  1. Pyrate Phil (et al) Ye respond to only the word in the last posting before ye (unless it befuddles ye so much, as it did me, that ye can't respond, so then ye pass). Am I not correct, Merrydeath?
  2. Good lord, what an unopportune time fer Captain Ciaran (of all people!) to come into this game. I'll pass for now, so the Red Oktober's word remains in play: --Boddice--
  3. (opening cloth bag to count crowns) I have never been to PiP, but everything I've heard here and from mateys makes me want to go. So, I best be savin' some of me coins and not drinkin' 'em all up! I agree wit Rumba Rue about the expense. I know it is High Season at that time, but do places of accomodation in Key West offer discounts to PiP festival goers?
  4. Captain Grey, How wonderful that ye and yer sprog dress fer the HP movies! I trust, too, that ye carry along lots of chocolates. As Prof. Lupin always points out, it'll make ye feel better (especially if'n there be Dementors close at hand). Salute, Captain Ciaran
  5. Yes, Fancy, Chocolat is a great movie, so magically delicious. It was sorta the first hint (to my knowledge) of Johnny Depp leaning toward piracy. Thanks, Mission, for mentioning Amelie. That, too, was a wonderful off-beat film. I'll bet La Melfoucon knows of that one, oui? Ciaran
  6. I so rarely go to movies, or even rent them, but there are a few that stand out as favorites I've seen: 1) All the Harry Potter movies 2) Out of Africa 3) Steel Magnolias 4) Chocolat 5) Close Encounters of the Third Kind 6) Clue 7) Out on a Limb 8) Come Back to the Five and Dime, Jimmy Dean, Jimmy Dean 9) Ruthless People, and Outrageous Fortune (I love Bette Midler) 10) Rocky Horror Picture Show (let's do the time warp again!) 11) Priscilla Queen of the Desert (I had to include one queer movie!) And numerous old b&w films from the 20s and 30s, especially with Mae West, Greta Garbo, Boris Karloff, Bela Lugosi, etc. I shall restrain myself from mentioning favorite porn flicks!!!
  7. Ahoy Bilgemonkey. I have been to Key West once about 6 years ago. I remember seeing many teenagers, as well as families there. As Monsieur Hurricane mentioned the cemetary there is really awesome especially the monument to the USS Maine victims (Spanish-American War). If me memory serves correctly, there is one of those god-awful Ripley's Believe-it-or-not museums, which always appeals to "that age" group, as well as lots of cool gift shops, bars, restaurants, museums, a vintage aquarium, the fabulous sunsets, scuba diving and boating tours. And, don't forget to visit Jimmy Buffett's store! The drive through the keys on US 1 (Overseas Highway) is spectacular in itself. Ye must also be pre-warned (if ye have never been to Key West), that it is one of the gay community's Crown Jewels, so be prepared to see some outrageous sights! Just be open-minded to these things, if ye and yer family visit the island. It truly is a great vacation spot. I highly recommend it to anyone. :) Captain Ciaran
