  1. Historic Bath is on the eastern coast of north carolina on the pamlico sound. (The closest towns would be Washington NC, or if your looking for a bigger city Greenville, NC) It was the first capital of north carolina i believe, but i might be wrong on that. It's a small town but rich in history. Blackbeard use to live there, so there is a great pirate connection. I use to live outside of Bath, but after 6 hurricanes in 5 years, i decided to move to key west. Deadly Aim Key West Pirate
  2. Just thought I would let everyone know that in my ramblings around town this weekend I stopped by the building for the Pirate Soul museum. They are doing some construction, but I was able to get some pics of the building and the new banners that have been hung there. Here's hoping it's open for PIP! To see the pictures go here: http://www.geocities.com/divegrlkw2003/pics1.html Deadly Aim Key West Pirate
  3. I was watching the DVD of the muppets with John Cleese as the special guest star and they do a pirate skit. Extremely Funny. If you get a chance, it's a great DVD of some of the old Muppet shows. 'Pirates don't use intercoms....might be sissy' Deadly Aim Key West Pirate
  4. Wow. I just have to say that you guys are amazing. I'm just starting work on a pirate coat, but it's been a several years since I've done any sewing. I have also discovered that Key West has the WORST fabric stores in the world, and it's 150 miles to a decent one. I'm working on a road trip. Anyway keep up the thread, i love reading the tips and stuff! Deadly Aim Key West Pirate

  9. Hurricane, If you an Diosa start feeling a bit tipsy some night, it will be because I'm toasting you. A lot. I have now gone thru 2 bottles of rum and one of vodka. And I have made it to work every day. When are you guys heading back down the keys? I miss ye! On a side note I am very proud that I sat down last night after many drunken trys and was able to learn to tie a monkey fist knot. Thank you everyone for the B-day thoughts! 10. Ok, this is just a question I thought of after an evening at home with me rum watching those lovely gents from POTC. If Wills dad was cursed when he was sent to the depths by Barbossa, It wouldn't really have done anything to him, would it? I mean he would have just gone to the bottom, taken off his shoes or something and still been alive, because of the curse...or is my thinking kinda off here? The only time he should have been able to die is after the curse is broken. So Will's dad should still be alive. OK....too much thinking in circles...head is starting to spin...need more rum.... 17. oops. sorry. got interupted in the middle of a thought...they brought us all ice cream and i was distracted. the sentence that cuts off in the middle should end with they have an impressive set. It's a round theater with a pirate ship in and water in the middle Key West Pirate
  18. I was also able to go to the theater last month, and was able to talk to the manager and ask a couple of questions. The manager is just that. A manager in the entertainment industry and the actors are there because they are paid,so don't expect to be able to talk to them about pirates. The food was good, and the show is pretty entertaining (I was also able to see Arabian Nights while I was in Orlando, and very impressed with that show.) the theater is pretty impressive and . Working with Pirates in Paradise and just from being in here I am use to a bit more historical accuracy, but it is a fun show to see. I spent most of my time talking to the guy who owns the gift shop, who is very nice and a lot of fun. They had some good t-shirts, some nice knives and swords, and better prices than i can find in key west. If you are looking for an entertaining evening out, it is fun. Have a good time in Orlando! Key West Pirate

  25. This is just to let everyone know that there is a special rate for members of the Piracy Pub for Pirates in Paradise at the Southernmost Hotel and Southernmost on the Beach. You have to book online and your stay must be between 11/28 and 12/5. The discount is $10 off per night and the location is on Duval St., so everything is pretty much within walking distance. Just go to the website and use the promo code 'pirate' to see what rooms are available at what rate. Please make sure any pop up blockers are disabled when you are on this site, as the confirmation screen is a pop up. If you are going to be staying for the first weekend or beyond the 5th of December, you can't book online and get the discount, but if you call the hotel reservations line and ask for Amy, you can still get the discount on the dates that it is valid. Don't bother to ask any of the other reservationists for the discount, because they don't know anything about it. The website is www.southernmostresorts.com Key West Pirate
