  1. Good stuff, guys. Impressive. Moose... your outfits rocks beyond compare, mate. Dude! :: worships:: :: cringes:: Ugh, don't remind me of the Recluse. :: Shivers and cringes:: I've been bit by them twice and both were a hellish "on the verge of death" experience. ~Lady B
  2. Patiently waiting for my computer to be fixed. Feeling moreso marooned. :( ~Lady B

  3. Bah! I wish I could assist, Wes. My own comp with all those images is currently out of commission. Perhaps Sterling will pop on here and show some great examples. Or Michael. ~Lady B
  4. A hearty welcome, good sir. Aye, plenty of us marooned inland and having fun as well. But enjoy thyself in RI. :) Glad t' have ye here on th' Pub. ~Lady B
  5. A mighty Happy Birthday to ye, Shipmate! Hopefully we can celebrate out Bdays ever so belated at Port Wash. ~Lady B
  6. I've not see piping, but I have seen plenty of couching on outfits. Even couching with a satin stitch. ~Lady B
  7. That is an unexpected. A cocked hat on the side of the road. Who'd'a thunk? heh. ~Lady B
  8. Hey, all ye with wee pirates-in-training... Disney Channel has a new kiddie cartoon, "Jake and the Neverland Pirate". It's pretty cute. Something close to along the lines of Dora the Explorer. Again, a cute show for the kiddies. ~Lady B
  9. Th' best of Bday wishes to ye, Willoughby! Happy Birthday to ye! ~Lady B
  10. Looks more Arab than QH or Stang. Nice little horsey though. :) Aye. They just know who to respect and who not to respect. They WILL test you. Tis a good thing you are doing, Bo. It's another chance for them. Just like orphan kids. I condemn people who cannot take care of their pets well enough, especially those who leave their animals behind to starve to death. Saw this recently with the local animal shelter here. 3 Coon Hounds were brought in looking like nothing by skin and bones in horrible shape, bloody and cuts, etc all over them. Plus another dog, an Aussie Shepherd that was just left behind when the people moved, tied to a car engine in a garage with no food or water. It was a miracle it was alive when the authorities found it. Animals with illnesses, like a dog with congestive heart failure, and they just give it up to the shelter instead at least attempting to make it's last days comfortable. Bo... you are doing a great thing. Keep it up, my friend. ~Lady B
  11. Marooned and wants to go play pirate... badly! ~Lady B

Rum huh? Aye, the reason I be savin' m' bottle of Pirate's Choice to when next I get to go play Pirate.

