  1. Aye Matt, that be true indeed! No fear of runnin out of cannon fire in the near future there!! Emerald
  2. Ah such a shame that it has been so long since your hat has found perchase upon your crown!! Tis a grand thing you remedied that error this week's end past! And to be able to do so at such a fine shire as Scarby - it fair makes my heart bleed with envy, being as a pair of years has come and gone since last I walked those fair lanes. It is my sincere hope that you did make many a merchant smile by sharing your gold with them. We had adventures of our own a week past - we did invade the shire of Castleton and set about carousing and enjoying ourselves. We are planning to raid another shire this coming weekend of Memorials - though we be headed north an east this time to the shire of Petit Lyon near to the port city of Saint Louis for some "R & R" before we head south an west for Lawton. May the winds blow ya gently to a sweet port. Until next we meet, Emerald
  3. Blackbead, Excellent well! Glad to know we shall definately be graced with friendly faces at this event! It has been far to long since I clapped eyes on ya an your crew, mate. Until a fortnight and a day passes, Fair Winds an' Followin' Seas Emerald
  4. Greetings, Just to let ya know that The Ladies of the Salty Kiss will be returning to the Dickison Starworld 20 Theater in Tulsa, Ok on Friday, May 25th to promote the opening of POTC 3: AWE! Come on out and join us for an evening of piracy and fun! Cap'n Emerald
  5. Charity - I too love the Renaissance period for several reasons - chief among them being it's easier to portray a female pirate when one can 'steal' men's Tudor pants rather than wearing a T-tunic! That's not to say, I have not done my fair share of early Briton and Medieval reenactment prior to finding my path to piracy. NVBarbossa - Yes, tis true, right next to Fort S[t]ill! Does that mean that we shall be making your acquaintance in June? Fair Winds ... Cap'n Emerald
  6. Greetings an Salutations! Mark your calendars now, so's you don't forget, June 2, 3, 9, & 10 for the 2nd Annual Lawton Renaissance Festival in Lawton, Oklahoma. Come on out and join us, The Ladies of the Salty Kiss, as we begin what is hoped to a long and happy performing relationship with this faire. We will be performing 4 shows per day "on stage" and 1 show per day at the Adult Smoker - we'll be debuting 3 new shows at this event - something you do not want to miss (espeically the show we've written espeically for the Smoker!) Here's to seeing ya there! Cap'n Emerald P.S. Keep a weather eye out in the pages of the latest (Spring) issue of "The Pyrates Way" - you just might find some familiar faces (and names) within them.
  7. Ahh, to bad it be way up there and we be way down here, Sally. This sounds like it would be a blast to be a part of. Maybe next year, if the fates are willing! Congrats on gaining such a sponsor! Luck to ya, Cap'n Emerald
  8. Greetin's All - Whilst I am stealing a few minutes away from the studies this semester, I wanted to drop by to let you know that "The Ladies of the Salty Kiss" (www.theladiesofthesaltykiss.com) will be performing March 17th & 18th at the 13th Annual Four Winds Renaissance Faire outside Whitehouse, Tx (www.fourwindsfaire.com). Come on out and help us celebrate St. Pat's Day! Fair Winds and Followin' Seas - Hope to see some of you scurvy dogs at the Faire this coming weekend! Capt'n Emerald
  9. Welcome ta the Pub, Bonney - may ya find all ya have been searching for. I'll be taking a tankard o' mulled mead if'n ya please Cap'n Emerald
  10. Lady Snow, It is never easy to loose the one you love let alone on a day that commemorates love. I have no words to ease your pain though I wish I did. I offer my prayers with the rest and ask that you be given all the strength and support you need to carry you through this most difficult time. Should you need someone to listen, I am always here and will listen for sometimes, just sharing the burden lightens the load. My most heartfelt condolences to you and your family during this time. With Respects, Kittye/Emerald
