The greatest mischief you can do the envious, is to do well. ~ Cawdray

To Madame Chat Rouge...a bit of posey that I am assured you may well appreciate. Half loving kindness, and half disdane, Thou comest to my call serenely suave, With humming speech and gracious gestures grave, In salutation courtly and urbane; Yet must I humble me thy grace to gain - For wiles may win thee, but no arts enslave, And nowhere gladly thou abidest save Where naught disturbs the concord of thy reign; Sphinx of my quiet hearth! who deignst to dwell, Friend of my toil, companion of mine ease, Thine is the lore of Ra and Rameses; That men forget dost thou remember well, Beholden still in blinking reveries, With sombre sea-green eyes inscrutable... Rosemund Marriott Watson (1863-1911) ~ 'To My Cat'

My deepest sympathies to you and yours in this sorrowed moment. May I offer this as my token of condolence... Do not stand at my grave and weep, I am not there... I do not sleep. I am the thousand winds that blow... I am the diamond glints on snow... I am the sunlight on ripened grain... I am the gentle autumn rain. When you waken in the morning's hush, I am the swift uplifting rush Of gentle birds in circling flight... I am the soft star that shines at night. Do not stand at my grave and cry— I am not there... I did not die...

Bravo, Chat Rouge Thousands of years ago, cats were worshipped as gods. Cats have never forgotten this. ~ Anonymous No amount of time can erase the memory of a good cat, and no amount of masking tape can ever totally remove his fur from your couch. ~ Leo Dworken

Just finished painting an "accent" wall in the dining room deepest terra cotta. I do believe it came of rather well...Now to wait for the paint to dry and replace all the wall plates with new ones more befitting than those that were removed.

"I do..I do.."...I do believe in faries!!! ( My apologies, Chat Rouge...What you "said" rang a familiar bell and I could not let it pass.) Kudos to one of your favorites. Dreams are the eraser dust I blow off my page. They fade into emptiness another dark, gray day. Dreams are the only memory of the plans have back then. Dreams are eraser dust and now I use a pen. So pleased that you appreciated it as I do. Good people will do good things. Evil people will do evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion. ~ S. Weinberg

The mind I love must have wild places, a tangled orchard where dark damsons drop in the heavy grass, an overgrown little wood, the chance of a snake or two, a pool that nobody's fathomed the depth of, and paths threaded with flowers planted by the mind. - K. Mansfield

“For God’s sake, help me.” Though whispered it was, the unexpected plea startled the silence and the two men nearby. Kelley gave smallish start as sight shifted quickly to he that lay in curled repose. Thompson remained speechless, mute on some deep level of inner being as half-hearted gesture was made to companion. Irishman drew near hesitantly, ever aware of the dim passage beyond the gaping maw of cell door. Leaning close in conspiritor's posture, words were exchanged betwixt and between with constant glances traded to the one way out and in. Deep inhalation broke the still as Nathan drew back and considered; nod was given to hushed tradings of contemplation. Retreating a number of steps, attention rapt upon fallen form, he paused once more before quitting hell's forgotten annex. Thompson lingered briefly, then followed in companion's wake. Just as heavy door was swung near closure, he addressed lone occupant. " I canno' offer promises..."

Very nice indeed, Ladies I too am visited by angels and devils, but I get rid of them. When it is an angel I pray an old prayer, and he is bored; When it is a devil I commit an old sin, and he passes me by.

Merci, Madame...Perhaps another? Mayhap a funeral among men is a wedding feast among angels. ~or~ Perhaps the sea's definition of a shell is the pearl. Pehaps time's definition of coal is the diamond.
