  1. Ahhh.... Well, now... now Foxe hunts t'day. So, happy birthday to ye, Mr Foxe. How's 'bout a nice, fine rum cake t' celebrate thy day with? ~Lady B
  2. Dear God, it's another December baby! Happy Birthday to ye, Badger. :) Now, did ye galavant all piratically for thy Bday? Better yet, did ye plunder what ye wanted? ~Lady B
  3. A hearty happy birthday to ye, Will! Hope it was a hell of an event. LOL ~Lady B
  4. Nope, this is the place to post that, Mooseworth. And you got yo'rself quite the mug there, mate. Nice find. Well, recently found some awesome items over the past couple of months with barely any 'damage' (as mooseworth would say) to m' purse. What had I found? ~a full size period lantern ~a portal writing desk, small but roomy enough to hold many quill pens, a couple of ink bottles, several seals, several sticks of wax and large amounts of paper in normal legal standard size. Plus, room to spare! For only $2. Sits comfortably upon a table or flat surface or lap. ~more mugs (granted they had the clear bottoms) ~linen, hemp, cotton, etc threads and yarns .... that's just a small amount of various finds. I've passed over so much already such as candleboxes, silver platers and other silver wares, brass candleholders in period style, etc. And where did I find all these? One place - Goodwill! Amazing what you can find there, hmm? Oh, BTW... I purchased a loverly colonial chair from a retired art professor from the U of I (real cheap, no more than $20) and it's absolutely gorgeous! It's a Windsor style with the armrests and better yet... it's a braceback! Plus... wishing I have $400. I saw on Craigslist that an antique rope bed was up for sale in the Cedar Rapids area. ::: whimpers::: Oh! Auctions! Don't forget them! Obtained an antique wood folding table for $10. Perfect to carting to events. Anyone still finding awesome stuff out there? I can't recall who found it... but they stated that Michaels Craft store had linen thread. They sure do and don't pass it up, mates! Plus, that's where I found some of my small, wood chests that hold most of my clothing, cookery, utensils, etc. ~Lady B
  5. Ahoy, oh sparkly diamond-y one. Be yo'r choice of colonial ladies footwear be th' same? Or is there pictures of the selections you have available again? I'm pondering about obtaining a pair (at least) in time for RF (praying I get to attend, barring illness or weather). ~Lady B
  6. A hearty welcome to ye, Mr Noland. Ye've come t' th' right place. ~Lady B
  7. The Brotherhood of Steel (a loosely historical swordfighting group out of Iowa, I've been learning some swordfighting techniques from them) use Starfire swords. And they are highly recommended along with a couple other 'brands'. I've seen them in action, never really handled one. But yes, they are good. However, most I have seen have been the heavier weapons - broadswords and the sort. Good luck with them. ~Lady B
  8. Dear God! Someone be named after m' hometown! Frightenin'. :::shakes head::: anyways.... them be right nice, Wayland. Brilliantly decorated. An' th' image be loverly, too. ~Lady B
  9. Hmmm... sounds interesting enough. Shall look forward to it if it comes out on film. Otherwise, if time allows... I MIGHT read it. Again, Might being IF time allows. Post yo'r reviews of this book, mates, if ye've read it. Please? ~Lady B
  10. Ya know, I can't be givin' ye a thrashin' of words as I have yet t' meet ye, ya devil. :) But, I'm no fool t' let loose m' tongue either. Havin' been around one "Doctor" of historical sorts, I know better than an' keep m' tongue clamped an' mouth in check! Happy Birthday to ye, Mission. Here's to ye ... ::: offers a toast::: to a grand questionable gent Doc who had gained a hell of a reputation amongst we pirates, buccaneers, privateers and th' sort. Huzzah to ye, Mission. Here be one blessed year t' ye! Again, Happy Birthday. ~Lady B
  11. McCool... do I know ye from somewheres? Have I threatened ye b'fore? Hmmm... th' name sounds vaguely familiar. Anyways... welcome to th' Pub, McCool. Glad ye joined we wicked lot. ~Lady B
  12. Ahoy an' welcome, Gypsy. Glad ye joined we wily piratical types here at th' Pub. So, Matt lured ye here via rum recipes, hmm? Hahahaha... good lad! Shall look forward t' seein' more of ye. ~Lady B
  13. Ahoy an' welcome Beth. Tis grand t' have ye with us here at th' Pub! Ye've come to th' right spot, lass. As t' role playin'... not much online any more. Most has dwindled down. I think there may be a little bit of role playin' still possible here on th' Pub. Otherwise, most role playin' we do be at events an' in person! Scarey, isn't it? Hehehehe Glad t' have ye aboard here with us. ~Lady B
  14. Do my nieces count? They are little? LOL... I'm fired up and ready to go, a hunting for treasure I will go... soon. Oh, and BTW... to the poor soul who has me... I'll try t' make it easy on ya. Here be a list of helpful ideas: -candlesticks, period style, unscented -a couple or few yards of green velveteen -fabric -anything Barbossa -anything Megatron -if you are a good artist, a new rendition of my Transformers character would be nice. Just check out my Deviant Art page to see what she looks like and go from there. -charcoal pencils and/or nice colored pencils Otherwise... wing it. I'm a pirate after all. I'll let ye guess what else I fancy. Well, besides Pirate's Choice rum! Mmmm... Looking forward to the list of whom I have. ~Lady B

  16. MerryD had surgery the other day on her rotator cuff. She wanted me to drop a message here to let you all know she's doing fine. She'll pop on when she is able to. Send her your thoughts and prayers. :) ~Lady B
  17. Very awesome, Matt! Can't wait t' place a vote (unless I get to vote more than once... doubtful :) ). Alas, the link is not functioning at least for me. My internet keeps aborting each time. Maybe it's just me... but, figured I will let you know. :) ~Lady B
  18. Ahoy, Nathaniel. Tis grand t' have a lad such as yo'rself here upon th' Pub. And ye've come t' the right place. Yo'r not alone bein' a pirate from Minnesota. Plenty of Minnesota pirates here. I be in th' state south of ye... in Iowa. Shall hope t' cross paths with ye some time at some event in th' future. :) ~Lady B

So... who be yo'r favorite pirate, Brennan? What more do ye like? Football? Animals? Military? Transformers? Skydiving? other sports? Cooking? etc... BTW, lad.. ye have one incredible Aunt. She loves ye much. :) ~Lady B
  20. Count me in. :) More than happy to do this again. PM is being sent of the new address. ~Lady B
  21. Reconstructing History use to sell charts. I don't know if they still do or not. From what I've been told, they don't. A pity, 'cause I purchased two charts from them and they are fabulous. Yo'r charts look brilliant. I may obtain some from ye. ~Lady B
  22. Hmmmm... Now ye lot have me thinkin'. Tis impossible for me to find a mattress and box spring for my antique bed (supposedly a three-quarters bed), 4 poster, looks nice, walnut. Might have to think about altering it with rope and a futon mattress then otherwise, may use for a bed at reenactments. Damn, now I wish I had bid on that smaller nearly twin size rope bed at an auction late last month. So, um... one just drills holes in the square side boards for the ropes? ~Lady B
  23. Hmmm... would be good to have for pirate events. ~Lady B
  24. Thanks for the hello

  25. LOL... They should never wonder how they still have a job. It's all because of we crazy, crafty people. Shall look forward to seeing the mantua when finished. ~Lady B
