Sorry we'll miss you Emerald! We normally do the Council Bluffs faire but they've changed the weekends to overlap St. Louis Renaissance Festival. The new Omaha site sounds like an improvement though. We'll see you in KC or hopefully sooner. -Clay

Anyone have a good source for "apostles" or wooden powder measures similar to the ones below? Are they GAOP appropriate? I've seen GAOP pirate re-enactors wearing them but from what I can find they were used by Musketeers. I like the look & thought about adding them to my baldric.

Currently the upstairs of our shop is the roof of our tent, if you'd like to sleep up there that will be a sight to see

We'll be there vending again. The dates on the website are still from last year... If it falls on the same weekends, last year it was the last three weekends of September. Their Renaissance Festival starts on May 17th, I'll try to find out the dates of the Pirate Fest & will post here when I have more info.

Thanks for the link. I really liked their page on barrel uses. We had a huge barrel store in Missouri that I used to reccomend but they closed recently due to a fire. Barrels Of Fun. Glad to find another source.

Hey Lady Barbossa, Sounds like you want to make your own Barbossa hat but if you want to save yourself the trouble we make a pretty close replica. 6"+ brim, it is flat with just the slightest curve towards the front, not a dramatic curve like some of the other Barbossa hats out there. We use the same pictures you've posted to get all the right nicks & cuts (though if you watch closely you can see from the movies, Barbossa has a few different hats with different placement of nicks, cuts & slashes). I won't say ours is 100% exact but it's close. I knew the name sounded familiar, thanks to Mel Brooks then The storefront in your pictures is RenBoots' booth, I'm not sure if they were the one's in it during Pirate Fest but that is their booth during the Renaissance Festival. We're around the corner, sort of on the back side of that shop, back near the pirate ship stage. Say hello at the Renaissance Festival.

Welcome count de monet! (funny name by the way, all pirates like to "count de monet" ) Did you make it over to our area of the faire? I think I'd remember those shirts if I saw them, very cute! We were there hawking our wares at Pyrate Leatherworx & Arrbucks Coffees. Perhaps we'll see you this summer at the St. Louis Renaissance Festival on the same site.

Here are some 2 1/2" square or 3" round: Oconee Leatherworks OR I use Springfield Leather in Springfield, MO. They don't have any pictures online but they usually carry these 3" buckles for somewhere around $11.00

Fancy Flours has a really fun Pirate Cookie Cutter Set with a similar ship, anchor, pistol, and lots of other fun things. They also have a really nice Skull and Crossbones, nice and large, made of copper. For you mermaid lovers: The Mermaid Cookie Cutter. I own all of these & they're lots of fun!

Avaste Ye Online Comic No outstanding artwork, just some pirate stick figures, some of it is funny though. I received it in an email that said "New comics are posted every month. Zuda users decide which of those comic creators will be offered a paid, one-year contract to produce their work!"
