Special programs also are held at Historic Jamestowne, administered by the National Park Service and APVA Preservation Virginia. ______________ Today at Jamestown Settlement, the story of the people who founded Jamestown and of the Virginia Indians they encountered is told through film, gallery exhibits and living history. Gallery exhibits (opening in early 2004) trace Jamestown's beginnings in England and the first century of the Virginia colony and describe the cultures of the Powhatan Indians, Europeans and Africans who converged in 1600s Virginia. Outdoors, visitors can board replicas of the three ships that sailed from England to Virginia in 1607, explore life-size re-creations of the colonists' fort and a Powhatan village, and tour a riverfront discovery area to learn about European, Powhatan and African economic activities associated with water. In the outdoor areas, costumed historical interpreters describe and demonstrate daily life in the early 17th century. most important....THE SHIPS! The Susan Constant, Godspeed and Discovery - re-creations of three ships that brought English colonists to Virginia in 1607 – are moored at Jamestown Settlement’s pier for visitors to explore. Visitors can learn about the four-and-a-half-month voyage from England and take part in periodic demonstrations of 17th-century piloting and navigation.

  21. ...you guys missed all the fun downstairs! lol
  22. can't really give you prices, depends on how many people commit to wanting to rent a house together. the more people, the bigger the house. i've seen prices as low as $575 for a 1 bedroom to $5,000 for a 5 bedroom. and all inbetween. so i guess for now, if you are want to share a house, just post something here so we can see who's interested
  23. HEYYYYYYYY I REMEMBER THAT! ROFLMFAO
  24. well doesn't that just suck! ...lol figures...i'm up for camping someplace else or maybe a pub meet. i'd rather not drive 7 hours if i don't have to. a great place for camping and close too is assateague island. rarely crowded there, and if you wanna do the boardwalk thing, ocean city is 10 minutes away. we could camp, garb up and take over oc at night....lol...that would be funnnnn Assateague Island $10 for a 7 day pass $20 per night for camping. bayside or beachfront for those of you not familiar with assateague...it's where a herd of "wild" ponies roam free, even in the campground. (cute little deer too) a couple of times the ponies have stood in our camp and watched us cook hot dogs...lol they also have ranger led programs: they teach you how to surf fish, go crabbin (yes you can keep and eat!), and raking for clams, on top of nature walks, stargazing, canoe rentals, etc
  25. are you serious????? geeze....figures...my luck