  11. Dinnae fash luv, ya can always travel up to OKC to catch the 3rd Annual Scarlet's Mid-Winter Festival (www.scarletsfest.com) the last weekend of January. Will be ALOT more to do and there will be ALOT more patrons that want to play than we encountered at the promo. Fair Winds and Followin' Seas Emerald
  12. Today is day 6, post-op for me. Put the crutches away on Saturday and been doing fine without them. So far today, I've not had to have any pain meds and knee is looking more "normal." I've two incisions, each about 1/4 inch in length and with 2 sutures in them. Still have a bit of a listing to port limp but, it is fading as the days pass. Due to the cartilage (meniscus) being folded double onto itself, doc had to take out more cartilage than he originally planned. That hasn't seemed to be a bother to the knee so far. Best thing is, I can bend my knee and stand on m' leg without it giving out or popping like a handgun and leaving me lying on the floor! I go back to see the doc on the 2nd (I'm guessing that's when they'll pull the stiches out). And if things look alright then, I can start more aggressive physical therapy to get everything tightened up and up to speed. Thank you all for your support and good wishes through out this ordeal - I don't think I would have done quite so well without the strength you each have lent to me. I am in your debt. Emerald
  13. That I will Kass and even though it will take a while to get this project done for the entire troupe - once the outfits are completed, I will post pictures of us in our "courtly duds." Emerald
  14. What the hell... I sent in a couple of photos .. what be the worst they can do? Take a look at 'em a tell me "Thanks for giving us new targets for the dart board in the newsroom!" And aye, Silkie, I bae well "above average" though, I shan't be sharing my size. Let us just say that I bae a perfectly proportioned Renaissance woman and that the Booby Fairy sneezed when she was standing o'r m' bed so that I got more than I bargained for in that department (at least they be real an' I dinnae have to pay a surgeon to make me look like a lass). Add to that, my heigth - and well ... a petite china doll, I am not. But, all the better for making the blokes take me seriously and intimidate any who says a woman shouldn't be captain of her own ship. Twill be interesting to see what the powers that be at the magazine say when tis all said and done. Best o' luck to all who did submit photos and congratulations to the winner. Emerald
  15. Kass, Thank ya for the leads my dear, they are greatly appreciated. I will check them out poste haste. Emerald
  16. A hearty welcome ta ya, lass. Here's ta ya staying a while an' enjoyin the sights an' sounds o' port. We've some silver tongued devils amongst our ranks, wouldn't be namin' any names but a Black Footed fellow does come to mind These be fine pirates to land amongst - an' hopefully in time, ya will come to consider this yar "home away from home" as so many o' us do. An' whilst yar buying, I'll take a nice tall glass o' ... water .. at least until the surgeon quits giving m' his "narcotics." Then, I'll be having m' tankard full o' Baileys! Welcome aboard an' Happy Holidays ta ya Lass. Cap'n Emerald
  17. Blackfoot - ya know how you an' I where tossing out ideas to get all of us "local" pyrates together? Well, seein' as how Bo be not far from m' homestead and being he and I have shore leave until Jan 8th (for the same bloody reason) - what 'bout attempting to have that get together? Bo - aye, tis true, Joplin be 'bout 45 mins from me (gods above, that puts me smack between you an' Blackfoot ... should I be worried? ) What say you, Bo - shall we attempt a get together of the "locals" afore shore leave be through? I know we've a new lass by the name of Scarlett Morgan near to Blackfoot an' Captain Jack Daniels be from the "Big Mac" area of Ok. Think it over fellers an' let a lass know, eh? Emerald
  18. Greetings, Any of you know where I might find cotton velveteen/velvet in lots of colors? And I'm talking some off the wall kind of colors - been able to locate more "standard" colors such as red, blue, hunter green, purple and brown. Needing assistance finding light greens (jade, seafoam), burgandy, a light orange, and a warm amber/topaz color. I'm trying to avoid having to buy up yards of white velvet/velveteen and having to then figure out how to dye it and get it all to turn out even (we're talking dying about 10yards of each color). Any leads or information would be greatly appreciated. Have a grand one Emerald
