  1. I like your wide belt Julus. Did you make it or buy it? Your replica flints are nice also.
  2. I shall hit Bristol Faire August 5th with a couple of salty dogs! Flag me down and say "Hello" if you are at the Faire!
  3. I have a rough start time of 10 PM. Should be at or near the rotunda with a childrens realm neaer Sears.

    Gully

Was a "gully" just any old knife or one with a folding blade?
  5. I like it! It looks very fun and useful for carrying about your arsenal!
  6. The version I rented at Blockbuster was the edited "R" version. I found it fun but I do agree, lots of fake boobs and blond strippers. Jesse Jayne was not my idea image of a pirate woman. Too much eye make up.
  7. A couple of times it looked like they hired festies or pirates of our style to be extras.
  8. I knew we would see a run of pirate related movies in the wake of POTC2. Was I surprised to find this little gem. Pirates is a movie made by some person who goes by the name "Joone" and is listed as a photographer and film maker. Most of the featured women of the movie have the look of the adult industry about them. I found the movie kinda funny and the effects weren't bad. If you have a bunch of adult friends in port and want something fun to go with the rum and aren't looking for "art"this movie might do the trick.
  9. I had the man himself sign 2006 for me when I bought it at PiP. I think I will frame the art when the year is up! Good stuff! Can't wait to see 2007.
  10. I just feel like I have more questions and a long wait...
  11. Milwaukee has a very nice musem andsome great book stores. Try Half Price Books if you get a chance, 3 locations to serve you better. And don't forget Bristol Faire is just 30 minutes south!
  12. A fellow crewman took a gander at the ship a weekend back and said you can indeed board the Drednought for $5.00
  13. Details are few and far between right now but the Mall of America in Minneapolis MN is hosting a promo party for the Minnesota Ren Festival. The Date is Saturday July 22. The Pyrates of Portobello will be doing our musical thang at some point. More details will follow...
  14. I can only hope that they will include the deleted scenes on the DVD. I found the deleted bits from POTC 1 very nice and helped create even more depth (my fave was when Elizabeth asks Jack if the rumors are true and he shows her his scars, rather dark but very effective). Glad the 3rd movie will answer these questions and more. Now for a question from my wife who wants to know if Jack's ears are pierced (I think Johny Depps are)?

Check out the Book of Kells at Trinity U if you get the chance. Very nice!
  16. Okay, I saw POTC 2 and had good time but there was A LOT OF STUFF GOING ON IN THAT MOVIE. I fear I've missed a few things. If you have ideas or answers on these topics let me hear you. And if you worked on the movie I'd love to hear your insights. First, what/ was that creepy place from which Jack escaped via the coffin? Oddly, why are they throwing coffins in the ocean instead of just wrapping the dead in a section of bed linen with a big rock to sink them? I assmused that Jack was moving toward the goal of deadmans chest before he was visited by Bootstrap. What do you think? Monkey steals coin at the end of POTC and monkey is now undead. Where is the coin? Weasel-like offical of the East India Trade Company has power over Port Royal how? And I understand he was the man who branded Jack but what did Jack do to him? What happens to Davy Jones' crew when they finish serving time aboard the Flying Dutchman? Maybe no one has ever lived to tell the tale. Jack stole a ring from Tia Dalma and is wearing it opn his thumb correct? And it resembles the music box that Davey Jones has? Will sees Jack and Elizabeth kiss and yet does nothing when she gets in the boat. Is this resolved, I think no since he didn't seem to eager at Tia Dalma's vodoo lair? Let hear your ideas...
  17. Way to go Hurricane! Where is the honeymoon?
  18. Oddly my trips to Europe have not altered the desire for my blood (and I go about once a year).
  19. Has anyone heard if the ship (Dreadnought) is a stage for only the cast or can patrons (and visiting preformers) take a tour?
  20. My Lady's Cutlass back on the bill! Fantastic! I am a bit surprised since but pleasantly so!
  21. Perhaps a bit stoopid BUT... I rather liked the idea of the blood mobile at PiP last year. I donated and felt pretty good about it. Got to talk with Don Maitz while donating blood. Great guy that Don! Pirates are tough after all!
  22. Hawkyns has and abundance of "She-pirates" in his abode. Anyone else notice this?
  23. The MRF management can be a wee bit up tight. I suppose they might worry about a patron passing out during the parade run. I don't think it would be a problem but since they have issued my "Letter of Marque" I best remaind on the boss's good side.
  24. Must be good if Iron Bess has seen it twice.
  25. I knew it was going to be bad, the level of horro just made it almost unwatchable.
