I guess this is more going Huh. ... than really venting.... just something I've wondered about... When I was a kid, my Grandparents lived in Reno, we would go visit them during the Rodeo Round up.... The whole city would get out their pointy toed cowboy boots, Cowboy hats, and play cowboy for the week... and I guess Cowboys need refrigerators and mattresses also, because all of the local merchants would jump on the band wagon, and tie their advertising in with the rodeo.... Key West has Fantasy Fest, and there is nothing wrong with naked Painted women....(welll... it's not exactly family friendly.....) But Pyrate Week should be a local Businessman's advertising fantasy come true.... Get alla th' tourist into a shopping frenzy.... "Wow... 10% off Key West Pyrate tee-shirts....." "Oh look... a Pyrate Punch Drink Special...... "Aargh, Visit Key West for Pyrate Week...." The advertising potential is there, I can't figure out why the local merchants don't use it...... Oh well...............

I hadda drive down to Santa Cruz yesterday, and as I was going through Campbell, (listening to Abney Park ) I looked up and there it was..... a Honest to goodness AIRSHIP ! For Real..... I know there is a Company outta the Bay Area that is offering Airship rides.... but it was really cool to actully see the thing flying......

Yay.... I hadda drive down to Santa Cruz yesterday, and I stopped and bought a new bottle of ink for my rapidograph.... so I can start inking the comix with my good pen once again...... The last few have been inked with fine line pens, one of them is great for shading, (Carol gave me a handfulla them, so they should last awhile...) but the lines are too thin for my normal inking, so they will now look even better...... Well the sharpie is running outta ink, but I can get a new one easily enough.....

OH yeah.... I used a mixture of 50-50 boiled linseed oil and bees wax... I melted the bees wax in a small cleaned out paint tin with a torch (Outside...) mixed in the linseed oil... then let it cool. I rubbed a little bit onto the stock and worked it in with the heel of my hand.... then let it completely dry/harden, then repeat every so often.... I also touch up the finish after cleaning it, jut use just a dab of the mixture, so it only has a very thin layer (I also work some into all of the pin holes so moisture cant get into the stock that way....

Did you get the brass barrel or the steal barrel? On my Buss (I got it from callenish gunner) I scrapped off the finish, and restrained the stock, I ground off the muzzle ring (I liked it, but because everyone's buss has the muzzle ring, they look the same... kinda like they were all Government issue...) I then sanded the bright shinny finish off....that mirror finish just looks too modern to my eye... Well then I added a sling swivel and stud, and carved my initials into the stock.....

The year before last, I wanted to ship my blunderbuss to PiP using UPS... If all the parts were in the package, it was a gun.... And I'd have to ship it overnight.... (so it cost too much .....) I take the lock off it when I pack it to fly (In checked baggage...), and when TSA checks it, they have no idea what they are looking at... just sign the "It's Unloaded" form, and not too much of a hustle......

I always figured that B. D. Cooper was trained by the Military.... Hijack an airplane, and then do a HALO jump ter get away.... Just usin' wot Military trainin' he had.............

I just hope if they do go rainbow, they have someone that understand basic Physics, and doesn't forget the indigo like all the gays do.... (look at the Gay flag.... it's missing indigo....) The spectrum is Roy G. Biv... Red Orange Yellow Green Blue Indigo and Violet..... Oops... that was insensitive of me.... we gotta be PC, so we can no longer use indigo ...
