  1. Now what I heard of flip was a blend of beer, RUM, and sugar. Into this mix was thrust a red hot poker to froth the beverage. How would one heat said beverage without a red hot poker I wonder?

  2. I seem to recall seeing a depiction of a group of slaves chained together and tethered to a heavy object forced over the side of a ship. The slaves were alive at the time. The reason behind this cruel event I do not remember.

  3. During my recent trip to the Dominican Republic I was offered a local drink called "Mama Juana". Gave it a try and found it quiet nice. I guess it has origins back with the native Tanio who made a tea from herbs and tree bark. The Europeans introduced the idea of adding rum, red wine and honey. The locals claim this drink is helpful for lovers. I thought it had a taste similar to Port.

  4. For modern pirates of a more fantastic nature I seem to recall a fellow who sold hand hooks that you could strap on your limb to give the appearance of having a hook. These items looked super cool but I have heard of faires and events that don't allow them.

  5. Don't be shy my pirate friends. This is not a facebook game like Mafia Wars or Farmville. Rather it is a series of short stories where you determine how a tale ends. I start a mini adventure ("You are trapped in the Four Turns tavern in Port Royal by the rival crew of Juan "The Snake" Gomez! What do you do?"). I include a graphic and you simply comment on how you'd handle the situation. You can be funny, serious, or even post that you think that my tales stink!

Who knows it might amuse you...
