  1. My thoughts exactly. That could be one way for Rush to return. Though.. will be very interesting to see what the writer's come up with... depending on Rush's return or not. Huzzah!
  2. : shrugs:: Rush trying to portray a younger version of himself? Interesting. Though... I REALLY would love to see Hector return. If not Hector than a brother or whatever. But Hector returning.. that will be funny in a manner of speaking... to see Jack's face.. let alone Will's & Elizabeth's. One never knows.. that chest lid was closed when they left the cave.. then it was open for that clip at the end of the credits.. well... when it panned in to show Barbossa lifeless on the mound it was shut.. then we see the monkey.. monkey up to the chest.. :: Gasp:: what be this?! Lid OPEN! Wonder how? Hmmm. There was another rumor about the sequel. Supposedly told by Orlando Bloom.. sometime back in August... about Liz getting kidnapped again by pirates.. Will & Jack go to free her, find out it's a trap set by the daughter of Barbossa (supposedly played by Selma Hayek).. & are to battle some rather odd looking creatures.. with some ship battles scenes later as well... Pearl is destroyed.. etc... the supposedly story about the battling the creatures sounded too... Spy Kids-ish... if anyone has seen (be if willingly or unwillingly) the 2nd Spy Kids movie. Thus far.. I haven't heard any other rumors. Which... I am not complaining about. Would rather get proper info from Bess.. than to get some odd-ball rumor from some odd-ball online. I guess.. eventually.. we will find out later. Won't we, ladies & gents? :) Huzzah!
  3. Hey, Jack! Still have a thing for the ol' Interceptor, eh? I'm sure a couple folks we know off that direction will enjoy that bit of info. Alas... if only I were nearer, though. I doubt that grand ship would make it up the mighty Mississippi. Don't really want her to try it. God knows what is under the muddy waters of that vast river. Mostly trees/logs, etc. Thank ye much fer the info therem shipmate! Huzzah!
  4. I heard about that rumor back in September, Lady Elaina. ::shrugs:: will be interesting if that is true. As to Bootstrap returning.. doesn't sound like it. If anyone has listened to the Writer's commentary... they most likely state he is dead. But the last clip following the credits... the writer's were rather quite for that one. Not a word other than "poor Geoffrey".. hehehehehe. Poor man, indeed.. the monkey not behaving getting water squirted in his face... & god knows what else.. hehehehe.. damn, the man just needs an Oscar for endurance! Again.. I like the title of "Treasures of the Lost Abyss". If that's really what they will use... kinda makes me wonder what they have in mind. & Mostly what I come up with, is rather good. So.. I'm excited about this one. :) Can't wait for the open casting call. Keep us informed as to what you can tell us, Bess. Always open to the correct info. Need good info instead of rumors. Oooh, again... with Rush returning... I can actually see some good ways he can return... not just as Hector Barbossa.. though, woud love to have Hector back... doesn't mean Hector has to return.. perhaps a different Barbossa? Or.. as I remember, the Writer's have other ideas in mind. Can't wait. Huzzah!
  5. Drink up well for me, mates. Alas.. it appears all my shipmates 'round here are going to be sticks in the mud & just pass the nightway as though it were just an oridinary night... like they always do each year. Need a wilder band of landlubbers. So.. drink up mor ethan double ration for me, ladies & gents. I be stuck with my sister's half-pints. :: groans:: Huzzah!
  6. Did anyone else get some pictures of the DVD release party? Plenty of fantastic pix of the festival... which now I am kicking myself into making plans to go. But.. again.. anyone have pix of the DVD release party? Anyone..? Huzzah!
  7. I agree with Jack, Iron Bess & who ever else... Geoffrey Rush deserves a nomination of sorts... if not what the writer's stated.. that Rush deserves just an Oscar for the eyes. Dear GOD! I agree there! ::Le sigh:: It's good to hear that Johnny Depp was nominated for his role. Deserves it. Just hope that Geoffrey Rush is nominated for his performance. Wishful hopes, few & far between. But hell... be it for PotC or Finding Nemo... he just made both movies really fun to enjoy. Huzzah to the Year of the Pirate! Huzzah!
  8. Wish I could, shipmate... but, alas... this lass is landlocked in the midwest & no means to get out west. Let alone a fine pic of meself... other than what is on the Pub's photo album. I just hope.. they keep the casting calls a comin'. & Praying I get a chance with PotC 2. Would have been fun to do this one... unfortunately, never seen an episode of Spongebob Squarepants. I wish luck, Redd! Huzzah!
  9. Sounds like I will have to be makin' plans for next year's PiP. I've heard a tad about GARF. & may be goin' there.. sometime. Meetin' up with a couple gents.. who have talked me into it. Can't wait. So.. off I be... lookin' for the pix of the PiP '03. :) Huzzah!
