couple of them in my younger years- so I know what's in the meat--hint, they use oatmeal as a filler. I have no idea what Taco (Smell) Bell uses- I don't think I want to know.... QUOTE (RumbaRue @ Apr 29 2006, 12:10 PM) At my age, I'm lucky if I can get sex at all! Part of me has forgotten it's not 18 anymore... Ya the brain forgot.....
  2. Bein' a good friend o' the man, yes it's been quite a shock. We use to tease each other and laugh about how our birthdays were on the same day and we were the same age. Just waiting now to hear about funeral or memorial services, if any.
  3. Who do I want to meet? Why every person I haven't met yet!
  4. Just curious Mr. Lazarus, do ye not have hair upon yer head?
  5. I'm feeling a whole lot better too.
  6. Fair Winds and Following Seas dear Royalist and Gary. Good luck in your venture to the east!
  7. I will forever be a fan of the old "Alias Smith and Jones" shows. It's too bad it was cancelled. I too liked F Troop and many you have mentioned Blackjohn. My absolute favorite daytime show was 'Dark Shadows'. It was well ahead of it's time, but I loved it!
  8. My opion: if people think so highly of the country they come from and wave their countries flags for them, then PLEASE go back to where you came from and make a difference there! This is the USA, the spoken word is ENGLISH and our National Anthem is sung in ENGLISH - not some words in another language with the words changed to fit their wants, it's disgraceful to our flag and our country. What would these people think if we all went to Mexico or some other country and demanded rights for our being illegals there? We'd be laughed off the planet! Sorry, but the people who come here illegally, do not deserve any rights what-so-ever!
  9. Interesting...the ones with the gal pic on them is on several t-'s with the lines, 'Women who behave, rarely make history'. Seen them in several catalogs too. BTW- Mad Jack...ye ol' sweety ye never told me ye had these things!
  10. well first ye have ta catch the scoundrels in order to wash them....pirates....
  11. Oh, Christine...that's priceless! I can hardly wait for more!
  12. I have to admit that the loss of some of the characters of Depp's crew in the new movies is a bit of a shame (Zoe Saldana and Gerry Reyes) as it would have been nice to see a continuance of them. But who is to argue with the Powers that Be? Not me. But nor will I go see a movie I don't care to see just to see some trailer...naw, I'll just wait.
  13. All I know is when you're done, you'd better have one hell of a party there mate!
  14. Just awful. Between having to deal with a clogged bathroom sink courtsey of my neighbor....and not feeling well due to something I ate... over the last four days. well at least the bathroom sink has been fixed today...finally.
  15. I used a highlight marker to mark the size. Yes I do go by store sizing and in reality, so should patterns. I do understand what you are saying, however, that doesn't mean I agree with it. Also my bust is not a problem. The lack of directions are.
  16. First let me say, I've known Gail Selinger many years. She was contacted by the people who do those 'Guides for Idiots' books. The book is a bit of a piece-tied grouping of all sorts of things including tidbits in little boxes on the sides about things. They go by the names, like Pirate Yarns, Knowing the Ropes, Dead Men's Tales, and Treasure Chest. Each contains little bits of real information that is commonly overlooked. It's a good all around book, but not one for really going into deep detail about things or people. However there are some real gems there, especially in the begining about early piracy in the early days of human life of the Celts, the Romans, Greeks, Vikings, and the Mediterranian area and Asian pirates, just to mention a few. It's written in a bit of 'tounge and cheek' sort of way with some occassional funny bits. You'll also find tidbits at the end of the chapters titled, 'The Least You Need to Know', which lists quick notes to people, places, or other things to keep knowledge of, very helpful. The book just doesn't stop at the Golden Age of Piracy, but goes on into modern day pirates as well. I'd also like to mention that Red Maria here at the Pub who works for the famous Huntington Library in Pasadena area helped provide info for the book. Along with Jamica Rose and Capt. MacLeod of NQG, Joan Druett (well known author) and her husband Ron have provided help with information to put into the book. Plus a host of other writers and helpers have helped out. You'll also find pictures of Louie Lambie dressed in various outfits for pictures in the book. All in all I recommend the book as one to have. I give it 4 skulls out of 5.
