Congrats to Black Skot for winning 1st place Pirate and his wife Cinda for getting 2nd place wench. Meself, I won 1st place in the Cutthroat division. Lots of booty was won by all of us as well as bar tabs and several bottles of Rum. What more can ye ask for? Key West Pirate

During the peaceful and TOTALLY INNOCENT boat parade to celebrate Conch Republic Independence day, the conch republic navy lead by the Schooner 'Wolf' we were once again attacked by the evil US Border patrol. I am pleased to let everyone know that we did not take this without fighting back! With stale cuban bread, tomatos and water hoses, and back up from the conch republic army onshore and the airforce overhead (400 rolls of toilet paper were thrown to their deaths in defence of our Island nation, bombs away!) we drove the Coast Guard cutter back to port with TP in their riggings. That evening the Coasties were brought to the Schooner Wharf in chains and gracefully surrendered to Admiral Finbar and Admiral Perkins. We then proceeded to corrupt them and get them drunk. As a side note, even tho the Schooner Appledore took the easy way out and (i'm not kidding) wrapped plastic wrap of some kind around her sails, she was once again trounced by the Wolf's crew and the crew of the Western Union after the Coasties left. I was born and raised in Ohio, after collage I moved to eastern North Carolina, after being hit by 6 hurricanes in 5 years I moved to Key West, and I'm loving every minute of it! Key West Pirate

The first movie I ever recorded off of TV was a 80's movie with Christopher Atkin and Kristi McNichol in 'The Pirate Movie'. I collect what most people think of as really bad movies (The pride of my collection is the Bee Gees and Peter Frampton in Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band on DVD - awful movie, I love it) I have been looking for The pirate movie on DVD (i'll settle for tape if I have to) but all I can find online are overseas DVDs which won't work on my DVD player. actually, it's the fort down by Mallory Square and the Green Parrot...very convenient to my way of thinking. We will have the area from the beach concessions around the point and the entire parade area. It's a large amount of space, and hopefully we will be having some Pirate feasts there. We are also looking at anchoring the 'Wolf' and several other ships right off shore at the fort, maybe a couple of other things going on there to. The Goonies was such a great movie. My generation as well. I watch it when I need a retro fix. The DVD has a couple of cute extras as too, like the video from Cindi Lauper that has all the old WWF wrestlers that I watched when I was 11 or so. It's a great piratey feeling movie. Key West Pirate

I be the Lady Marilee Turned to piracy after life on the mainland treated me badly. So now I'm in Key West enjoying the sand, sun, rum and ... did i mention the rum? I don't believe we have met, although Hurricane and the gang stayed at the Hotel I work at last year for PIP, since I had to work I wasn't able to enjoy any of the events except the POTC dvd release...where I won a free dvd for drinking grog This year I've taken the week off so I can help Julie and enjoy myself. I've always been a child of the sea, but Ohio is more famous for flaming rivers than beautiful beachs. I moved to Washington NC to be closer to the outer banks and the ocean, and i lived not many miles from where Blackbeard made port at historic Bath. After one two many hurricanes I moved to Key West where the the water is blue, the rum is cold and i can dress up like a pirate for at least 3 events a year in town and not turn any heads. I'm working with Julie and Pirates in Paradise now, So It looks like getting more attached (or obsessed according to my fellow workers in that terrible place called reality) to the whole lifestyle. I think the first movie that drew me into the fold was The Pirate Movie, since it included pirates, really bad humor, and pirates bursting into song. And I loved the Pirate King. The Schooner 'Wolf' had a pirate escapade for the cameras of the travel channel yesterday, and I'd like to be raising me tankard to all the fine folks who went out a mauradin' (especially to Spyder or whoever brought that wonderful bottle of rum!) We had a great time, and the show should be out in Oct. or Nov. right before Pirates in Paradise! Key West Pirate

how far down the keys be ye coming? Towards Key West Boyd's campground is not too bad, or if you are military or retired military you can stay on base for a pretty reasonable fee i be told...Schooner Wharf is a great place with a piratey kind of feel to it. It's right on the waterfront and they won't be taking too much of yer swag. (Anyplace in Key West is going to be expensive) The green parrot is a good hangout, and Capt. Tonys has a good pirate punch for about $6, and you get a nice cup to take home. Going out for a snorkel or sunset sail is a great idea, and so is going to mallory square for the sunset celebration. I don't know too much about the upper keys (I don't get off island much) but if you want to email me i'll be happy to find out what you'd like to know.