  10. Hmm... Wonder if I can get away with using that type of sword now in the Rev War unit I am with. :: evil grinz:: As to Jack.. Not sure. ::pats the previous Jack on back::: But this one be a rather fun gent to be sure. :) It's Barbossa you have to watch out for. Because you can never predict when he will come in here ... & start burin' the place. But... to keep him at bay... keep the drinks a comin' & the ladies in waiting.. & he may be satisfied.. for the moment. Many a Jack Sparrow... a couple Barbossa's.. I think. But.. heck.. there can only be ONE... Anastazia Blackheart! Cheers! Huzzah!
  11. Very interesting! Sounds like it was more than fun. Now I am wishing I could have been there. Ahh... anyone have more details on the DVD release party? As well as Pictures? Huzzah!
  12. ::nearly jumps out of own skin:: Mother's love! JACK! Tis bad luck to be scarin' a lass like that. Check out the other thread about the pistol. I still have yet to hear from Dixie Gunworks about the pistol. But Billy Bones is rather gracious enough to be searchin' the prop houses in Feb for the model or the sort that is Barbossa's pistol. Track of the Wolf, Inc only told me what model they thought that the pistol may be of. But.. as to the elaborate decor on the pistol... still left me in the dark. They only had parts & you would have to assemble it. Not good in my book. There is a good number of assistance here ... check out the other thread as well about the Barbossa sword... there are other places to get one. As to prices... :: Shrugs:: your guess is as good as mine. As to the Barbossa ring... I have a few pix of it. I sent them to a person out east who may be able to assist in having them made. Keeping my fingers crossed. :) Tis good to see ya here, Jack! All we need is Barbossa & we have ourselves more than a party! Though... we would have to refrain him from burning the pub... this is one place that we need to keep standin' Huzzah!
  13. Why, Thank ye, Billy Bones. Ye are a true gent to be a helpin' out. The Propmaster for PotC was Chuck Stuart(?). A little extra here... the 2 gents portraying Murtogg & Mulroy... Those 2 would be SOOOO much fun at a re-enactment! :) Plus.. Lee's little statement in Diary of a Pirate... love it with Johnny Depp there... comedy night being more fun with Sparrow than Barbossa. LOL.. he hasn't heard the Barbossa I know. Again, thank ya Billy .... I truly appreciate it. Huzzah!
  14. The pistol, I believe, is a firing, working pistol. The one for Jack Sparrow is a real pistol of the era. It was stated in An Epic as Sea documentary on the Special Features disc #2. As to what kind of the era... I don't know. However... I am looking at who was the maker of this pistol. As this pistol is more a working prop for the movie.. & not an authentic antique of the era. Like I said, it's the same exact type of pistol used in "Cutthroat Island". In the PotC documentary... they mentioned that all but Jack's pistol were replicas made by someone out of LA. It's trying to find someone willing to make a replica of that Barbossa pistol. I want one.. as well as perhaps a dozen other people.. maybe more.. I know. They can make a firing-full functional &/or a replica non-firing pistol (which is cheaper for some & safer in some cases). Huzzah!
  15. Hmm... interesting. I like the title... I'm sure the story will be fun & fantastic like the first movie. But... Bess... are they still planning to get Geoffrey back? PM me if you wish. I'm rather good at secrets. I hate releasing info... bad for others to screw it up... usually that's what happens. Honestly... I do hope they bring Geoffrey Rush back... doesn't mean it has to be Hector Barbossa... maybe a brother ... running along the same lines of the Barbarossa brothers. Oooor... Maybe something else... plenty of good stories to go around with the New World. Shoot.. the chest the Aztec gold is in... that's a mystery unto itself! Which I have shocked a few people now.. the designs on the chest are actually Inca, not Aztec.. :) the designs on the chest are from an Inca ruin in So. America which is Viracocha surrounded by the birds, I think is a condor. Which.. could lead into another story there as well. Even this movie could shed more light into how Jack came into possesion of the compass & the location of the Isla de la Muerta. Can't wait for it! & don't forget the open casting call!! Huzzah!
  16. I do have a better pic or 2.. but like I said, no way of posting them. However.. I did speak with Track of the Wolf, inc... they mentioned that it was some early 18th c or 1715(?) type model... I'm trying to remember what all they told me. However... it's the engraving & the metal work that will be the harder part. Now.. in the special features, it was mentioned that someone out of LA did the weapons.. besides Jack's pistol which is a real pistol (lucky gent). I don't know if there was another person that had a real pistol. I know Jack's sword was real.. well, one of them was... & I think that Barbossa had a real one as well, besides a couple replica/copies as well. The hammer/cock/ etc.. it looks to be a virginia type (forgive me if it's rather vague)... the barrel is smoothbore, obviously... but the most visable of all, is the silver metal work that is rather elaborate.. as well as the butt of the pistol has a skull, double-sided.... It's almost easier to just watch the movie to see it.. or even the special features of PotC, since there are a couple or few places you can get a close up of the pistol. Huzzah!
