A very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you Spike. Much love and good thoughts that your personal issues will be dealt with quickly and with as little pain as possible. With love and big hugs to you darlin'.

Considering we were supposed to do that before Deltaville, we owe you a school visit.
-
Well then, Edward and I will just have to pirate-nap you on our way down there. Early if necessary.

Oh my. How can you even begin to argue with that kind of stupidity?

I received my Secret Santa gift a few minutes ago. I set it on the table thinking, I'm gonna wait till Christmas. Yeah right. That idea lasted a whole 5 seconds. Tearing into the box, I felt like a little kid in a candy store. I was so excited. First I open the little package, which was a very cool sticker with a picture of Anne Bonney that reads "Pirate Girls Kick Butt" (I need to find a special place to put it). Second, came a slightly larger package that was a key chain cap flintlock gun. (Oh Santa, how did you know? I think I'm gonna save that one for New Year's ) Next came the square package. Inside was a tin of homemade fudge. (Santa does know the way to a pirate girl's heart). Finally I opened the last package and that just left me completely speechless. A beautiful pair of pewter goblets. I still don't know what to say. But, thank you Secret Santa. They will make a wonderful addition to my kit and every time I use them, I will toast to the most awesome Santa. I'm not even gonna wait till the next event. They will be used every chance I get. hugs, Hugs and even more HUGS to you.

I received a wonderful hand made note from my Secret Santa informing me that they hadn't forgotten about me but they're snowed in and unable to get the parcel out. Being buried in snow myself at the moment, I would much rather have you safe in your home than out on the road trying to get to the post office. The note itself felt like a gift and made me smile so I'm sure once the actual gift arrives, I will be thrilled. Thank you Secret Santa

You are welcome to come here Nell. We're having a snow storm today, can't see more than a few feet in front of you. Silly me, tried to get some errands done before the snow really started flying. At least I made it home safe and sound. We've gotten about 6 inches in the past 4 hours. The only bright spot is watching Sophie burrow and roll in it and try to catch the snow flakes. Silly dog.

G'NIGHT - to all the other late night pub addicts
Lily Alexander replied to RustyNell's topic in Beyond Pyracy
Good night Nell. Sweet dreams darlin' -
Mary, do you want plastic? I think we have a few femurs and other skeletal parts that might work for you.

huh??? If a person is willing to travel half way across the country to play, wouldn't it be better to have them play safely? First time gun owners and folks that are not familiar with black powder, should be required to learn how to fire their weapon safely and in a manner that will not harm themselves or others. I have limited experience myself and would welcome any and all opportunities to attend any class offered to improve my skills. These are real fire arms and the potential for injury does exist.

So, does that make me Tweedle-dum. No, wait, don't answer that.

If we consider all the vendors and campers, an hour or couple of hours, shouldn't be too much to ask from anyone. I don't think you can force a watch on anyone that isn't willing or perhaps uncomfortable in that role. There are other things those folks can do to help out. I love the gate party idea.

My gift has been sent priority mail :)

Thank You Harry. Would it be possible to split the watches amongst the crews and vendors. For example, one night the Mercury has watch from 6-12 (or whenever the determined time shall be), 3 or 4 people from that crew could possibly stand 2 hours at a time. Next night, the vendors do the same, and so on. Depending on how many days we are allowed to camp and how many crews are represented. At the rate we are growing, it very well could be 2 crews split the duty each night. The only problem day would be Sunday. Not sure how many people would want to miss a moment of the pig roast. But, a couple of hours for one day is a small price to pay considering the privilege we are given at being allowed to camp in the park.

Harry, can you give us a hint about what the other issues are so that they can be addressed as well?
-
Just in case anyone didn't know. There were specific areas designated for each crew. Anyone could place their tent/sleeping arrangements anywhere they wanted to in those specific areas. For example, The Archangel crew had between this tree and that grill stopping at the path but could continue on if space was needed. The Mercury was placed in between the Archangel and BIB's so they could keep the feuding camps somewhat civil to each other. The only exception in regards to placement, was the Silkies Hide. That was determined by the location of the large fire. With the increasing number of crews that will be camping this year, it's bound to change again. I'm sure we will have a general idea of location before hand but specifics will most likely wait until we get there.
