  1. This is a recent custom that is available through Legacy Forge at the Scarborough Ren Fest in Texas.

The blade is 29 layers and clamshell/thumbring is 13 layers I think.

The handle is antler. The hilt is iron. The buttcap is wrought iron and the pommel nut is also iron.

All the pieces were hand forged to shape.

We are already making the next in this series. The damascus clamshell has quickly become a favorite.

  2. As mentioned by several people, you could go with a swept hilt rapier or a transitional rapier with an arming blade. Darkwood is a good place to find such items. I also make a ton of rapiers and complex hilted weapons. There are quite a few good options.

If I were to get intot hat period agian, I would go with a massive blade mounted in a swept hilt just for style!

  3. I enjoyed making it and I will be making more for general stock soon.

Any chance you can let me know when they're available?

I have one right now just like this but with a hickery handle.

  5. Mad Jack I am not sure who you are, but no worries mate. You are far to worried. Thats what us pirates do...we complain about things and gripe on forums. Don't read into it anymore then that. Duncan cleared things up and I think the event will be one for the ages. All ages at that!

    Cant wait!

Besides, most of the people complaining aren't coming anyway.

The Gang will all discuss and decide on where the Devils Dozen will land next year and we will take all of what has been said into the decision. I think we all felt that Fells Point was the right place to start this tradition and we always invisioned it as a traveling event.

  6. My co-worker john who has been the guy making our 17th cent clothes for years is no wanting to get into pyracy. Took me a few years but he will be coming with me to some shows here and there. His first will be Fells Point...

Anyway, he asked me if I could find someone to trade us a sword or pair of swords or whatever for a pair of small pistols. Flintlocks that is. He is in need of some other stuff too but at least his priorities are in order.

So if there is anyone out there witha pair of working flintlocks that needs some custom metal working done, let me know. We will more then match value on a trade.