  17. Oooh, that deleted of Jack & Elizabeth is rather... attention grabbing. Makes one wonder a bit about Jack. The Diary of a Ship was the VERY first thing I watched when I got my DVD last week, monday ... at midnight, etc. Got the doubloon from Wal mart & all... anyway... LOVE Diary of a Pirate with Lee Arenberg... that was fantastic! The little bit there with Lee & Johnny.. I just crack up! This is obviously one of my favorites on the special features. Blooper Reel is hilarious. Oooh... & love the deleted of the parlay "French"... great.. wonderul! I again crack up when watching this one. The movie.. Well.. I have been watching it everyday since I bought it. Watched it 19 times in the theater. I agree.. there is something about this movie. It's beyond fantastic. It's highly entertaining. So many scenes I love in that movie. I love the majority of the scenes that involve Barbossa. But LOVE that island scene, after Jack wakes up... too funny! As well as the swordfight scene between Jack & Barbossa.... especially when Barbossa goes after Jack "arrhhh!" & Jack runs away like some wuss flaling his arms about with wide eyes.. too funny! The sequel will be a welcome one, to be sure. More of Jack... that's for sure. Wish Barbossa would return. Huzzah!
  18. Aye. I searched a variety of replica places.. but not one is relatively Barbossa's pistol. I truly wish I could at least post the image here to show ya. It's a VERY nice pistol. Huzzah!
  19. Well.. I did try to link it.. using my free site.. but alas.. did not work. I have worse luck than Jack Sparrow. Huzzah!
  20. Unfortunately... the sites I found them on.. no longer exist or have been changed to something else. Sad to say. So... no.. no sites to link to. Which.. is not entirely fair. ::le sigh:: I may... try to put it on a geocities page :: groans:: IF the silly thing cooperates with me. Huzzah!
  21. I would if I could. All I have are the pix I found, but no way or means to post them here. Huzzah!
  22. :) Good to see that there are places selling this type of sword. It's now finding out which ones are a better deal, good price & battle worthy IF you intend to use it in a swordfight. Thank you so much for this information. I know 1 person who has a fantastic Barbossa costume that was recently made. As well as 2 other people wanting to do a Barbossa costume as well. The boots are available... now the sword... the final is the pistol & the ring. Huzzah!
  23. I noticed that the pistol that Barbossa used in Pirates of the Caribbean appears to be the same type of pistol that was used by Dawg in Cutthroat Island. I've been searching all over the web for the maker of this particular pistol. But to no avail. I have found a couple pictures online of the pistol... & have a couple more of Barbossa with the pistol. Anyway point me in the right direction to get ahold of a replica, working or non firing, of this special pistol? Otherwise.. does anyone know of a good pistol maker who would be more than willing to make a few of them? I know that there would be a few others wanting this pistol besides myself. Thank ye much, mates! Huzzah!
  24. Aye.. true.. true.. too much supernatural can be overbearing. I am curious as to what the writers will do with the sequel. Not sure if they will continue with the cursed Aztec gold or not. Because of the monkey bit following the credits. The chest still intregues me.. as I have in a way... been 'studying' it.... silly I know.. but a good portion of it is familiar... especially Viracocha on the sides & all. & I do believe that it was the Plumed Serpent that decorated the lid as well. The skulls were arranged rather strangely.. almost like a hieroglyph of old civilization. As well as the design around Viracocha.. looked like a hieroglyphic bird. It seemed to be more a mix of Aztec, Mayan & Inca. But with Viracocha.. that's more Inca. As Jack said so well- "That's interesting." :: shrugs:: I guess.. depends on what other ghost stories or more are out there. Anyone know of any other erie, ghostly haunting sea stories? Maybe they will use a war like background in the sequel... Spaniards .. or the French... :: shrugs:: Huzzah!
  25. Right nice there, Broadside. Dashing gent ye are. Undead or not. I do plan to do the same. Just findin' the time to do it is the issue. All I can say.. is I am truly enjoying the DVD. As to the Media Play... I heard about it... from a person in Georgia. Amazingly enough.. he & a friend of his passed off rather well as Jack Sparrow & Barbossa. Dead on costumes! His friend as Barbossa is just rather... uncanny! :) Wishing now that we had something like that up here in the middle of nowhere (Iowa).. or at least some store that would have had a little... promo of that sort. It's grand to have this great adventure within our grasp now. To have within our treasury. Huzzah!
