  2. Man dressed as Depp's Jack Sparrow pepper-sprayed LOS ANGELES (AP) — Police say several people dressed as movie characters on Hollywood Boulevard got into a brawl that ended with a man dressed as "Pirates of the Caribbean" character Capt. Jack Sparrow being pepper-sprayed. Officer Rosario Herrera says it's unclear why the Sparrow character, made famous in the movies by Johnny Depp, got into a fight with people dressed as Catwoman and an alien in front of the Kodak Theatre Thursday evening. Officers responded to a call that there was a disturbance on the stretch of Hollywood Boulevard known to host costumed characters who hustle tourists for a few bucks in exchange for a photo with a celebrity lookalike. Sparrow was treated for minor injuries. No arrests have been made. Reference: http://news.yahoo.com/man-dressed-depps-jack-sparrow-pepper-sprayed-053710717.html

  11. Of course this is meant in good fun Commodore. (Read "For entertainment purposes only.") We'd never openly encourage the delinquency of a minor on the forum would we Mister Hook?

  13. Happy BDay Mister Munky. (Your rum reviews were most helpful to us this past summer.)
  14. Mission/Foxe - Thanks for input. We agree with the summarization disconnecting the Jolly Rogers from "Rogering". (Actually, we just interjected that bit out of curiosity to see what sort of responses we'd get.) However, the missus and I did discuss this and we both came to the same conclusion. That is, that even the threat of a "jolly rogering" by just a handful of pyracy.com users/moderators would be enough to instill terror in the average soul whether any flag was present or not. Jas - (Apologies if the subject strayed from the topic at hand. You know threads just take on a life of their own sometimes.)
  15. Don't want to risk losing your favorite headcover at sea? On a tight budget or want loaner hat(s)? These floppy hats can be found at Target in the U.S. They're made for "Mossino" in some far away Chinese sweat shop. They're 100% wool and have an approx 5" crown and 5 1/4" brim. The two large ones shown will fit a 23-24" noggin. The thickness is approx 1/8". (Retail at time of posting, approx $21 each after tax.) Sample of a flute glass, one of several we found this week at the local 99¢ Store. (Approx height 6 3/4")

  17. Thank you Captain. I would imagine there's a number of those being driven around on people's autos... the brilliant red hue fading to fuchsia under the Florida sun.