  19. Mates All, I recieved offical notice that the long standing Renaissance Faire of the Midlands in Council Bluffs, Iowa has shut it's gates after 23 years due to lack of funding and ever rising operational costs. This is a sad time among the Rennie community as we loose yet another area of sanity in an ever increasing insane world. For those of you who never got the opportunity to visit this faire, you missed out on a really nice faire - the only one I know of that ran at night on Friday so that the working folk could come out and enjoy themselves. At least myself and my crew where lucky enough to bring laughter and smiles to the patrons for three years. Those memories will stay with us the rest of our lives. Here's hoping this is not the end of faires in the Council Bluffs area. Emerald
  20. Come on out this weekend to the Prime Outlet Mall in Gainesville, Texas and join "The Ladies of the Salty Kiss" as we entertain mall shoppers at the Scarlet's Festival Shoppe (Shop # 560) both Saturday and Sunday. Joining us on Saturday from 3pm-5pm will be the "Bilge Pumps" from DFW area. Artist, Alain Viesca will be on hand for art signings. So, come on out and enjoy a mini-ren faire in the middle of the holidaze rush and get those last minute presents for the ren faire lover in your life! We'll save ya a seat at our shows! (each one will be different) Fair Seas and Followin' Winds Cap'n Emerald
  21. Yeah, yeah, I know this area is for music. However, my group and I do *not* sing - we do comedy. And hang it all, I am very proud of our first CD, "Nautical Fairy Tales: Vol 1, Tails of the Seas." It has taken us a long time to get it produced and well, you all know how proud a new momma is of her kid ... think of this CD as my "kid." For more information or to order a CD (or other merchandise) please visit: The Ladies of the Salty Kiss Homepage TLotSK Cafe Press Storefront Thanks for your patience with this advertisement, we now return you to your regular pillaging and plundering. Fair Winds an' Followin Seas Cap'n Emerald
  22. A couple of others Diamond, my gaoler, penned and sent last night. Enjoy one an all! I Saw Captain Kissing Santa Claus I saw Captain kissing Santa Claus Underneath the mistletoe last night. She didn't hear me creep Up the stairs to have a peep She thought that I was tucked up In my hamock fast asleep. Then I saw Captain tickle Santa Claus Underneath his beard so snowy white. Oh, what a laugh it would have been If the others had only seen Captain kissing Santa Claus last night. (repeat) -------------------------------------------------- This next one is a spin off of the entire crew and our names. Ruby, The Red-Nosed Pirate You know Emerald and Diamond and Amethyst and Jade, Drinks all the rum under coconut shade, But do you recall the most famous pirate of all? Ruby the red-nosed pirate Had a very shiny nose And if you ever saw it You would even say it glows All of the other pirates Used to laugh and call her names They never let poor Ruby Join in any pirate games. Then one foggy Christmas Eve Emerald came to say, "Ruby with your nose so bright Won't you guide our way tonight?" Then how the pirates loved her As they sloshed and spilled their drinks "Ruby the red-nosed pirate, You'd look cute even in pink."
  23. This one was penned by my Gaoler I'll be Home at Yuletide (tune of "I'll be Home for Christmas) I'll be home at Yuletide, You can count on me. Please have snow and mistletoe And candles 'round the tree Life at Sea is Lonely, WIthout your loved ones 'round. I'll be home for Yuletide For I am Homeward Bound. I'll be home at Yuletide, Just you wait and see. Fruit to eat ... and lots of meat, And presents under the tree. No more hammock to sleep in, Hanging from the beams. I'll be home for Yuletide ... If Only in my Dreams.
  24. A hearty "Welcome Haim" tae ya Cap'n. An' a toast ta your health Emerald
