When ever life improves for this marooned Lady, I've a good many ideas m'self for events. Aye, still a great number of possibilities. I've a list of scenarios I've been working on since 2007. Most I have yet to put into practice. Would LOVE to. Aye, many of the trades have yet to be practiced fully at events other than just displays. I'm sure several events there have been people performing them. I know with the crew I'm trying to set up, I want to be quiet involved and realistic with cleaning of weapons, working on sails or woodworking as though repairing a ship, or have a deck and actually 'cleaning', inventory of goods (which I am slowly still working on a stockpile of items to look like goods taken from a prize), etc. Aye, a good number of things can be done. Truly do wish I could partake. I'm a wealth of ideas. Someday, mates. Shall venture to Put In Bay. ~Lady B

Well said, Silas. Besides, a few surviving pieces have shown us that some have been altered to fit the fashion as it progressed. ~Lady B

Sorry this is late posted. Would like to see if you found anything. Alas, a lot of the Chinese Silks I see today, rarely look like what was used in the 18th c. Some solids would work. ~Lady B

Question, how much smaller is it? Another option could be... use a string to loop to the button... or lace the collar if you do not want to remove it and piece it. Piece it does sound like a proper way of it. I did use a string loop to button one shirt. And for another that was not able to close, just used a small cotton twill lace to close or slightly close the collar, If you are using a cravat, doesn't really have to be closed completely. Unless you are definitely going for upper class... well, then... all the upper class shirts I've seen were spot on with buttons. ~Lady B

Here's another goodie... find belgium cotton fabric. Oddly, it mimics the fine, smooth, sheer silk. It's hard to find and expensive but worth it! it's so very lovely and perfect. I couldn't find a good silk that fit my standards, so the belgium cotton was my next best possibility. Besides, it does look just like the fabric of those cravats shown above. Another I have noticed is silks often varied, some had cotton interwoven into them. Guess... it would depend upon your persona. Just keep your eyes open. It's been interesting to see what stores have. I don't even try online because.. if I can't see it and feel it, forget it! ~Lady B

A patient just sort of lying there? Hmmm... most scenarios that we did in the NWTA, the wounded being worked on were squirming all over the place, taking several people (at least) to literally hold the person down. Be that what you want, Mission? :) Aye, Michael. Though not Pirate events that weekend, lots of other events that some are not historically minded... mind you. You said there's a website, aye? Be there a link for it? I'll put it up on the Resurrection's website links. ~Lady B

Early start is good. Generally, as we can tell, it's the postal and shipping services that seem to be the area of concern most. ~Lady B

Aye, I think the Firefighters would enjoy a bit of Blackbeard's special effects. ~Lady B

Aye. Ditto. And folks were starting to not believe me a couple years ago when mail was going screwy. Aye, I have had some bad experiences with all the shipping mediums. Hope th' gifts arrive at their destinations soon. ~Lady B

Hmmm... many an event that weekend, too. Hmmm. Pity events cannot be spread out more. Thank ye though. Shall make a notation of it. ~Lady B

LMAO!!! Will give a whole new meaning to the Occupy movement! Hmm... maybe they would actually get rid of a few nutcases that have fallen in with the Occupy Wall Street movement. Ahhh, but Mission... you do the scary ship's surgeon so well. Can you see Jack Sparrow and you? And we all thought he was frightened of the Cannibals. Nope... it's Mission he's moreso frightened of! We love ya Mission! You deserve to be a character in a movie! Jolly Roger. Hmmm. ::: Shrugs :::: I still think they should take on Black Syren's character and use Angelina Jolie like she said would be best to portray the Siren. ~Lady B

UPDATED!!!! Alright, fellow pirates! Here's an event YOU DO NOT WANT TO MISS!!! Again... October 12-13 in Helmsburg, Indiana... the Jackson Township Fire Department will hold their annual Parade and Carnival. This year, they have an interesting tri-theme: Popcorn, Pirates and Fire Prevention. This festival coincides with National Fire Prevention Week. Again, they want Pirates for this event! As stated below, there will be allowed a Historical Encampment (free to participants). Fire Pits are allowed, too, so you can cook food. People experienced with flintlocks and cannons are desired. Demos possible, skits/interactions/battles most likely! Since it's Fire Prevention week, perhaps we pirates can come up with something that is related to fire prevention? There WILL be a Pirates vs Fire Fighters Tug-Of-War! So we need every available Pirate willing and able to yank a rope in Bristol fashion! Come on now, Mates! Step lively! Join this good cause! More details will be passed along to you here, on the Facebook page for the Pirates and Buccaneers of the Resurrection or even on our Website. Feel free to ask any questions and voice concerns but the Fire Department is working VERY hard to ensure that every comfort is available. ~Lady B

Any idea of when Put In Bay will be this year? ~Lady B

Ye be welcome, Gertie. :) Enjoy to th' fullest! I did receive m' Christmas booty well in advance of Christmas. And unlike tradition where I open it up on Christmas day, I opened it up right then and there. I got a few Pirates constructable cards and a grand necklace what looks like made of brass. Thank ye! I like! Though, darn near lost my pirate cards to my niece, she thought about commandering them. Hahaha, I had to hide the fleet. ROTDLMAO!!! OMG... QM James! I darn near choked to death from laughter over that comment!!! Drinkin' from, not shootin' up. LOL Good one! BTW, looking forward to 2012 Christmas Exchange now! ~Lady B

The wicked Lady Barbossa is recruiting able bodied sea men and women! Are you willing and able to attend events? Be active? Know a little or a lot of history and tell it to spectators? Show your trade be you a navigator or a simple deck hand? Do you want a crew that has plenty of events to attend? Ranks and stations offered. And who knows, perhaps a little compensation for yo'r troubles and travels! AYE! Sign Articles! with the Pirates and Buccaneers of the Resurrection. est. 2007 .... or in pirate era, in the Year of Our Lord, 1707. Definitely in need of some people willing to look like good pirates, as we are a historical fiction pirate crew, mixing historical reality and appearance with pirate lore, sea myths, and Hollywood legend. Already have been called and asked to attend events. Check out the website for more! Pirates and Buccaneers of the Resurrection ~Lady B

Was pretty good. Only thing I was disappointed with was the loss of Hook's hand. I would have thought it would be a bit more elaborated upon. ~Lady B

What? You don't want Blackbeard to return as a ghost, Mission? :) Ye know... I think they need a character on there based upon Mission. What ye lot think? :) ~Lady B

It's now 2012... and several places are saying PotC is possible but in the works. One site stated the title was PotC: Beyond the Seas World. Now... that title sounds just so unlike a PotC title. And too reflective of At World's End. The plot and supposed story sounded even worse with Will and Elizabeth returning which we all know that both Knightley and Bloom will not return for future films. I guess we shall see. I still am keeping watch for a Blackbeard's ghost possibility. Perhaps Will and Elizabeth's son jumping in on the story, too? I was told Depp wasn't so sure about taking on another PotC film as Jack and wanted to do another film with Angelina Jolie... well, I like our very own Black Syren's idea where if ever her character was played by anyone, it would be Angelina Jolie. Or maybe the return of Cruz to reprise her role as Angelica. Perhaps we will see someone portray one of Blackbeard's "Wives", Aldetha Stowcroft. Well... we shall see what goes. ~Lady B
