That looks awsome Red Handed Jill. I've also had great results with bucky lids. Another option to staining is air brushing.

Before all these wonderful ideas get lost in the shuffle, I've edited the original post to reflect what is needed and who is volunteering for said project. I hate to say it, but PIP 08 is a long way away. If you volunteer for a project many people will be depending on you to get the project done. If you volunteer for a project and it can't be completed or circumstances prevent you from getting the project to PIP, please speak up asap so others can step up and get it there. If I mistakenly have you signed up for a project, now and in the future, or you would like to be added and I miss it, please pm me and I will make the appropriate corrections.

I don't want to burst your bubble and I think it's a great idea but let's get the approval first. Once that happens, we need to know how many would be needed. Perhaps if they don't want them along the path we can have a couple set up on the beach to attract attention from the water.

Well, it's nearly 2:30 and the puppy has decided it's time to start crying. I wish I could let her out of her crate but it's bed time. Oh gosh, she's breaking my heart but I must be strong. No papers to change, ok that idea is out. A towel with her mommy's sent is right there. Maybe if I held her for a while. No, I can't do that it's bed time. Maybe if I pull out some blankets and sleep next to the crate that will keep her quite. I think I can live with that. Compromise.

The pallets are indeed free. If anyone one else can contact their garden centers, please do so.

How specific do you need the wood to be? Our local garden center throws away old pallets all the time as I'm sure many do. This is what we use to board up our windows at Halloween.

With a little prompting from Captain Sterling, this thread is for discussing and finding ways to make all the cool special effects for PIP 08 happen. There are so many talented and creative people here, the more resources we can pull from, the greater the chance the special effects will just blow people away. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to participate. From the beginning discussions to the actual construction. Looking forward to hearing all of your wonderful ideas and working with you to make this a PIP 08 project we can all be proud of.
