  16. I will be posting my COMP121 essay through its stages updating this post with the current version of the essay. If you would like to make constructive criticism be it pirate factual, grammatical, or something just doesn't make sense. Feel free to post it here. Opening Paragraph Including Thesis “Fifteen men on a dead man’s chest, Yo-ho-ho and a bottle of rum.” This sea shanty will make most people have the image of the Hollywood pirate in their head. The Hollywood image, unfortunately, contains a lot of untruths about the life aboard a pirate ship. We see pirates to be unruly white men following no rules, living a life for themselves, and throwing caution to the wind. When, on the contrary, life aboard a pirate ship can also be the vision of a true democracy, with remarkable detail spent planning their strikes. Tab of which posts I addressed in the report so far. Edited per Phillip Blacks 1st suggestion. Comment: Addressed the maneuver understanding issue. Tried to bring in your other suggestion but couldn't find a way to make it sound right, without sounding too harsh against my own point.
  17. Oh boy i think i would just start laughing if i saw that but credit will go to you because i have seen the star wars ewoky thing walking around so i guess wwii fits right in Weirdest thing i saw was this tall skinny white guy in gothic trench coat attempt to be knighty like thing with leather doublet, armour, bracers, broadsword etc all gothic spikey like with some short rather large hispanic girl in jeans, leather knee high fold top boots, a leather corset that wasn't on correctly, a dagger, and some weird rounded hat with a feather.... I wasn't quite sure what was going on...
  18. Aye, me haven't seen very many except the ones in the You In Your Garb post and the Frappr thing and a very few profiles but even so im going to vote with for the pyracy community. because anyone who enjoys and dresses up like pirates is most likely an amazing person.
  19. Nice collection. I just sold of my american strat in a limited edition purple/maroon color. I miss her but I started with the dulcimer and it just sat there. I kept my cheapy basic fender guitar though with all my stuff for if i ever felt the urge :)
  20. So that's why my marriages failed. No wonder their eyes would roll up in the back of their head. -- Hurricane News flash, eh? I know i know, i was just getting frustrated because everyone was saying that it wont work but no one was really giving me a good suggestion. Telling me it wont work without helping me figure out how to put it doesn't really accomplish anything. I apologize for my outburst, hope its accepted
  21. What do you think would be best phillip? for the topic that is Revised intro: “Fifteen men on a dead man’s chest, Yo-ho-ho and a bottle of rum. Drink and the devil had done for the rest, Yo-ho-ho and a bottle of rum.” This excerpt from a popular sea shanty puts the image that Hollywood produces of pirates into our mind. Unfortunately, the view of pirates that we are given through Hollywood and the media contains a large array of untruths. The view of pirates created by the media generally consists of unruly group of white men who are killing people and raping women for the pure pleasure of it. This, surprisingly enough, is a very careless assumption that is made about pirates who lived and sailed in the Golden Age of Piracy. Lately pirates have been showing up in Hollywood more and more, from Disney’s fantasy entertainment movie “The Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl” to the more realistic “Master in Commander.” These movies are great for entertainment value but also contain a lot of fraudulent information about the life of a pirate. This is the beginning of the revised essay. Do you feel that this is a better approach?
