captjack, sounds interesting. Are you anywhere near Rochester? I finally got some pics put up on photobucket. These are all before the event shots and unfortunately it may be a while before I get the during Halloween pics from our friend. Hopefully it won't be too long. http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v289/klc...Halloween%2007/?

Drinking some hot chocolate and finally getting the chance to sit back, relax, and catch up on all the happenings here on the pub. It feels like I've been gone forever but I didn't go anywhere.

I've been living on coffee this past week. So much so, I think I'm starting to perk in my sleep. Right now, I'm drinking a great big cup of hot chocolate and I may even have a second cup.

Congratulations on all your good fortunes.

Completely and totally used up. Like a napkin thats been used while eating BBQ. You know what I mean? You can't even find a clean spot on it to wipe off the sauce from your lips or fingers. It may sound like it, but I'm not complaining. I've enjoyed every exhausting minute of this past week. But, I am looking forward to a few days of rest. Then I can start sewing all those eyelets on my stays for PIP.

Patrick, Matusalem, captjack: congratulations and awsome job all. I love the pics and video. This year was by far our best Halloween. We had around 600 visitors last night and distributed about 100 lbs of candy. The weather was perfect, the crowds were wonderful and our actors and props worked their magic all night long. At one point the news showed up and was interviewing folks but the story at 11 only had pics of the dot room and some other props. Thats just fine by me. I hope to get some pics posted later this evening. I probably won't get the video done till after PIP though. I can't wait for next year.

Keith and I sent our forms in a couple of weeks ago, so we're good to go.

It's one hour till showtime and I just wanted to wish you all a safe and happy Halloween. Happy Haunting Lily

Really excited about tomorrow. We had an awsome opening night with much screaming and laughter. Music to my ears. I just hope 100 lbs of candy will be enough. I wish you could be here Syren, feel better soon. My back still really hurts but the adrenaline rush and vicodin is keeping the pain at bay and I'm finished with the steroid treatments. So that's a good thing. Can we start a dysfunctional family club? I hope you all have a safe and Happy Halloween.

Collinwood Manor had our opening night tonight and was a great success. We had about 200 visitors pass through, our new maze/dot room was awsome. There was much screaming and laughter and we even had confirmed peetalities. Not from children either, lol. I can't wait till tomorrow. Just as we were about to close, a police car showed up. We weren't too sure at first why they were here but they just wanted a tour. After we gave them a good scare, they called their other friends to come by so we could scare them too. At nearly 2 am, (we closed at 9) we had some more great folks from the Irondequoit police dept. come through and they will be patrolling the yard for us during the night. I love my neighborhood. We did have a strange incident happen this afternoon. A little boy, about 6 yrs old, fully costumed and no shoes, came walking into the yard all alone. Apparently, while mom was sleeping he decided to go trick or treating. Needless to say, my husband walked him home and mom was very greatful. Extremely upset, but grateful. lol Tonight the dad was here to thank us with his brother, but the little boy was grounded for the evening. At least he'll be allowed to come back tomorrow with his parents. I hope you all have a safe and Happy Halloween.

Something I know I shouldn't be doing. Painting tiny skulls black in the livingroom. I just can't stand the thought of sitting in the damp basement, again. At least I'm using a tiny brush.

At our local Halloween Express, they are selling wig heads for $4.00. I got very lucky last year. A costume shop that was closing it's doors was selling them for .50. If you think there is enough time, I'd be happy to send you one. As for the smoke machines, depending on what type of machine it is, $29.00 isn't a lot. I have a couple of commercial grade foggers that I wish were that price. In general, a good quality machine is based on power, wattage, output and all the bells & whistles. For example, if it has a timer or runs on a remote control. Unfortunately, the pop up Halloween shops, are feeding the mass population. Cheap merchandise, low quality, and disposable. The one good part is the after Hallowen sales. For 50% off, at least the parts are worth salvaging.

Well, as much as I would love to camp with you all, I'm really thankful to be staying in a hotel. I hurt my back again and am about to start steroid treatments, physical therapy, and am taking more pain meds than I can shake a stick at. Hopefully, this will resolve itself in a month. I swear if I have to crawl around Key West, I will. I'll be damned if I miss this.

Thanks Tom. I think some of them can be painted over while others have been so wind and weather beaten they really do need to be replaced anyway. Tomorrow is the big day to finish the structure. Yay, hurray. I can't wait till it's done. So for today, we've been busy getting a lot of little things done. Now, I'm gonna carve some funkins. Woohoo.

Thanks for the compliment Cheeky. I think I enjoy doing this too much to get paid for it. I have friends that run pro haunts and they just get so stressed out. I'm lucky that they share their secrets with us. It definitely makes us strive to do work we can be proud of. Now Long Tom on the other hand should be making and selling his tombstones. I would buy them in a heartbeat. He was kind enough to show me some detailed pics and I seriously want to throw all mine away and re-make them using his method. (Net year). I can't wait to see pics Patrick. Speaking of pics, I've taken a few of the new structure. It's not done yet but if you want to see it, I put them on our photobucket page. http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v289/klc...Halloween%2007/

Awwww, they are so beautiful. Thanks Briar. I'll take them if you don't want them. Keith would probably kill me but he'd get over it.

This sounds like a lot of fun. Please count me in also.

You're a good man William. Best of luck to you, your family and your "evil fluff-ball of unholy cuteness". May you have many many wonderful years together.

Baconfest Buffalo was a combination of events, Baconfest and a WNY-haunters gathering. Unfortunately we were long gone on the road to read William's post so forget about following any of the traditions. Sorry William, maybe next year. Oh wait, tradition no. 3 was observed. First, our event began at 3:30 in TGI Friday's. Our choices were very limited but we made the best of it by ordering side dishes of bacon. The folks at Friday's were great and not only brought out bacon slices but bacon bits as well so if someone ordered something without it, we just put it on ourselves. Needless to say, we had plenty of potato skins loaded with bacon, bacon cheeseburgers, and various other pork products. Next we ventured off to several area haunted attractions in which we got lost in the catacombs, rode an elevator to Hell, pushed into a bottomless pit, attacked by an 8 ft. werewolf and chased by teenagers carrying chain saws. As our evening was winding down, our traditional birthday cake loaded with black frosting (that happens to turn everyones teeth green) was served along with much tequila, beer and woodchuck cider. A good time was had by all and we're looking forward to Baconfest XVI.

A week really isn't that long, considering today was a holiday as well. You could always give her a call instead of messaging.
