Please remember that the Actors schedules may change and they may not be able to come at the last minute but... as of now we have even more Pirates from the film coming out to help with the event. Come out and meet your favorites.

There will be several bands on the stages including the Doxie Chix, Pirates of the Black Swan and so many others! Music from 12 Noon until 8PM.

There will be a silent Auction including signed DVD's of the Pirates films by Ted and Terry and also a signed *Cast gift* that was given only to cast members. Custom leather works by Barbossa Leathers (you all know how high tone THAT stuff is!) and much, much more.

Lots to see and do so come out if tou can and enjoy the day and evening for this worthy cause.

    See ya soon mates!

  2. Anything with Gary Oldman is worth watching...

And how come this isn't in Pirate Pop??? :D

Bess, I would soooo agree with you, had I never seen the "Lost in Space" remake... :D Even a stellar actor like Oldman couldn't make a good impression with that script....

But on a more positive note, I do so love "Immortal Beloved", it is probably Oldman at his absolute best acting wise. Although I still like the overall move "Leon: The Professional" better....

    Agreed.

He is simply a joy to watch whatever he is portraying.

  3. Hmmm how come there is no 60 to us and 40 to the partner... and so on down? Are we to just assume that the partner is better qualified and more deserving?

Well, I made an assumption - one based on the results of the actual experiments.

But let me phrase it as a question to you:

If you were the person who was charged with offering the split, would you offer 60% of the total to another, unknown and unseen person and be willing to accept 40% if they agreed to accept your offer? (On the plus side, I imagine they would almost surely accept.)

    Nope.

Actually... I suppose it would depend on what I knew for a fact they were going to contribute.....

  4. I shan't watch this again becuase the main Union character is carrying an out of period trapdoor rifle.

The segway was spot on though. Most people don't understand that the segway was introduced in May of 1863 by the Union Army. It provided a brief moment of surprise but this moment was lost after discovery that nobody had invented a way to recharge the batteries in the field. The largest failing of the segway and its ultimate demise was during the Battle of Chancellorsville when after maneuvering to a brilliant position the heavy brush rapidly depleted the batteries. Even though that flank of the Union Army was in a position to deliver a killing blow against Stonewall Jackson's troops the segway's being out of power stopped the advanced. When American troops retired screaming "We need more Segways" there was a complete misunderstanding what they were saying as that Union Corps only spoke German. Thinking they were yelling the flank had collapsed the rest of the Union Army retired, there-by losing the battle. From that moment on segways were not used and German troops were seen as unreliable and given the nickname of the Dirty Dutch.

  5. Even tho I have an annual pass I haven't gone in awhile, it's been really crowded lately. It's only going to get worse for Memorial Day weekend, ugh!

The shirts are for sale in both stores. Pieces of Eight has more kid size versions and the other has adult sizes. I almost fell over when I saw them when we walked through.

Yeah.... no one in their right mind goes on the Memorial or Labor day weekends. Those and the July 4th Holiday are the busiest days at the Park it seems.

  6. Of course if you mention it to her she will tell you that she's petite (German Shepherds tend to talk a lot!)

DO they EVER!! Phoebe is always telling me about her day when I get home. She talks all the time. :(

And she is a chatter box even when we go out to Disneyland, even with all those distractions around.

When we sit down or are waiting in a line she mutters what seems to be like under her breath while looking around or right up at me. People just LOL! And say they agree with her.

GSD ARE quite the talkers alright. But I've never had one that talks as much as she does.

Wait until Ojai Ransom... she'll bend yer ear. :(

On another side note...When did Mickey and Minnie get married??!

Wayne and Russi had been married for 20 years.

One of the cute stories we have about them was about 10 years ago, they both came up to our office to pick up their Silver Passes for Disneyland.

We had only met once before some years before and it was late and they just stood there with their huge smiles on their faces… and we had no idea who they were. It’s not like they were wearing Mickey ears or anything.

We chatted a bit and then said *I am so sorry… can you tell me again what Dept you are with?* Wayne chuckled and said in his BEST Mickey voice “Maybe this will help you!”

We stayed in touch and were good friends ever since.

It’s going to be terribly sad without the two of them together now. Mickey and Minnie… so secretly married all those years. (sigh)

  8. There are some things and some people that you think will just always be there in your life, when they leave you must embrace them and follow a little later. gonna be hard to watch Minnie and Micky, but the story behind therm must endure.

Well, there will of course always be a Mickey…

Wayne has a protégé’, ready to step up and take over just as Wayne himself did back in 1977 from Jimmy who had taken over from Walt himself.

Still… hard to think of Minnie as a widow.

  9. We lost a true life Disney legend yesterday....

Wayne Allwine, the voice of Mickey Mouse for over 30 years died Monday afternoon. He was only 62 years old.

He was the sweetest, nicest, most gentle guy and you could ever know and WHAT a sense of humor!

And the best part of the story... Wayne was married over 20 years to Russi Taylor, the voice of Minnie Mouse.

Some people that you know… just cannot be replaced.

You have no idea what even the mere suggestion of a female bossom does to a male psyche.

    HA!!!!

    Say's you! :P

(They be two of me favorite weapons!)

  11. Here be me new Seahorse knife...

The texture of the grip is like a fine sandpaper. It feels right nice in m'hand.

    SeahorseKnife3.jpg

It nestles right on my Barbossa Baldric and held in place with 3 screws....

    SeahorseKnife1.jpg

The custom Scabbard was made by Barbossa Leathers. The hand carved mermaid and the cutaway flap shows off the knife *tail* but hold the knife very securely in place.

    SeahorseKnife2.jpg

The blade itself is far from Period but (shrug) since most will never see the blade (except at the dinner table...) I'm not worried about it.

    SeahorseKnife6.jpg

A happy addition fer me says I!

  12. I suppose we will now have a Phoebe autograph booth at Ojai, where she will graciously put paw to shirt for a small donation to her favorite charity? Kewl! :P

    (chuckle)

    I like it. ;)

She'll only be coming up one day though, Sunday AND... that depends on how hot it might be then.

Line forms to the right! Woof!
