sure...up north here (midwest really)...tentage can come in handy...tornados and thunderstorms for example(port washington 2 years in a row)..... but as i recall...down in PiP....the weather was so nice...we usually slept under the stars....i just threw a leanto over me hammock....i guess Mr.Hand did the same...but he wouldnt know that cause he never got out ofhis hammock long enough to come down the beach and see us(HMMMPF) i think some slept on the beach(tho any cute single lass looking to sleep UNDER the beach...please contact me brother or i).....also some slept in the bushes...and i think i even fell asleep(passed out) around the camp fire...on top of the coral...with a full ceilidgh going on around me.... so...tents are good...for most events...but at PiP....ehh?

OI!!!!...whats this??? ... ...Someone went and did a dastardly deed!!!...indeed.... ...SOMEONE....went and moved the NATIONAL WALK THE PLANK COMPETION...from SATURDAY NIGHT...to THURsDAY AFTERNOON!!!! seems to me....SOME people must be on the jealous side...too go to the legth of actually moving the date...and NOT TELLING the 2007 NATIONAL WALK THE PLANK co/CHAMPIONS!!!!!..... well....seems to me...MAYBE....ssomone else...should just go and tell last yaers CHAMPIONS....(M.A.d'Dogge's Brother & M.A.d'Dogge).....about the moved date...and see if they can actually make it a day or two earlier than planned..... HA!! that ought taaa teach ya damn dirty pirates!!!! seems like something i would have done....wish i had thought of it....

SO FAR....haven't had a issue with flying with me arsenal....in fact everytime its gone thru the x-ray...(ie: 'bout 10-15 swords, musket, 5 pistols, various daggers and 2 boarding axes)...someone usually asks.... "what...you a PYRATE or sumpthin??" to which i reply: "why yes i am...." then lots of strange looks insue...from both sides and yes the rumour was true....there was some back alley traversing to the famed "GARDEN OF EDEN"....boy talk about really feeling like a pyrate...armed to the teeth...dressed like a pyrate...in keywest...with a bottle of rum in hand...have sloshed and stubblin...walking directly behind the local constibles...in a back alley... while the rest of the crewe were trying not to git arrested on the street...we even waived at them from our vantage point...as we were tiptoeing behind about 50'.... make ya almost shed a tear...dunnit

I WOULD brag about sumpthin for PiP...but hell....You guys saw me last year....HOW could i improve on PERFECTION????

I too have the Middlesex doubled-barreled pistol....got to even fire it a few times this weekend at port washington....had to before a GREEDY CAPN (not mentioning any names Sterling)...wanted to shoot em for one of the scenarios....also lent it to a fellow pyrate...bLOODYjACKmAD... shot fairly well...up to the point it chained fired....dont know who was more surprised...me...BloodyJackMad...Me Brother Billie standing next to him...or the Audience watching him....but DAMN did it make for a nice BOOM just might rig it ta chain fire ALL the time......

my god...did i miss something last year???...i thought that was the WHOLE REASON for the encampment????.....only thing i saw wrong was...noone knew how to git the audience down to the beach....i just remeber a LOT of back and forth to the fort to see what the hell was going on and when...i think by the time we got word of a meeting...we consistently missed every single one by at least 30 min....... baseing this on ...oh ...about 20years of living history of several time periods....there are some tried and true way to engage the audience...instead of waitting for them to come and find you.... 1. many demos can go immediatly before and after the battles....gitting ready for the battle..weapons....after the battle weapons...surgical...tried to incorpoate mission with a couple of ideas we have used in the past...but i think i scare him..... 2. go find them and bring em back to the camp yer damn self....stop and talk to them if they dont say hi first...chase em ifn ya gotto....thaT BY THE WAY REaLLY WORKS 3. i forget what 3. was.... 4. nevermind ...4. never really worked 5. maps of the grounds given to everyone at the door...with at least a few things scheduled at the Beach...not me personally(last name being Beach an all)...but near the Beach(that could be me brother too)...anyway ya gits the point...... i'll go back to bed now.... and ...oh yeah......hey mission........BOO!

wellllll..........beutiful point on the lake...great for camping....right next to beach...great for swimming.....good folks....had a lot of fun.....even let us comadeere a boat and atack the encampment....."I AM THE PIRATE KING" kept running thru my head.....they pretty much let us do whatever we wanted...after some discussion.....very period camps...no fantasy...toned down rev and colonials mostly down sides....small event...small crowds...has potential to be really something if they could ever get a backer to promote the event. they really pushed the pirate boats....great place for it...but dealing with the state committees can be trying at best....hope for the best for them. but unfornately for me...seems i have a prior engagement in N.C. this year....maybe the schedules will work for us better next year.... if your in the area....good event to git into the ground floor with... like i said ...has many potentials if things go their way.....

thanky all for such kind wishes....but im afeered they were al for noaght.... ....had a HELL of a burthday.... had to make me own cake...just to be sure i gits one...wouldnt come out of the pan....crumbly....came out in 16 pieces out of 2 pans....yeah.....but with 2 cans of frosting....i had a hell of a mess...and me pile of burthday cake....wife was sick with a sinus infection...no burthday nookie....daughter had it as well...so no sleep either.....was going to make homemade ice cream (the best)...but only me making it....so didnt want to hand crank for 40 mins by meself...so hooked up moter to my wooden bucket....wouldnt work...threw motor out the back door....still picking up pieces a week later....40 minutes later still cranking 'cause ran out of ice when wife wanted some in her drink....1 hour later...finalllly git me ice cream....starting t catch sinus sniffles me self....neighbors came over for pile of cake and runny ice cream...brought over beer from my favorite local brewery...dragons mead brewery....who make over 35 homade beers....all of which i love but 1 i hate...called final absolution....they brought me FINAL ABSOLUTION....then had to drink it in front of them so THEY dont feel bad.... ....woke up with a hemmroid as big as my thumb...i checked........had a visitation and funeral to go to the week end before and day afters..this past week end had to work and on call....o no drinking or fun til NEXT FRIDAY......and my wifes family and friends from out of town came over for a memorial day weekend gathering at me house.....i was working...and got called out for some outages.....i missed the whole cookout.....grill out of gas when i got home....all the neighbors in my back yard drinking...i got call ed out until 5 in the morning...... ...finall off -call this friday...when i'll be driving 6 hours back to illinios for a graduation party....did i mention as big as my thumb??? thank you for all the wishes...but next year i might just sleep in....