  12. Awww... Too sad to hear. Indeed, I'm with these gents. M' Prayers for the lad as well as you and the family. Shall pray for a miracle. ~Lady B
  13. Oh, how I wish I had my comp. The Fob examples are fantastic. Yup, you are correct, Jen. There is a single portion/part to the fob that is over the shoulder then splits off so to speak. It's so difficult to describe and easier to show ye. But the image there, is pretty close to how it appears on an outfit. ~Lady B
  14. Indeed very nice! Great work! :) Larger than the ones I've been using. I've been cheating using a particular a smaller leather journal from Barnes and Noble. I like your books a lot. :) Large enough for a good ship's ledger/log/journal. :) ~Lady B
  15. Yup. Plus some of those styles that Sterling povided, that with the right type of fabric, whitework could possibly mimic the period lace. That's my thoughts. Hmmm... another book to ponder about getting. You are evil Grymm. :) ~Lady B
  16. Those look more like the Fobs rather than epaulettes. V&A Museum has some photo examples and I don't think there really is a pattern. There were many variations of the shoulder Fobs. Ribbons, cloth, jewels, metal, cameos, mirrors, etc... all were part of these Fobs. At least, that's what were seen from the examples of he V&A. Also, the MYC Met Museum had a couple of them, too. Sorry if I don't have pictures or links. All that is on my computer and I'm not currently on my comp. ~Lady B
  17. An awesome book, isn't it, Korisios? I constantly utilize that book. The references are just beyond fantastic. Yes, the examples in the book are beyond incredible. There are a lot of great examples out there of the embroidery on outfits. Both in the surviving pieces and the paintings. ~Lady B
  18. I'm with McCool.... I don't think the outfit really is the real thing. I've seen a full costume from PotC 1 and it did not look like that. It's close. But, oh, well. It's the fault of the museum to show a costume that's inaccurate to the film. A nice find nevertheless, Bo. It's always nice to see the costumes displayed at various places. It indeed is art. ~Lady B
  19. LMAO!!! Oh, amen, Bo! Apparently those talking about Global Warming haven't lived in the Midwest! :) Looks like where I live, Bo. Drifts up to 4 feet high, and the piles on the side of the road over 6 foot! Crazy. Haven't seen snow like this in a while and just filled with glee. Dogge... you should have been here in Iowa. I guarantee it, you would have been putting your jeep to the test. Or even Chicago for that matter. Wow, was awesome! Oh, Gertie... it was brilliant! So much snow. Thanks, Hurricane. Yes, generally from the north, again we are use to this and honestly, I'm bummed out when it doesn't snow much or at least have one storm like this. Just not a normal winter to me. Bring on the cold, bring on the snow. At least with cold, you can pile on the layers. You can NOT take off the layers the hotter it gets. Cause once you get to the bare skin and you are still hot to the point of heat stroke, nothing much else to do other than get into AC. Haha, ironic.. get into the cold! So, yes... you can keep your warm weather for now. I'm enjoying the snow. I just don't like the road graders all that well. Spent the whole afternoon yesterday digging out the drivway after a road grader drove by, pushing snow up to nearly 5 feet high. And this morning as well. At least that was just over 2 feet. Bah! Tucker ( the dog) is REALLY enjoying the snow. He's ALWAYS playing in it. The only way to get him back inside so he doesn't freeze, is to drag him inside! The dog LOVES the snow. :) Oh, yes. The cold. The temps reached in the teens below zero, with wind chills between 20 to 30 below zero. Typical following a storm like that. No need for your heart to go out to us, Micheal. I don't think any of us were stranded on Lake Shore Drive or anywhere else. I think most of us were too smart to be stuck in this. Can't wait for the next snow storm. :) ~Lady B
  20. Is one Pirate in a Blizzard and enjoying it. ~Lady B

  21. Yeah yeah... warm weather... we get it. But, you can keep your warm weather... already had my fair share of that last summer! Too warm in my opinion. Well... one of the Blizzard areas. LOTS and LOTS of snow. Well over a foot of snow and still counting. Been Whiteout since 1pm Tuesday. The storm started at 11am, hours before anticipated. Nearly 15 hours of snowfall and blizzard winds. Roads are unpassible. Travel Not Advised or Closed roads all around. The Plows were pulled because it was just impossible to keep up with the snowfall and the blowing snow that once the roads were plowed, they were covered just minutes later. The Weather people were not kidding when they said "this winter storm is one for the record books". It really is. But sadly, people are still stupid enough to be out in it. Or they were during the day. And even in the "daylight" (and I stress that) as it literially was whiteout, you could barely see 25 feet in front of you. Roads covered in a few inches of snow. Oh, and mind you, this is in town. Outside of the towns and cities..., yeah, right! YOU CAN'T DRIVE ANYWHERE! Accidents galore, whiteout completely, etc. You risk your life out in the rural areas. You know it's bad outside of town when it's bad in town! And now... we await the deadly cold behind this blizzard. Ahhh, the joys of Iowa weather. Yes, this is something that if you are NOT from here, you most definitely will NOT tolerate this sort of weather. Period! :) BRING IT ON!! ~Lady B
  22. Feeling like I've been keelhauled twice and left marooned.

Thank ye, Hook. Let's just say it's all the above.

  23. I'm not as thrilled with these lower heel ladies shoes as I am with their other shoes they no longer carry. The ones they once had, I still have them, work great, look nice for women, have a low squash heel and do NOT look like men's shoes! I do keep hoping they bring back those nicer women's shoes with the low squash heel. ~Lady B
  24. Computer has a virus and none too happy about it! Desperately wants to keelhaul the blighter who gave my comp a virus! ~Lady B

  25. ::: waves hand in motion to above statements::: Like they said, but depends upon the attitude of the Officers and the Captain I suppose. ~lady B
