A Pirate's Friendly Insult Thread
Quartermaster James replied to Hawk the QM's topic in Beyond Pyracy
That's my tankard. As you can see, I was a bit tied up at the time. Don't worry though, it went naught to waste as the Sexy Syrens of the Seas brought me food and drink during my ever so trying ordeal... -

I lay no claim to understanding either the anatomy or geometry of the question. -

Cost? I've been waiting two years for you to post them on the web. All press is good press... Besides, I'm a bit past shame by now. It is absurd to divide people into good or bad. People are either charming or tedious. -

Tis the insult & banter forum, no? Charming conversation it has been! Quite reminds me of old days. And I see that there are just as many fools in society as there used to be. So pleased to find that nothing has altered! -

All thought is immoral. Its very essence is destruction. If you think of anything, you kill it. Nothing survives being thought of. I am afraid that you have been listening to the conversation of someone older than yourself. That is always a dangerous thing to do, and if you allow it to degenerate into a habit, you will find it absolutely fatal to any intellectual development. However, I think anything is better than high intellectual pressure. That is the most unbecoming thing there is. It makes the noses of the young girls so particularly large. I am afraid that we are beginning to be over-educated; at least everybody who is incapable of learning has taken to teaching -that is really what our enthusiasm for education has come to. Ah! that quite does for me. I haven't a word to say... Too much care was taken with our education, I am afraid. To have been well brought up is a great drawback nowadays. It shuts one out from so much. -
Good evening and welcome to another edition of 'Storage Jars'. On tonight's programme Mikos Antoniarkis, the Greek rebel leader who seized power in Athens this morning, tells us what he keeps in storage jars. (quick cut to photo of a guerrilla leader with a gun; sudden dramatic chord; instantly cut back to the presenter) From strife-torn Bolivia, Ronald Rodgets reports on storage jars there. (still of a Bolivian city and again dramatic chord and instantly back to the presenter) And closer to home, the first dramatic pictures of the mass jail-break near the storage jar factory in Maidenhead. All this and more in storage jars!

It would be unwise to mistake us for D-Pirates. We're more the "I'm here to kidnap your children and sell them in slave market" set. Really, unless you meant something else entirely by having them ready in time for dinner... -

Hmmm...we may be coming from differing angles here. I'm hardly being romantic, my motive being personal gain and the greater enjoyment of life. But that I take by force or guile that what I want from others who before me took the same by force or guile; or that I enjoy wenches, drink, and music, is hardly cause that I become a boor. Strategically speaking, when about towne I do my best to engage in such pursuits without attracting undo attention to myself. Not all of us are swinging through the rigging to a Rob Zombie soundtrack types, some pyrates are more Baroque... -

I disagree. But, a lot depends upon just who precisely is doing the defining. If, by the mere label of "pyrate" one becomes the "scum of the earth", then I grant your point but note that it is therefore meaningless. I counter that one need not necessarily become debased for simply living outside the law. -
