winks back My pleasure. Maybe we can badger someone into singing a nice ballad or the like . . . I'd volunteer, but I think the screeching of the squashed monkey would sound better!
-
Wait, what did I just step on looks under foot to see squashed monkey Ooops . . . no one saw that . . . wasn't me starts whistling innocently then goes back to dancing C'mon Merrydeath - join in the fun!

I haven't danced this hard in years! Grog -somebody - get me some grog! What was that you were saying Crimson, about not being young. I don't think the young have too much of an edge downs a pint in a single go after shortly pausing from the dance . . . ahh, that's better! Where was I? Oh yes - can you keep up to this piper-boy? feet start flying back in the direction of Crimson Do y'know "Three Young Ladies Drinking Whiskey Before Breakfst" - it's my favourite reel?

Need "kid friendly" pirate movie
Tudor MercWench Smith replied to Black Hearted Pearl's topic in Pyrate Pop
okay - my confusion has passed - Zimmer was the producer! Okay! No problem! Still explains why Muppet Tresure Island sounds exactly like POTC and why POTC sounds like the "Gladiator" Soundtrack. They are all related to zimmer! -

Muppet Tresure Island is a hoot -still makes me laugh my arse off! And, just an observation, but the soundtrack is done by the same guy who did the POTC soundtrack. Errol Flynn is good, but might be harder to follow for the wee littlies . . . -

Tudor MercWench Smith replied to Tudor MercWench Smith's topic in Captain Twill
Well, 1705 seems to be the winner -perfect timing for the War of the Grand Alliance. All sorts of places to go with that . . . and over just in time to get to the carribean by 1705. Ta again! -

A year in the Golden Age of piracy
Tudor MercWench Smith replied to Tudor MercWench Smith's topic in Captain Twill
Thanks guys! Your suggestions give me some starting points. I'm still not 100% decided yet, due only to the fact that I have to do some research on events around the year, so I can lead up to it properly Anyway . . . ta very much -
make no diffrence to me, being *cough*underage*cough* - just means less people to hit up for a drink . . .
-
Okay - imagination doing scary things now. To save us all from being pelted by angry monkies . . . takes long chug . . . start up the band, this dance is on me!
-
Ewww, pissed off monkeys . . . scary sight that . . . but plenty of fun if the juggler drops them!

I'll be the one dressed as a pirate

Hello all! Just a matter of indesicion here that maybe you all can help with. A book i'm working on writing right now needs some timeline reconstruction, and I need to pick a year in the golden age of piracy. I'm thinking of the years a la Pirates of the Carribean, but that seemed rather non-committal on the exact year. What I really need is an exact year during the Golden Age of Piracy, closer to the end of the middle, just so I can get all the historical details correct, y'know, like royalty, wars, countries borders and the like.
-
Well, I can dance, but only if i got someone who knows a step or two to dance with me. Any volunteers? . . . if not, I'll just take a bowl of gumbo, some more booze and a corner table where i can lurk ominously and make everyone think I have a hit out on them.
-
the pics are nice, but a littel too . . . i dunno - flowery I suppose. Anyway,, I'd do something more along the lines of a captain's cabin (A la the cabin of the Black Pearl. Just watch the movie for pictures) Hang cutlasses on the walls, chests of gold loitering about, treasure maps lying around, that sort of thing. . . . Dang, now you have me wanting to redo my room.
