"Aha!..'Tis still here, by Neptune's Trident!!..Under 'pirate tattoos' 'ere in Rabble Rousing..... :) "An' as far as 'nautical stars', the wench in mine was quite a star!"
-
There's a humongus thread about tattos here already.. Search, and ye shall find!..(actually, I just searched, and it seems as tho the thread is gine!)
-
For 'Bob'? Color me ignorant...what's that mean? For the 'Spongebob Squarepants pirate movie coming up.. This guy is negotiating for the Royaliste. Spongbob's producer is buying his next script, so the leeverage is there if the opportunity presents itself....
-
Hmm, 'Photoshop' out the sloop 'n the bridge!!...An' I wuz told last week that the Ship hadn't been selected yet for 'Bob'...

RRRRR!!!!....Bloody Pirates!!!.......... 'Lucky Penny' Hawkings doin' wot she luvs, eh? But a fine way to spend one's Birthday!!
-
Hmm, unless ye are lookin' fer a wall-hanger, Ye'd best steer for functional replicas, as with edged weapons, originals are a bit 'historical' to be firin' and such.. Many manufacturers and suppliers, in the 150.00 to 400.00 range, plus accessories....

Hmm, Tallships Great Lakes 2003 will not repeat in 2004..It works like this..Odd years, East Coast and Great Lakes..Even years, West Coast..So, Next Great Lakes is 2005, A.S.T.A.(American Sail Training Ass'n) Sponsors the events. :)

Hmm, readin' between the lines...Yep, the Chieftain's twin Volvo's will definitely make her go fast..Only needs her mainmast to hold up the stack.....Square-riggers never have too much wind to hoist sails(not sheets, as sheets are ropes that control sails)..so, someone had other priorities, or misinformation, as they brag heavily on their website about how much wind her rig will take.....One more boom...Yeozah!..you'd think gunpowder was made 'o gold, considerin' the price per head on the sea battles, versus the cost per pound 'o powder..Someone take a picture for me whenever either one of them fire over five or six rounds... I do wholeheartedly agree that the left coast is the place to be for naval sea battles on a regular basis, excluding long-time regional reenactments...

Well, we outdid ourselves two weekends ina row!!..a fine birthday party and 'kidnapping', indeed!!...Seems as though all did have a 'blast', 'locks, cannons, swordplay, an' plenty 'o hands in the riggin'!!...Maybe some pic's later, as they came out just fine, perhaps some'll find their way here!..RRR!!..A pirates life for we!!
-
"Hmm, ain't sayin' that at all!!!..But when it comes to a fight, e'en a big 'n with no cannon be easy pickins'!! :) (although factually, a lot of Pacific pirate attacks were turned around by the intensity of the small arms fire). 'Size'--mebbee, at least a minimum 'Overall performance'--everything!
-
Hmm, pretty durn close, 'Quill, 'cept'n that'd be an aft spring line, not the stern line...It's more relevant to how well armed your prize is, not so much your size.. Pacific Manila Galleons weren't even carryin' cannon for a hundred years or so!!..Same wif' Acapulco, 'n other New Spain holdings..So, even a small well armed ship could whip bloody 'eck outta the treasure ships!
-
"Bloody 'eck!!..We'll tackle 'em all sizes!!! The Nippon Maru, over 110 meters o.a.!
-
I be fine wif' the one I 'ave!!..Outsails most brigs an' schooners, will sail to windward o.k., an' outguns most her size due to a lack 'o gunport doors.......At seventy some feet, I kin manage her in most weather, an' sail in an' out 'o line warfare....... :)

Her original construction as a yacht, no. Her rebirth, refit, redecking and planking as an 18th century vessel, yes.Plenty of 'tree-nails'(the origin of the phrase 'trunnel') All refit plank are rough hewn, all carvings and signage hand-chiseled, alloperating parts lashed, not bolted. Her sweeps are hand hewn, 18 foot of white cedar from an original Royal Navy Spar treestand in Quebec. "Welcome to piracy, mate!"

Anas long as they don't check me diesel, I'll continue to impersonate a 1755-1790 gunship!
-
Ahoy and Avast!! 'ere's to ye on yer birthday, Mate!....*Rolls hogshead from deck to the gangplank, an' on to the dock*
-
:) Hmm, Britt puts a new wrinkle in everything!!..But, I could do both, depending..I'd like to talk to Dick, as he mentioned slippage...In Sept, we can do 'up and down' the coast....after late Oct...sketchy....
-
*Takes another swig, starts chuckin' on guitar* "Chukka-chukka-chukka-chang- you put the lime inna...."
-
Aye!The fife really added to the cannon fire!!..Attaboy, matey!
-
Tis one 'o me reasons for the timing!!..Would be swell for Ojai nights!!....

-
:) "Hmmm, dunno 'bout any 'o the rest 'o ye, but it was a grand day sailin' on the Bay!...We ducked outside the 'Gate, watched a dolphin or two, caught some wind, headed back inside, sailed past the Cityfront , fired a round or two at the St. Francis Yacht Club, sailed to the lee of Angel Island, ate a good lunch, 'discovered the ship 'Kau'ilani , fired the larb'd main gun, she came about, an' we fired two from starb'd, they needed some Grey Poupon, we obliged, sailed down Raccoon Strait,..found the schooner Aldebaron, got the drop on 'em, an' a good time seemed to be had by all!!!..Temps in the 40's-50, an' clear as a bell!!...More to follow, between the rains!....('twass such a fine day, we forgot to take any pic's!)
-
Also, thar be a fella name of 'John', wot is a friend 'o one of the others, he emailed me, anyhoo!...Lookin' fine, as long as ye be layered... New Years was good, Crow..Only a little rain on the fireworks..The cannon fire was awesome at midnite......
-

A short footnote..Not relevant to age, but English vessels had horses(footropes), French vessels did not..
